2 apple store here in Houston had them! But by the time I did the check out with my Amex and agree all the terms it kicked me out to not available for pick up! WTF Apple? Cereal? :rolleyes: anyways will try tonight again. It has been 4 days so far.
 
just got a black 16gb AT&T iphone5 for my wife at the pasadena,ca store.

been trying the online reservation since last saturday and have also been calling & walking in to best buy & radioshack and i've had no luck.

i was in the pasadena area this morning and i decided to stand in line at the apple store (heard they were doing that) to see if they had any iphones in stock. they had 14 at&t phones and the 1st seven folks in the line grabbed all of them.

when i asked them if there would be any left later due to cancellations or anything else the genius said people who have been reserving the phones have been picking them up and haven't seen any cancellations so far and didn't expect it to be different today, so i left.

i walk in to the store again at 10:25am asked a genius if there was any att phone and he asked me to stand behind another gentlemen and told me he wasn't sure how many they had, as he was being helped another genius came by and said she could be help me with my purchase and 10mins later i walk out with the phone.

i asked if they had more but she said this was the last, BUT the guy who was in front of me, i think, wasn't an authorized user, was trying to upgrade his wife's line and he wasn't eligible for an upgrade either.

so i think that phone could still be available but as i was walking out, i think already someone else was inquiring about iphone5.

if you are in a major city close to a big apple store, i heard that they either give out tickets early in the morning or if they have any stock they let people buy them at the store.
 
grabbed a 32GB AT&T black from danbury CT last night and just picked it up. It was around 9:55 that it showed up. Got lucky too because I was out and was checking it on my phone (i.e. you have to fully quit the app and restart for it to refresh).

Checked a minute later and they were all gone again...
 
Picked mine up first thing this morning at the Apple store in Allentown, PA. Black, 16GB, ATT. The girl in front of me wanted to buy an iPhone 5 in less than the 3-4 week delivery window. The genius explained this whole reservation process to her. She was not happy. Then I just waltzed right in and picked mine up. Good luck to her.
 
Got a black 64gb AT&T at MacArthur Center. I wanted to get a white one but the black one just looks too good to pass up.
 
Finally got an AT&T 32gb White iPhone5 at Apple store in Indy.
It showed up at 10:03pm, had Express Checkout setup so it only took a few seconds to confirm.
I'm so Happy!
BTW, Target in Greenwood, IN has some iPhones in stock today, AT&T. 16gb black, plus others. Only reason I didn't get is because I know 16gb is too small for me.

i walked in and got a 32gb white AT&T model without preorders or reservations. granted they just opened at 10am but i apparently got lucky. worth a shot if you can try the apple stores when they open if the preorders aren't working.
 
I just checked the Apple stores "around me" almost an hour after the inventory went live & there are 32GB Black AT&T in a few of the stores.
 
as an update to my story about walking and buying one without a reservation.....well they gave me a bad phone.

the phone was from a cancelled pre-order and thus, that customer's phone number was coming up in itunes. Apple support couldn't /wouldn't fix it so after an hour on the phone with apple and att they sent me in to a Genius Bar appointment. after asking for a supervisor, they swapped my phone out for a new one (they have different inventories for issues). they wanted to a do a trouble ticket but I just bought it an hour before and I was just going to return it.

glad they were cool about it. they are awesome about resolving issues for the most part.

PS it was unlocked out of the box (the genius bar one).
 
lots of store in and around LA have the 16gb in stock. choose white if you are not particular in color.'All eligible' doesn't work if you have more than 1 item.
 
How long do they hold the phone for you once ordered? I don't see anything about it in the email. I got a 32GB AT&T White, but at the Marina SF store instead of the main one downtown, it's a tad more inconvenient to get to by bus and i'm thinking of driving on Saturday morning instead.

it didnt mention anywhere, but last time i received a call from the store I ordered the second day to confirm if you still want to pick it up.
 
i found a 64gb black for verizon. the problem is i found it 35 miles away. i got it, but i'm not sure if it's worth the drive to pick it up. :/
 
Not sure what happened last night but every store within a 200 mile radius of me suddenly had white iPhone 5s in stock. Hadn't seen a single store have white since the launch, so they must have hired a new batch of Chinese workers or something.

Anyways, assuming Apple keeps their promise I'll have my shiny (or scuffed) new 5 today.
 
When do you get the confirm email? I ordered last night at 10:03 for Ross park store. It's like an hour drive so I planned on being there as soon as they open..

Macboy - you could try calling the store and speak 'store manager' the automated system and that should put you thru to the store. It also might be true that whatever the policy, hearing from you directly may be enough to give you another day.

I am pretty sure it is 7 days
 
positive? i've been trying to find a clear answer whether its one day or 7.

I just checked my email and it says "apple may cancel your order if you do not pick up." I would call them to double check b.c each store may be doing it differently.
