iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

finally got one, I debated with the Grove and then Century City and then there were still some available at Sherman Oaks and Third St. Promenad and I am getting one from there which is perfect because that store opens at 9am!!! means I will miss out crossfit work out tomorrow unless i go early in the am.

perfect timing too because my home button has stopped working on my Verizon 4. yeah for LA!

soon to have a 16gb White iphone 5.

same here! My gf was sad because I scored one last night for me, and she didn't get one. Today i saw one in stock, I was trying to check out and for some reason my CC wouldn't get authorized. Tried a different CC and by the time i entered the info it was sold out. Luckily I checked another store and it was available but its about 40 miles away. Better than noting.

What time was this? Started refreshing at 10:00 and never saw a single store in LA in stock.

Same here saw some in CA att 32 Back in stock. 2 min alter gone. Cant find any in NV :(

do they update after 10PM or am i wisting my time?

keep in mind... 3 networks, 3 capacities, 2 colors. considering how few units become available in the first place, your desired configuration may not have been available anywhere at this time.

lasted a whole 2 minutes? wow people were slacking tonight. don't count on finding any past 10pm.

I reserved one last night in SoCal and called this afternoon and spoke to a specialist who told me that they will hold it for me for two weeks and I will not have any issues with waiting to pick it up because I already paid for it.

it varies. he really should just call to confirm. some places will hold for only 1 week, others 2 weeks.
 
Does pick up considered as an online or in store purchase?

I know you pay it online, it should be an online purchase, but this whole thing was introduced as "Reserving" which obviously isn't.

The other thing is, does the coverage start at the time of payment or pick up?

I don't really know what I am going to do with those answers, just curiosity.
 
Sorry for the dumb question but where do you "reserve" the iPhone on the Apple website? Last year for the iPhone 4S it was easy after the lunch to reserve it and just pick it up. I don't see the link to reserve it. Do I have to "buy" it and then the option to reserve/pick up at the store come up?

they all popped up around 10:03. The Grove, Century City, 3rd St. P. Sherman Oaks...all for Verizon 16gb White. I tried to walk in the Grove today at 10am, there was already a line for people picking up their orders and they weren't doing walkins.
 
Somehow I know that as soon as I place my online order for a 32 GB in white, one will pop up at a local store and I'll just be furious. Oh well...

I think time of pickup. For example, my warranty on my 5 did not start until the 21st even though I pre-ordered on the 14th and was charged around the 16th. Say there was an issue and it didn't get delivered on the 21st, I still think it would be 21st for the start date. Basically the day you could actually get the phone is the warranty start date.

Anyone who has one ordered for in-store pickup today, any issues on getting the "We're ready for you" email they send out? I have not seen my email yet but I did get the "processing" email last night after the order. I am on the west coast and it isn't 10 yet, so I am thinking they just haven't done it yet. I got my "We're ready for you" email yesterday around 8:30am for my other phone, so it's making me a little nervous that I haven't seen it yet.

Nevermind, just got it. Good luck again to the rest of you who have to continue playing the 10-4 game. I got my 2 and I'm done!

i think it depends on the area that you live in. For example, in checking nightly just after 10 pm, i have seen almost no availability in the NY/NJ/Phila region.

I just think that overall stock is very think right now for most places.

New account. My work pays for my account and they're not upgrading my phone yet, so I'm purchasing the phone with a new line in the hope of going to the store and converting the purchase to device only. Apologies. I should have clarified my post.
 
I already ordered mine and will be here in like 3-4 weeks. for me to do the preorder, do i need to cancel that order, wait a day for my upgrade to come back and then try this approach? I'm about 2 hrs away but am thinking about taking the chance. is there anyway to keep my other order in the system and then if i get on the preorder list, cancel my other order?

Who did you pre-order with and did you also place an order with Apple?
