iPhone 5 Reservation at Apple Store

apparently some were able to do so the first weekend it went on sale but now it seems damn near impossible...which i find kinda interesting since I read posts about people having the new phone but taking it in exchanging it for a different one. I think I may try this weekend or just wait til next month. I haven't had much sleep and I can't continue on this path of no sleep. LOL

good luck to everyone that is trying to get one.
 
I'm beginning to lose faith in the online reservation system. I'm really contemplating driving to the nearest apple store right when they open and just see if they'll have any.

So I hope the system actually works tonight and/or they get a shipment in tonight. I imagine they'd probably keep a small reserve of stock to sell over the weekend (but that's just pure speculation on my part).

This is the same thing I was told when I talked to a specialist yesterday. He did also mention that they get shipments everyday except on Sunday.

They're not selling them to walk-ins. My sister was there at 10am Wednesday and was asked for her reservation. Then she was told they are only selling them through the reservation system until they're told otherwise.

try Radio Shack. the site milo.com showed there were Verizon 5s in stock in SoCal(LA). they open at 9am.

I tried that yesterday and this morning and was unsuccessful. However there wasnt any stock the night before on the apple website either.

well, that was the dealbreaker, I'm not gonna try it then. Good thing I checked this thread as I was just about to head out to an apple store lolz.

I guess it's gonna be another late night for me tonight.
 
So get this I called my local Radio Shack here in CT and they have iPhone 5 avail but I asked "I can purchase it out right correct" He said "Yes but you have to buy apple care with it." Is that even legal, forcing an extended warranty on you?

Can I complain to Radio Shack corporate?
 
milo.com has been pretty accurate except that every radioshack with the iPhone is stock is already holding them.

Standard tactic of Radio Shack. No you dont have to but I would just get the Applecare+ then cancel or return it.
 
In responce to my post above.

The Power of twitter is fantastic. I have lots of followers and part of a news organization so I decided to send a tweet calling the store out, about my experience I just had with my local radio shack tactic. Telling me I need to purchase Apple care with the iPhone5.
I attached a screen shot of the convo..... It is amazing how quick they tweeted back to me, cause I am sure they don't want this going any further.

There is now a sign in front of the 5th Ave Apple Store saying they do not have any iPhone 5 in stock and to ask a "specialist" how to get one (assuming they will tell you to reserve after 10pm).

Also, I just tried the Apple Store app to check stock, and for every store it shows stock as "Available Nov 2" so either it has no idea about the stock at all, or they really expect not to have any available for walk-ins until Nov 2.
 
anyone successful with nightime reservation of iphone 5?

I have tried the past few evenings in my area and there has not been any Apple store listed in 3 states(NYC, NJ, Philadelphia) with 32g black available for reservation. This is with checking at 10pm.

Anyone else with similar experiences?

That date has increased by one day at a time since reservations started. It goes away after 10PM when you can actually check stock, and then comes back the next day. I would anticipate that tomorrow it will say Nov 3.

Wow, if they don't them in NY, THEN WHAT THE HELL?
 
Screw it, I just ordered it online. At least it will give me time to sell my Unlocked iPhone 4 32gb
 
Was wondering this as well. I've taken a look on the site, but they were all unavailable no matter when I checked.
 
Did anyone get one from the S.F. Bay Area last night. I didn't see anything available from 10:14 to 10:24.
 
Yes it works like a charm.

Yes, I was able to get 2 phones from 2 different stores. The key is to check multiple times after 10pm... some stores don't update their inventory exactly at 10pm. My guess is that after 11pm, they have probably updated their inventory for the night.
