iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

Is this method accurate for checking store stock as well? I don't want to buy it online like that since my order is currently tied up with AT&T, but I plan to cancel if I can buy one before then.

I doubt it because your eligibility may be gone now if you've already ordered with Apple. You can try it, that's the best way to check.

This is the method to check store stock. You can't reserve one unless the store physically has it in stock.

yeah, thats what im afraid of. If i cancel the order to try this method i may never get through with a store with phones in stock and then i start over. we have plenty of stores 2 hrs from me. but nothing in my area.

Yeah you can't. They told me I would have to cancel my order and then try to get one that isn't reserved in the store. I am using the system to check stock but I can't actually reserve one. I will just call and cancel if I have the chance to buy one before my order ships. Otherwise, I will wait my few weeks.

Can you give some details about this. i just dont understand , how you can go back and choose the store after placing the order?

i am so confused and didnt get any steps here. But since i'm the only person asking so it must be useful:)

You add the one you want to cart around 15 minutes before 10. The step where you choose for "delivery" or "in store pickup" it should say unavailable at your nearest store. By the time it gets to 9:58 ish I click on "change location" or store or w/e it says. When you click it, a window pops up. It lets you enter your zip code and then shows the nearest like 5 stores, you hit "next" to show the next nearest 5 stores. At that time what I did is press next/previous over and over at 10pm until one showed it "in stock" then I would just click it and checkout Immediately. My CC info Is already saved on my account so I only need to enter the 3 digit number from the back of the card. I've gotten 1 the last 2 nights doing this.
 
I just spoke to an AT&T rep to rep to find out about. Upgrade swap and he said that if I ordered today he can waive the overnight shipping fee and send me the phone I would have it in 2 days. I was not sure how correct that info was so I said to will call later.

Any insight to what the rep told me?

Also, if I try to order through apple reservation will I be able to reserve it when it's an upgrade swap. Does it check if line is eligible or not like it did one the pre order night?

when you choose the model phone capacity carrier, then it will ask for you account info, then it will confirm you status , then it will ask you to ship or pick up , choose pick up at apple store , then it will ask you for the zip code , then it will check probably come up with unavailable ,then enter again the zip code and enter and again probably come up un-available keep doing that over for about 1-4 minutes after 10pm until one shows up as available .
 
Ok how do you guys are being able to do upgrade swap with the reservation system. When I tried with the line which has the dumb phone it's asking me to choose a data plan. I don't want data for this line. How to bypass this.

You can't do the swap until after you get the phone. You upgrade the line that's eligible and once you get the phone in your possession then you do the swap. You may have to add the data to the line and then take it off once you complete the swap.
 
Just reserved a 64GB Black Verizon at Apple, woot, my iPhone 4 needs replaced, having quite a few issues with it.
 
Quick Question

Hi, I'm preordering for pickup online for my mother. Say I get one tonight, will I have to pick it up? Or can she print out the confirmation email and pick it up herself? Thanks guys!


PS. snagged one 2 nights ago for my GF. 16GB Black Verizon in WI. Just keep trying! You'll get one!
