How much of that is from camera distortion typical in P&S cameras?

However, this image has been processed in Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop CS2 Windows to be exact.

I rotated the image in Photoshop and placed some horizontal guide lines across it and the camera section does look ok. I think the camera angle and lighting just give the illusion that it's wrong.

I cant wait for the real thing to come out and bump up some of the comments on here :D

It's probably fake

I tried to find the vanishing points using AUTOCad. On one side the lines seem parallel in the perspective (no vanishing point) on the other side they look anti-parallel in real life (implies second vanishing point).

Hasn't anyone noticed that if this is the new front glass then apple has apparently moved the FaceTime camera to the right of the earpiece speaker? On iPhone 4 as you hold the phone facing you the camera is to your left. Obviously a fake, unless you hadn't noticed that!!

or lens distortion from the camera.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought the display and the glass were all one piece on the iPhone 4???

Wasn't that one of the changes that were made in order to make it thinner? Or at least the digitizer or something.

Flip the glass over and it's on the left side.

How do you know which part is the 'front' or the 'back'?

"Retina display" is a marketing term. Apple can use it however they want to.

Yes it is. What's your point? Sorry but I'm confused as to why you quoted me?:confused::confused:

But then again I would say that Apple made a HUGE deal about it's DPI and how you can zoom right in to text and see smooth lines. This has ever since been associated with Apple's 'Retina' tag.

Personally I would much rather have the current DPI or a slight dip and a 3.7 or 3.8" screen over ANY physical size increase at all. I'm sorry but I just cannot stand these ultra thin massive slabs of a phone with 4.5" screens? And I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't have baggy trousers with pockets big enough for an iPad......

the only way back to an iphone is through a 4 inch screen. Once you go big there is no going back.

Hey all first post here! But I have to say whats with all the fake talk. Sure it may not be real but even if it is, it gives us something to hope for. I remember reading all the comments about the new MBPs and the Thunderbolt/MDP combo and everyone screaming fake and arguing. Turned out the leaks were correct. The moral of this story is, even if you think its fake it may not be but until Apple announces it, everything is fake, its a given. It just gives us all something to talk about.

Thank you.

Fake or not or whatever, the image brings up a question. If in fact the screen gets bigger and the bezel gets thinner, how would cases that offer any sort of front edge protection (sliders, etc) going to stay on the phone and still protect the front?

Transparency?

Am I the only one that doesn't think it's photoshopped... but printed on an old fashioned transparency? You can see the edges...

Ha ha, people that take pics of things and draw lines on them to show that they're not straight - with a camera that has lens distortion...

I call deliberate product leak so that people "thinking" about Android will think again...

Also, the iPhone "Nano" will just be an 8 Gig version of the iPhone 4 for $99 (on AT&T and Verizon).

Alright people, start "camping out"...

Last time, the design and tech aspects we saw in the iPad are aligned with the iPhone and iPod touch lines. There have been rumors of a thinner bezel and this almost confirms it for March 2. All round, I think a bigger screen will only improve the iPhone experience and the potentials for iOS 5 are now limitless. Waiting for March 2 to get a glimpse of things to come

bigger screen isn't an inherent advantage unless they keep the same resolution and add more pixels.

Haha, Why is it that people who have no idea what they are talking about, are allowed to have opinions? You say keep resolution and add more pixels?!? Do you not understand pixels is what makes up resolution? Why would anyone opposed to this anyways? 4" screen would be sick, especially when the phone will get no bigger in size. It also would still have enough dpi to be still considered "retina" as well, so you can't argue that either. Anyone opposed to this, is a current iPhone 4 owner who knows they want this new one as well and aren't eligible. I have an iPhone 4 but am satisfied as I prefer an iPad for more iOS screen real-estate. I'll upgrade the phone the year after
