I don't quite understand how this system works, so perhaps someone can help me? The Apple Store gets shipments in overnight, right? So those shipments are then reserved for the following night's reservations? Or are they available for walk-in customers? Where are the phones available for reservations coming from?

Shipments arrive at the Apple store sometime during the day or evening. That night at 10pm (most of) the iPhones that arrived that day go up for sale online for in-store pickup. It seems as though some phones are reserved for walk-ins at each store. Either way it appears your best bet is to get on at 10pm with the iphone you want in your cart and refresh the page hoping to get lucky. A phone is not reserved until your payment goes through, so if you're slow checking out someone might buy the phone while you're trying to complete the checkout process. This has happened to me twice.

See, it still doesn't make complete sense... So those phones that arrived during the day aren't available for purchase that same day by a walk-in sometime that evening -- they would instead have to wait until 10pm that night?

practically no stock for verizon cdma iphone on the east coast. Plenty of stock for AT&T models all over NY, PA, NJ, CT, RALEIGH NC, Jacksonville FL

edit: no stock for verizon 16gb but plenty for 32gb in black. Step up to 32gb and you will receive instant gratification but $100 less in your wallet.

I did just that. FINALLY got one. 32 GB white, exactly what i wanted.

VICTORY! 32GB Black ATT at the Soho store. After nearly 3 weeks of trying I'm out of the game. Good luck everyone!

PS - I spent the first couple weeks checking at 9:30 until it gave me the option to pull up the change store menu. Nothing actually shows up until 10pm or later. Prob worth refreshing from 9:58-10:15 or so.

What's the time frame when using the pick up option? How many days you have before they cancel your pick up order?

It's available at my local store! But I'm afraid to cancel my order with AT&T and then it will be unavailable when I try to get it back!

Maybe I can go early in the morning and check.... and see if they have any walk in available. I don't want to call AT&T and cancel my order and then try to reserve it and see none available.

Are you in the eastern time zone? And it's STILL available?

Yep. They're gone now... but they were until 10:45. Didn't get one since my is still on order at AT&t... and way too nervous to cancel and then miss out. If I could find one with a walk in where I could call AT&T and cancel and then buy it I'd do it.

I've yet to see available stock on 32 or 64 black. From Des Moines to Chicago area, KC, Minneapolis, Omaha....nothing.

Anyone find any verizon ones near houston?

32gb AT&T black at southlake and stonebriar

32gb AT&T black at st louis, kc mo, chicago, wi, mi, FRANKLIN, NASHVILLE, Atlanta , MS, AR, lyndhurst, akron, Roseville MN, Minneapolis, MN

16GB white AT&T model is only in stock at the Uptown Minneapolis store for Minnesota! :( not sure I want to drive that far, and in the city traffic. It's rather annoying because the past nights, all/most of the Minnesota store have been getting stock, but not tonight apparently.

How is the stock for Friday nights? Or is there no sort of pattern?
