iPhone 5 First Impressions

It will take a few charge cycles to get an idea but I've been running it on wifi for a couple hours doing a full restore from iCloud. It's been constantly downloading and has dropped 15%.

On the white version, the sides are aluminium. The only white parts on the edged are the plastic separators for the antennas
I've had mine for about 5 hours now and I'm in love. It's just so incredibly light and super speedy (especially compared to my old 4). The black and 'slate' combo is beautiful and larger screen makes a surprising difference. I'm also getting much faster 3G speeds compared to the 3G on my 4. I will concede that the maps app is rubbish, however.
To add to the impression, I had a few calls today and must say the call quality is vastly improved over my iPhone 4, with better filtering of background noise and speech comes through nice and clear. Not sure if it's an improvement done on the 4S, but sure is a noticeable improvement from my 4.
How do the speakers sound? BGR said someone in the next room thought they were listening to a TV when they played video from their 5.

Agreed, it looks like the pic is stretched/distorted a bit. Probably just the angle the pic was taken at. Can't wait to get my iPhone 5 tomorrow! FedEx hurry up!
I have a real cheapy case that I picked up from a case place today to tide me over. I ordered a STM Harbour White case, which should be arriving Monday. Screen protector is applied to the front in all photos

So, my new iPhone has been delivered and everything is set up! I'm one of those lucky Aussies who live in the future
Anyway, I'm pretty impressed with this pocket beast! It is certainly a lot quicker than my iPhone 4.
The screen size is noticeably taller. The change in aspect ratio feels good. The lack of increase in width seems awkward in photos, but when you hold it you understand how much more comfortable it feels when compared to a wider phone. The dock is so tiny now! I almost missed it when checking out the bottom of the device. The speaker grills also look great in the finished modal. They do not appear as large as photos portray them to be.

I was a little concerned about this as well, but there's harld a noticable difference. I'd say there's about a 1-2cm difference in physical size but screen size has increased by a much larger proportion.
Yes, it is noticeably taller. However, it is considerably lighter and I don't feel the extra length when it's in my pocket (LOLPUNS)
Trust me, go the 5...I've played with the 4S and this thing smokes it!

Alright, there's one thing none of the reviews mentioned... Can more than 12 apps fit in a folder? This is literally all I want to know. I'm a very heavy folder user.
