Looks nice, i really like the black one.

If this came out last year instead of the 4S then I would be happy, but it's still not a radical redesign as I believed it would be. Like the 3GS to 4.

I'm curious as to what the symbol will be for the new "Lightning" connector, considering the Thunderbolt symbol is a lightning bolt? It can't be a cloud, as that's the symbol for iCloud.

What's Apple going to do???

this is the full paragraph form tech crunch. ummm

We’ll know far more about these phones when we get to really use them later this month but until then I can report that this is a solid and interesting improvement to a solid and interesting phone. Is it a blockbuster launch? Probably not, but it is an interstitial launch that allows Apple to update the screen size and dock connector while still hiding some of its tricks up its sleeve.
hands on already

Just take my money! I've always bought the white ones but just might opt for the black model this time, it looks way too sleek.

This is the first iPhone that I actually like in white (probably becuase of that big chunk of aluminum on the back that reminds me of my Mac mini). However I still think the black looks better. It's got that stealth sleek look to it.

None of those articles or any other info I have found has mentioned what the Camera app looks like.

I can't possibly be the only person wondering how they display a 4:3 photo preview on a 16:9 screen. :)

(the iPhone 4S takes photos at 3264 X 2448 pixels which is 4:3... supposedly, the iPhone 5 does the same)

Can I ask those who want to switch to S3...what is better in S3 in compare to iphone 5? It is not rhetorical question; I just don't see the reason why S3 is better device and I need someone to convince me. Please!!!

I was surprised Apple did not reveal a new bumper or case for the iPhone 5. With them pushing the colors of the iPod and their respective cases and having just recently added "Red" as a 4/4S bumper color I figured it woulld be given there would be a case reveal. Plus, if I remember correctly, there was a rumor of a new case with a unique feature was to be announced today. Either way, I plan on preordering and hope I can get a good case before my new iPhone 5 lands on my doorstep.

I'm so torn. I like the black one but I've had a black iPhone for awhile, would be nice to change it up and have a phone that matches my white iPad.

First world pains, i guess lol

You are correct, I remember that rumor too and was waiting for it. Never happened, eh

Every version I've preferred the black one...except this one. I think the White one is the superior looking one this time around. Reasoning...I think the silver back and sides will show less scratches therefore you can go case-less or even just a small bumper around it.

To each their own. :) This is why apple is making both models. :D

Does anyone else think that the back of the iPhone 5 is going to accumulate a bunch of scratches. Especially with the black iPhone?

Yay for the new iPhone but I just found out Apple bumped the min specs so it now requires Snow Leopard to sync with, so until Apple updates the iMac I won't be getting one!

And I really want the White one :)

Holy Cow! I had no idea that it would look like this. Apple had such a tight lid on things during the design phases that I didn't know what to expect.

:apple:

email has been out since yesterday...

iCloud email has been out for more than 30 hours for some 1.1% users according to apple. if you or someone you know has been experiencing difficulty send or receiving emails, please post, tweet, announce, yell, do whatever you can to make people aware of this serious situation.

yes! you are right! My work is postponed by this crazy outage. imagine, you get your iPhone 5 and you can't receive mail; you get no email alert about your margin calls, your e-bay sells, your wife's secret visit, your mistress's having a baby. your world will turn up side down, but your iphone 5 won't be able to save you. what's worse is that your photostream is now gone; and the movie you were watching on the train started from very beginning once you got home and try to watch on your iMac.

i am not trying to trash this iPhone5 moment, but this outrage needs to be known by the world.

If its anything like my phone (i don't take widescreen camera shots) it just has black bars.

The iPhone 4S pictures are already letterboxed on its 3:2 screen.

The letterboxing would just be a bit thicker (88 pixels -- about a quarter-inch -- more on each side) on the iPhone 5's 16:9 screen.
