iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

The Apple Store here told me they got nothing today when I called. Maybe they got shipments today and aren't selling them till tomorrow? The employee there told me they don't sell shipments the same day they get them, and since they don't get any on Sundays, it makes sense.

I've talked to a few Apple store workers over the past week. At least here in SE Michigan, they tend to get thier shipments via FedEx around 2-3pm in the afternoon, and that stock is what becomes available in the online ordering system that night for in store pickup the next day. If they get a shipment on Monday afternoon, they do not make it available on Monday.

What time did you call? Maybe they just hadn't received their shipment yet? Or, maybe they really didn't get a shipment (they don't always get one every day). Either that, or they have been getting tired of people calling them and asking if they got a shipment today, for reservations tonight and are just saying they don't know if a shipment came in, when they really do (I've run into a few workers who have done that too).

I called around 1pm. They told me they did not get anything Sunday, and if they got anything today, and they did not know if they did, it will show up tonight at 10pm on the reservation site. So I assume like you said, if they get something today, it will be available tonight via the reservation system. I've been checking nightly for over a week now and my store hasn't shown any 32GB AT&T black models at all. Charlotte was the closest store to have them.

I'm hoping a new week means they may start getting more, but it doesn't sound like the supply is improving.

apple website says you can check inventory from 10pm every night but i was just saying that yesterday the online reservation system was already up by 9:45pm when i just happened to check at that time.

No, i couldn't find any stock from 9:45pm to 10:15pm or so and then i gave up.

Vingem, where on the Apple site can you check the store inventory? Do you have to go thru the whole buying of the phone or can you just check inventory?

What?! I'll have to check again; I only see it available in Westchester and CT. I can only pick it up Saturday or Sunday because of work so I've only been checking Friday and Saturday nights. If I am able to reserve one in store, do you know if I can cancel my online order?

If the order hasn't shipped you can just cancel it. Give it about 2 minutes after and you can go use the reservation system. That is what I did on Saturday night.

Yeah, you can do that...

ANd it is basically checking inventory. If you can reserve one, then that means they have them in stock. The system gets updated at night to include today's shipments sent to stores.

Does Monday seem to be a lucky day for a lot of people? I've been checking this thing for a little less than a week and nothing. This is my first Monday checking. I hope I get lucky. Looking for a 16GB Verizon White model. In Cincinnati. They said they get shipments in every day (excluding Sundays obviously) and some days they get in 5, other days 50. So I hope I get lucky really soon. Good luck everyone else trying tonight too!

I hope so. I've been checking since last week and there has been nothing in stock. Surely the store here isn't receiving anything all week long.

It looks like you can select a store before 10pm. I've been refreshing it since 9:35. It shows nothing for any stores in 3 different zip codes I've tried (in 3 different states).
Does it even matter if they open it up before 10pm? Just wondering if the available inventory will even show before 10pm even if they let you select the pick up in store option before 10pm. Did that make sense?

I was wondering the same thing. It just started working for me but no store anywhere in my area from Virginia to Florida has anything... I don't know if I should just wait till 10 or if this means nothing came once again

Reserved iphone 5 white Friday night ... picked up today ... one note is that they had to activate the number on the phone before giving it so my wife was without service all day. Still ... in and out in less than 10 minutes. Reservation system works pretty well for those in the know.

Actually I just reserved a 32GB black in NYC, Verizon though. Just a couple of minutes ago, around 10:06 pm.

Actually I just reserved a 32GB black in NYC, Verizon though. Just a couple of minutes ago, around 10:06 pm.

Maybe no shipments of AT&T models are making it to the US.... that's my only explanation. A week has passed and absolutely no AT&T models have shown up as in stock online anywhere near South Carolina, New York or even California. I checked there just to see if other stores were getting them.

I was able to find a 16GB Black AT&T on Thursday night in SE Michigan, for pick up on Friday. Got that for my niece, but haven't seen anything in stock since then. Starting to wonder myself.

Thinking the same thing. Getting tired of wasting 30 mins each evening from 9:45-10:15pm refreshing over and over again on the Apple site. Should just order it and be done.

I would. I ordered mine on 10/1 but was convinced I would be able to find it before it come in in November or whenever in God's name AT&T delivers it. But maybe I actually won't. I didn't expect supply to be this constrained. Apple needs to stop launching in all these countries and fulfill their orders first.

I wasted over a half hour tonight too.
Not even 1 in stock in 32 Apple stores near me.
I dont get it.
