I believe there needs to be at least 5mm to 7mm border on the sides otherwise, there will be insufficient room for a case to wrap over the edge.

here's a leaked apple pack-shot...

Mabye bigger screen size but same res for app compatibility.

I don't see this as a fake, but this may not be an Apple part. There are many smart phone look-alikes running Android and Windows Mobile 7. I bet that this is a part from something like that with a bigger screen to try to one up the iPhone in hardware.

I don't care about the screen size all that much. I just want to know whether we will get a Thunderbolt port.

I don't care. I'm one of those people who pray for a larger screen. At LEAST 4 to 4.5 at most. Keep the size of the iphone4, but make a larger additional phone in the line-up.
1) I'm getting old(er) and I want a larger screen
2) Larger screen=larger phone
a) more space in the phone to add a larger processor
b) more space is larger battery. Don't care what most people get. But if Apple wants us to play with apps, then I want something with 2x the battery. Even if it does get a bit heavy.
c)Larger camera. ie: larger sensor.
3) 1in or so larger screen is NOT gonna kill the retina display. Sure it won't be as sharp, but it'll still be sharper than any other 4+ inch phone screen.

The rumor of going smaller is harder on Apple. Can't get retina resolution on a smaller screen without spending ALOT more on the phone. And who wants less features?

Get rid of the circle button, or make it smaller or oval.

I actually like the home button. I always reach into my front left pocket and pull the iphone out and can tell instantly which way is up. I basically use the home button as a place to grab with my thumb and index finger and with one motion, pull it out, flip it up (using the home button as the pivot point), press the home button to wake up and slide to unlock with my other hand.

No, if it were perspective, the black area would get narrower farther away from the camera (as it does in your example), but in this case it actually gets wider. And as MacAgnostic and LaazyEye demonstrate on p. 7 of these comments, there is irrefutable evidence of cloning of part of the screen area. The image has been busted.

I dunno about this one.. it could just be the angle.

Here is an iPhone 4 from an angle - it looks like the lines are crooked but they're not, obviously.

LOL! This thread is really funny. It reminds me of the Mac Mini thread a 1-2 years back when "experts" were analyzing the leaked shots of the Mini on a pixel level with photoshop histograms and electron microscopes... They went really silent after the product was launched :D

Looking forward to see what happens this time around

I don't know that I buy the claims this is fake because it's taken from an angle neither coplanar with the x or y axis of the screen and there is some tapering due to distance from lens changing.

Objects taper away from the lens

Not towards

I did't bother to read all the posts after this one so if someone already caught this, sorry for the dupe

If you can't pull the phone out of your pocket, and with one hand, get off the lock screen and onto the phone itself to either answer a call or play your music, then "gestures" would be the stupidest thing Apple ever did to the iPhone. What the hell is it with people wanting gestures on something you primarily use with one hand?

The nano is designed to be one handed with gestures. Idk about you but i sure as hell can navigate my phone perfectly with one had all day. I can swipe pages, unlock, pinch to zoom. I dont see how a nano style multi touch gesture would be so much of a problem. Id love to have it regardless if apple makes it official or not. But everything points in that direction that multi touch gestures are a major part of apple's products

Ha ha, people that take pics of things and draw lines on them to show that they're not straight - with a camera that has lens distortion...

I call deliberate product leak so that people "thinking" about Android will think again...

Also, the iPhone "Nano" will just be an 8 Gig version of the iPhone 4 for $99 (on AT&T and Verizon).

Alright people, start "camping out"...
You're the funny one. What's with all the obvious Clone Stamps on the image and the fact that it was 'shopped with CS2? Hmmm??

Before you hurt yourself from laughter, you want to refute the perspective and cloning problems that expose this image as a fake?
