hearing lots of back and forth on the time but some users called Apple and was told 12am PST but some other people are saying 3am PST. I definitely don't want to stand in line at the stores, easier if i can just order online through Apple

So from reading this thread looks like it'll e early Friday morning. That's fine with me. I don't har **** to do Friday morning and don't have to go to work until in the afternoon!! Woot!

there's a few other threads that reps at verizon verified 12am PST so that means everyone else will be 12am. doesn't hurt to start checking early if you can. as far as conflicting reports go, most is now leaning towards 12am PST

I'll be staying up late to pre-order. My girlfriend is reserving hers so I got volunteered to go with her to our local Apple store to pick hers up on launch day. That is of course after the FedEx man (or UPS) delivers mine. :D

I don't think they are doing reservations anymore...its either preorder or first come first serve.

I'm hearing 12:01 AM for Sprint/Verizon this friday for pre orders but I haven't seen anything about AT&T...

Correct.

Just like last year for pre-orders.

This might be the most random reply you'll ever hear. My Nan lives next door, if I Pre-order the iPhone 5 on the website and put her address will she be able to sign for it? Or does that depend on the courier? Thanks!! It just I'll be at work and no-one will be at home. I know I'm not the only one but I was just wondering if this could be done?

Oh wow. First I have heard of that. But thanks, I guess I'll have to check into that for her.
Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe they didn't do it last year for the 4S.

You can fill out a form and put it on your door but it is up to the person doing the delivery.

Seriously, Apple? I and every other college student will be drunk at midnight tomorrow. Disappointed...

I got a question too.
Does anyone know how Apple "ranks" the preorders?
Is it the time you order or the time you pay?
Because I got no credit card and it might take 1 to 2 days until the bank handles it.

I think it's by the time your order goes through like the minute it's processed, so I would wait and be ready to be in the first "batch of preorders" or else lets say you wait an hour or even 2 you might be in the second or 3rd batch and those chi out like a week AFTER the deadline/ you might not recieve it on the 21st.

an hour or two is a little drastic. Last year it took nearly 12 before the times were bumped. They went on sale at 12:01 am PST and it was about 11:00 am PST before shipping times slipped.

Can I pre order and switch carriers at the same time? I'm thinking about going from AT&T to Sprint for that unlimited LTE. I have coverage in my city although it is not great yet. Thoughts please?
