Big LOL at Android fanboys who say everything about specs and nothing about actual performance.

Just hope that my iPhone 5 gets here Friday instead of Monday!

You do realize that its individuals like YOURSELF that instigate these kinds of 'brand wars' in the forums? Do you find meaning in life by being having an Apple logo or other attached to your character?

That's why those attitudes fail in design because they can't think past their own nose :p Fandroids will never understand optimisation > specs

most of us don't worship apple, we just like their products, and this is a forum to discuss stuff. It's pretty crazy that you have an account to talk about products you loathe. I'm not sure what it says about your mental well being.

wake me up when fandroids will stop wasting their time in a forum called macrumors.

...it's gonna be a long slumber...

So, you'd rather turn a blind eye at the fact that Apple purposely limits even the slightest bit of customization? Do you oppose CHOICE?

Good lord. I'm reserving judgment, but I truly believe that A6 is using a better architecture than A15, just judging by by improvement per clock speed.

I would consider "slightest bit of customization" to wallpapers. which we have. I know its "widgets" that your referring too but I mean......I can click on the weather app if I need to see the weather. I don't need it on my home screen.

biggest problem with bench marks like this is you will see the certain company try to cheat on them to improve the scores. It would not be the first time nor the last time Apple tries to cheat on it. Nor would Apple be the first or last company to do it.

The old Acid 3 test got looked into and it was found out that Apple the web browser started cheating on it to get a higher score. I would not put it past Apple at all to optimize their web browser to get a higher score.

Basicly learn to take benchmarks like these with a huge grain of salt.

maybe the iOS and os x work exactly the way people who buy it want to use it already? Or is that too complicated for you?

Huh, that's funny...

I read all sorts of comments from fandroids that the 1 Ghz A6 would never be able to compete the mighty 1.5 Ghz Krait-based Galaxy S3. They were absolutely certain of this. I'm not sure how to interpret these results.

You wouldnt get far in that discussion seeing how you and others would be of the same opinion. You'd need an outsider to tell you where the criticisms and improvements should be made. It seems like you have a serious problem with people that prefer to use Android. I suggest you rationalize that a bit.

This is a news section for specs of the iPhone. If you want to talk about iOS, go to that sub forum. I don't care what phone or OS people use. But I don't go into the android or RIM forums, because I don't own their phones and that would be pathetic and trollistic.

Just wondering, is this applicable to 3rd party browsers like chrome?

I doubt chrome on iOS would have the potential to optimise it into iOS as well as safari is. This is about factory fresh iPhone vs factory fresh other phones though so..

but.. but.. benchmarks doesn't matter, real world performance is..

Well, this is real world performance right?

Customization in my eyes goes well beyond widgets, which I only have *one* of on my android phone (a big transparent clock using a helvetica type font). I dont care for widgets myself, but I would never enforce the limitation on others to not have them if they so chose to.... unlike apple.

I'm talking about lockscreens, notifications, transition animations, keyboards and sizes, contact shortcuts and what is available when pressed, etc. Its a lot of the little things that make the *whole* experience awesome to *MY* liking, not Steve Jobs or Apple's liking.

I read somewhere that safari isnt hardware accelerated like browsers are on android and windows phone a few hours ago, and now seeing this, makes me curious, its THAT optimized??

listen, if people actually gave a crap about being able to change their **** around no one would buy the iPhone. Obviously the iPhone is one of the most popular phones so you trying to speak for the 7 billion people in this world just makes you sound like a complete fool. Get off this forum if you can't handle the fact that some people like good design and want to use their **** for what it is meant to be used for and not have it run the NASA space station after 600 hours of customisation on their 1.5ghz quad core

as someone stated we can't take any of these benchmarks serious until users here run it

the last benchmark claimed the 5 was faster with the a6 processor using geekbench which was false as i hit easily 1800 on my s3 so where are these benchmarks coming from?not to mention other s3 users also posted bench scores

mind you i owned every iphone since day one but to sit there and false advert benchmarks makes it sad.so ill say wait until consumers have it and run there own bench marks stock vs stock

Calm down, don't get too excited. Nobody implied that if Apple were to allow some customization it would break your phone and the experience with it. Why are you so quick to assume that 'oh no, apple gives me customization, the world is going to end!!'

You should think more openly about the benefits of having choice.

Like I said in my initial post though, the benchmarks mean squat, both for android phones and iphone.
