Yeah I'm getting kicked out too with errors. Tim Cook has absolutely dropped the ball in this regard as far as I'm concerned.

I love how anything even remotely associated with Apple is automatically Tim Cook's fault. If the battery in my iPad dies tomorrow, it's Tim Cook's fault.

I had an iphone in my cart ready to go and then it looks like they pushed an update to the apple store and it cleared my cart. Upon trying again I kept getting the same error as others. At one point it said that the 32GB Black was in stock at the upper west side store. I wanted to see other stores so I clicked change store and it errored out again. Now I'm not seeing anything. Guessing it was all errors and flukes tonight. Hoping tomorrow goes better. :(

No, but supply chain problems are ultimately his fault considering he's you know, the supply chain guy.

I'll agree with that. However, I'd blame the site crashing on someone else.

Also, I'll agree with everyone here, I think it's ridiculous to launch a product and then not be able to deliver it to ready and willing consumers in a timely manner.

any thoughts as to why the App would say the iphone5 is available for pick up, but when trying at apple.com it says unavailable for pick up & which would you trust more?

Has anyone tried having two different browsers open and trying to order two different phones (i.e.: a 32 OR a 64) and seeing if one or the other is in?
Does that make sense?
I've been trying for an AT&T 64 for a few nights, but I could live with a 32. Would it work to have, say, chrome open with a 32 in the cart, and safari open with a 64 in the cart and hitting "locate" on both?

You can do it in the same browser, even. But one of them has to be in the eppstore (employee discount) ... they don't share a cart. Most big companies have access to this. There's no discount on iPhone.

Tonight, I was lucky enough to snag a 32gb white iPhone 5 on AT&T from the Boylston store in Boston. Would have preferred a black, but I'm just content to have gotten one!

What time did you try at? I looked at exactly 10pm and couldn't see any available.

I purchased an Iphone 5 16GB Black ATT online on 10/20/2012 via the personal pickup. I received an email confirmation that it was processing.

On Sunday 10/21/2012 I received an email saying that my Iphone 5 was nopw in stock and ready for pickup. The store of choice is located one hour away from me. I drove the right after receiving the email. When I arrived I went to an Apple employee and handed him my paperwork and informed him that I was there to pickup my Iphone 5.

He then entered the order number into his handheld device. He then informed me that the order seemed to be cancled. I told him that was impossible since I have paperwork showing me that the order exsists. He had no idea why that was happening and left to see if he could find out why. He returned 15 minutes later with an excuse that there was a glitch in their system and they were unable to sell me the phone.

His only resolution was for me to buy the phone again and wait for the glitch to be fixed then they would reimburse my funds. I had purchased the phone with an Apple gift card and did not want to purchase it again since I had all of the proper correct paperwork showing that I had already purchased it.

Needless to say I left on Sunday without my phone.

I called the store on Monday to see if it was resolved. It was not. I then contacted Apple corporate and was told they knew nothing of any glitch. They also showed that the order was in fact still there and they extended the pickup date out to 11/15/2012.

Two hours after speakiong to Apple customer service I was contacted twice from the Apple store where my Iphone was located. They informed me that the problem was resolved and Icould pickup my phone any time. I was not able to get there until Tuesday 11/23/2012. When I arrived I again handed my paperwork to an Apple employee. He then informed me again that the order was canceled and I could not have the phone.

After lengthy talks with several people at the Apple store. It was decided that I leave the phone and wait for the system to update again. I was told to call in 3 to 5 days to see if things were fixed.

My question is has this happened to anyone else trying to do a personal pickup at Apple store?

I look forward to hearing from anyone.

I had a slight hiccup to my pick up tonight as well. The Specialist I talked to said that their pick up system was not working and that I wouldn't be able to pick up my phone. They said something about people getting charged twice for their order? I asked them to just try it and she was like well we don't have that model in stock anyway but I told her that I reserved it and got an e-mail this morning saying it was ready to pick up. She went to the back and brought it out and the transaction went totally fine. She told me that I should still watch out to see if I get charged twice. I heard that they weren't able to activate iPhones for AT&T or something. It was pretty stressful to walk into a store thinking you were picking up your phone and then having them tell you that their system is down, try again tomorrow.

Scored two, my wife and I got a 64 gb one white, one black. AT&T at the king of Prussia store in Philly pa. I did the 10 pm thing on line for a week then these these became available about 10 days ago on a Sunday night. So far we like them them a lot!

I tried to reserve one last night, nothing. Went to the Apple store at 9:30am this morning, first in line and got a 32GB White AT&T. Either the stock doesn't update correctly, or they are setting allot aside.

Wow - tonight was a frightmare on the West Coast - the system seized and hiccuped - couldn't get through at the top of the hour....

Now nothing...

I'm gonna have to go through this process for a third freaking time. I swear this iPhone has been the worst I've had...never before has this happened. First reserved beat to hell so just got a white they had. Took it home and wifi doesn't work. Returned and reserved a black...now the power/sleep button just went kaput....never dropped it, it's in a case and just like that it stopped working. Now once again to play this game.

Wow! Tonight was a wild ride on the online order system... Kept getting the "oops" error and booted out to the main store menu. I kept re-inputting my iPhone selection and cell account information over and over via the web site, to no avail. Simultaneously, I was trying to process the order (AT&T white 32GB) on my iPhone app. Finally, I received a GREEN "Unavailable for Pickup" message (yes, green) from the closest store to me and tried to place the order. To my surprise, it went through and I received the "Thank You" email from Apple a few minutes.

I waited a few more minutes, then went back online and entered my wife's account information for the same phone selection (to verify inventory), and discovered that there were over ten phones in my cart! After deleting all but one, I selected "Pick up" and the phone showed as "In Stock" at the closest Apple store (as well as about five others a bit farther away). In fact, the system still shows them as being in stock...

Hopefully, they were indeed in stock and I'll get the confirmation email in the morning...

Ahh it still sound crazy out there, I think I'm just going to wait a bit longer and let more of the hype die down a bit.
