iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

Congrats to those who could score, unfortunately I was unable to get :(

So how likely I can buy if I get in the line? Are the stores keeping separate inventory for in store purchases? A few days ago I called a store in the afternoon and asked if they ever sell people who just walked in. He said yes, but he didn't sound very sure to me. And I didn't check this personally by going to the store at opening time.

Anyone else heard anything about it?

This^ when i refreshed every store in the first column had em in stock. (in Los Angeles btw)
 
Has anyone not gotten their confirmation email to pick up their iPhone? I got the email stating my order was processing. I've checked my spam and nothing. Looks like my cc was charged though.
 
hey, does anyone know if their selling the iphone 5 contract free here in NYC? i keep calling them and they said no....but reading the forums, it seems like some are indeed buying them without a contract...

I think the walk in ones are just what is left over from reserves.

When I did it the confirmation email didn't arrive until 8:30am (my time zone)

It seems those who are buying them off contract are reserving them 1st and then when they arrive at the store they buy them off contract. Just my observation.
 
Anyone able to score any IP5 from Delaware area?

Also, I wanted to know, that I will be doing a upgrade swap from my third line dumb phone. So can I order it like teh store reservation and pick it up and tehn go to ATT store and ask them to swap it to my line?

My wife is the primary accoutn holder, but its not her line that is being upgraded for teh swap its a different line.

So can I go and pick up the phone or does she has to?

my observation has been....they do this and when they get to the store apple is telling them sorry, and the phone goes back into the "walk in" batch. However, if there is not a long line you could still score it.

Tyson's not Reston. Oops ... Anyhow picked it up yesterday afternoon. In and out in 20 mins. Phone is in pristine condition just as it should be. They also received a shipment of Lightning cables as well.

That was pretty painless at the Apple store.

For the record I got a black & slate and it's perfect out of the box. I had opened it there and it's good to go. I had it in my pocket and cup holder on the way home, no problems with the finish.

She has to go with you unless she added you as an authorized user in the account.
 
Still no new AT&T black models here. Seems like North Carolina is getting them in every day, but all we have here are Verizon white models. Nothing new in 2 days. I hope Thursday and Friday they get a bigger variety in :p
 
Yeah, I got the black iPhone 5 around 11 AM. Got in and out in under ten minutes. More like five minutes in my opinion. About five or so were waiting outside for the iPhone 5 as well who had tickets to guarantee them one. Seems like they had a lot of iPhones in stock at 11 in Wayne, NJ.
 
Is there a special link for the iphone reservations or would i need to go into the apple.com site and just go through the iphone 5 purchase process to see if the Apple store near me has any available iphones?

Anyone else notice that the reservation system doesn't seem to be working yet tonight? Won't even let me check in-store pickup availability at all.
 
Yet another night with no luck. 16 GB models all over the place, no 32 GB anywhere, a few sparse 64's.
