iPhone 5 found in the wild!

I think it's a case that is over the actual iPhone 5, made to look like a 3GS. (like they had done with the iPhone 4) that's why it would look like a slim 3GS. Even tho it's blurry I don't see the headphone jack on the right side (left side when looking at the device) where it would be on a 3GS or ip4. And the "leaked" case design shows the headphone jack on the other opposite side.

It looks like there is a some type of hole or something there on top of the device maybe the micro sim enters on top?

I bet it's just apple messing with us on all of this.

Looks like a thinner 3GS.
I cannot see any LED flash in the back.
The iPhone 4 looks better than this one IMO.
Let's wait until September!
 
Maybe I'm just looking thru my 'hopeful' eyes but the spy pic seems thinner and wider than a 3GS. Also, I'm not seeing a headphone jack on top like the 3GS has, but it'd have to if the leaked case is real. Too grainy of a pic to tell.

it's a 3GS, if you read the 9to5 article it quotes the sorce as saying
“Almost EVO-like” in screen size

I dont know about you but when I'm out and about I hold onto my iphone in such a way to not bring it to attention (there are 50 mobiles stolen every minute in the UK) I don't want mine being half inched, and this is in nice areas, in 'dodgy' areas I don't like even taking my phone out,
anyway my point is it could just be some dodgy train he's on he's holding it as to not overly draw attention from would be muggers (or just freakishly overcautious like me)

It seems that the phone has some of the features of this design i.e the volume switch, size, shape, but the phone has a different location of the flash which the design does not have at all. I think that it may be a prototype, and whoever designed this has been the closest. The design does coincide with the case designs, sort of.

What do you think after looking at the picture, design, and case?

It's an iPhone 3GS, stop posting these ridiculous articles of every little thing, last article was of a ip4 running cydia and they claimed it to be a cheaper version of the iPhone 5!!!! Why is macrumors lowering their standards of credible news?
 
I agree that lately some articles have been ridiculous, but dude this is a rumors site. That is its job. If you don't like what it posts, then don't read it. I find it quite annoying when people say don't post this, don't post that when it is a rumors site. WTF is wrong with you people? Don't read it, that simple.

Rumours are good, I'm all for them, but not when they are this stupid. In the article it says the phone has an EVO-like screen and that the source couldn't see the front. Which is it? I could take a blurry photo of a 3GS and make any wild claims I wanted about what I saw. That's not a rumour though, it's garbage.

“Almost EVO-like” in screen size, this iPhone also appears thinner than the current iPhone 4 but also wider. The edges are rounded metal like the edges of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but could still function as an antenna. The back is a curved/tapered glass or plastic. He couldn’t tell but if he had to guess he’d say glass. He said it looked too amazing to be built by anyone besides Apple (fanboy!).

Our tipster wasn’t able to see the front/home button and the man holding the device was covering the Apple logo for all but a brief moment when the above picture was snapped. It seemed apparent that he was trying to hide what he had more than the average smartphone user.

I can almost guarantee that if in fact tha is the new iPhone he is holding, it's surrounded by a case hiding what the actual phone looks like. So to u guys who are saying "it looks glossy", understand that you are probably looking at the outer shell of a case. The iPhone 4 found in the bar had a case on It remember. With that said, this means there is a good possibility the phone is actually thinner than whats depicted here.

At the end of the day, I say it's not the new iPhone. Because it doesn't seem to be surrounded b a case. No way apple would allow employees out with iPhones and no costume over it

Pretty much that's all I REALLY care for as well. I'd LOVE an LED inidcator, bigger battery, LTE/4G, better front facing camera, etc etc... but a bigger screen is numero uno.
 
Does look like a slimmer 3GS but seems like the dock connector and mic/speaker are on top and the camera/flash is being covered up by a case.

Lol ur avatar and ur comment went perfectly together. Yes it is getting out of hand pepople will cling onto anything and it's absolutly rediculous!

I'm using an iPhone 3GS and that picture couldn't look anymore like my phone even if it was!

If I were Steve, I would have personally told all field-testers of the iPhone 5 three things:

1. Test the iPhone 5 without any case. Better to test antenna efficiency.

2. Put a piece of black electrician's tape over the shiny silver Apple logo.

3. If you leave an iPhone 5 prototype in a bar I will stab you through the heart with a pencil.
