I got mine put of the box just now and it's scuffed but you know what I'll use it for 11 months scuff the crap out of it and then replace it under warranty as it'll be a known issue by then. Like the crack was on the 3G and 3GS.

Meh, it's a pain it lives in my pocket, life goes on.

On the upside it looks great minus my one scuff.

Would apple swap a sealed iphone 5 for a white one when stock permits even though i got my phone direct from my carrier?

It was a demo unit he had in the store. He did the back with the sim card tray and the side with some keys.

Bet his boss loves him :D

This is my plan if it is that bad. I am not anal about my phones as they all have blemishes after I use them for awhile. If it is that bad I live 5 mins from an apple store and will get it replaced under AppleCare+. I have bigger things to worry about then a few nicks.

It's not photoshopped, it was purposely scratched i think, back with sim card tray and the side with keys. Seen it posted somewhere else, cant remember where though.
 
Just got my black iPhone 5. Noticed a chip on the edge as soon as I opened it up. Very disappointed! Decided to return it, not acceptable for a £600 product. Also asked for the replacement to be the white model due to the various issues being noticed with the black finish. Will now be without a phone while courier picks this one up for return and I wait for a replacement.
 
The phone scratches if you scratch it. Why is this a big deal? The iPod touch used to do that and no one complained. They bought a case.
 
Here's the thing folks, most of the general public will put a case on their phone and won't even know the difference.

I was planning on going without a case and have a black phone on the way. I'm thinking I'll be switching to white though. Might give it a few days to see how it goes but I don't really want to risk it. Bummer because I really liked the black phone.

I recall the thread because I've looked it up lateley when you got on my post about something else irrelevant. I knew I had seen your name somewhere so I looked it up... sure enough, you're the one who got all bent outta shape when other posters JOKINGLY told this guy to break up with his gf over an engraved ipad.

This isn't a matter of differing opinion like you seem to want to think it is. I'm all for other opinions. Opinion wasn't the subject, it was you, putting the period in Jessica(period) and wiggin out about a joke thread.

You proceeded to do it again in a more recent post which reminded me of the ipad thing. Again, nothing to do with differing opinions.

If you're going to get all bent outta shape regarding the internet (and again, I feel really bad for you), at least get the subject matter right.
 
meh decided just going jump in and stay with the black waiting for me at home (providing now major scuffs) im not waiting 3 weeks more for my iphone lol.

I can handle bodywork scuffs, i mean this thing will go on drunk nights out with me and ill probably through change in the same pocket at the bar etc.

Doubt apple will do much about it tbh, it is poor quality control, but i just dont like white iphones. maybe its because my other half always gets white idk.

I shall wear scuffs like battle wounds lol.

People shouldn't *need* to buy a case (which covers much of it's beauty) for an expensive phone...
