iPhone 5 Pre order Thread !!!!

I am on an AT&T Family Plan and my father is the primary account holder. Only thing is, he lives 2 hours away. I plan to pre-order through Apple.com tonight. Could anybody run through what information I will need to get from him before going through this process tonight? Thanks in advance.

But on the side note, anyone have any input on how fast they'll sell out? :confused: My upgrade isnt til October 10th and I'll be buying the 64gb model. Any clue on if any AT&T models will be available or if they'll do what the Retina Macbook did and be out of stock for months...

It will be similar to the Retina MBP in that it will be very hit or miss when it comes to finding them. Once the first batch sells out, which usually lasts most of the first release day, it will be very inconsistent. Pretty much just calling around everyday, and if they get some in get there as fast as possible. If you try hard enough and call around throughout the day, you will be able to find one pretty quickly, maybe a few days. However, the online orders will be backed up for weeks.

I'm pretty much out of my mind but I am waking up at 2:55am to order. I don't want to miss out on the fist shipment...

You'll definetly need his ss#. Possibly his credit card with expiration and that security code on the back. Maybe his iTunes account and password! You wont need all, but just trying to cover all bases and save you a 2:30am call. Dont even try to get it shipped to you, it's just gonna over complicate things and probably screw up the order... drive the two hours.
 
Changing Carriers on Pre-Order

Is it an option to switch from AT&T to Verizon on pre-order? I was looking at the Apple app on my iPhone and it shows my eligibility with AT&T, but when I switch carriers to show Verizon it says I don't have an account, which is true...but this seems like it would prevent me from buying a phone with Verizon when I now have AT&T. I live in San Francisco and I've heard from many that Verizon has much better signal here.

Yea, I plan on buying it in store. Preferably at AT&T but I'll go through the hassle of buying a phone through Walmart or Best Buy if I have to -.-
 
You also have to make sure you bring ID with you because they'll check your ID against your debit/credit card, I think i'll be waiting in line next week though I don't mind camping out for it lol, it'll be a long wait though :/

Just order a Verizon phone. When it arrives, call Verizon to port your AT&T number over.

I wish I was joining you all in the camping out :'( My upgrade isnt til October 10th. This is the first time I cant preorder the new iPhone since the 3GS. Stupid apple had to make AT&T sign a contract against no early upgrades for iPhone only. Grrrr

It could be anywhere from 12 am Cupertino time to much later. There are many different systems that have to line up in order for it to happen. There's also the consideration of when you'll actually be able to place your order successfully without anything hanging or timing out. It's a crap shoot.
 
selling 4s... help

I put my 4s with Lifeproof and other cases bundle on eBay and the highest bid was $425 but the sell fell through. I reposted it for $445 with original box, bumper, oakley case, and lifeproof.

I know $445 is probably too high but I'm panicking because if I don't sell this then I won't be able to purchase the 64gb 5 model. Any advice? SOS:eek:
 
I have a question for those that have preordered before. If I want to purchase two phones for two lines (both eligible for upgrade from at&t)that are under the same account, will I be able to order them both at the same time, or do I need to go through the preorder process twice?
