Has anyone been able to reserve a black AT&T 64 gb model for in-store pickup? I haven't see it on the reservation system in Southern California. Has anyone had any luck in Southern California or elsewhere?

I got one of the white 64gb AT&T models in LA. I also was originally waiting for the black but after seeing the white one in person I pulled the trigger.

ALSO, HOW TO CHECK MULTIPLE PHONES:
Just add all the models you might be interested in to your cart, don't delete any of the models. You will get a red warning notice saying that you have multiple unqualified items in your cart. Ignore that message. When you click on the "Pick up in store" and type in your zipcode, there will be pulldown menu with a list of all the phones you have in your cart. It makes for quick and easy method of checking multiple models. When you mind 'the one' quickly delete all the duds and checkout.
 
Still haven't gotten my pickup email...

I got my processing email but not a confirmation pickup :confused: worried cuz I had ordered on line last night and never got any email at all so went to Apple store with screen shot of order and they didn't have it but no charge on card either.

Tonight the charge is showing and got at least one email.

On a side note odd thing happened in store today. They had me log on to my Apple account on one of their laptops and it didn't show in my history or in my cart BUT as the manager and I are standing there we watch things being added to my cart:eek: like over $3k. She asks another manager and he says he's seen it happen but it's just their computers they won't be on mine at home. When we get half way home I log on my iPad and now there's over 5k$ in my cart. I call Apple and they tell me someone at the store is logged on my account. I call retail store they reboot computer and I'm finally able to delete all the junk from my cart.

Well when i go to order tonight I get that no phones in my area and I check there was a S.C zipcode I didn't put in. So I put my zip in and no 16g so I go back and try a 32g and now it has a kentucky zip :mad:

Did you press the submit order button to the right after you click agree and process? I think you might've missed the last step.

I think that's what happened the other night, it's the only thing I can figure. Tonight I was sure to do that and got all the way to the page that says it's preparing order for pickup.

I still haven't received my pickup confirmation email yet too. Maybe we will receive later in the morning?

The rep that I talked on chat said that they receive shipments every night if not then every 2 days or so.
 
Just to make it clear, did you refresh your cart page or did you close the window that tells you to put in your zip code and re-open it?

Well what I did was I clicked "Change Model" (or whatever the text is) in the shopping cart underneath the phone, because I wanted to see if perhaps another model was available. I did that a few times and finally tried the original one that I wanted again and the availability had been updated.

I didn't get mine until around 7:45am, so don't worry about it. If you got the "Your order is being processed" email with your order number then you're set.

I used the reserve and collect his week and found that how they allocate the iPhone 5 is not on a first come first served basis. I registered twice on the same day with 2 different emails and names. One was placed at 09:00 and the other around 15:00 and bot iPhones I was trying to reserve were the same. To my surprise my second order was successful but the 09:00hrs one was not.

This service seems to be pot luck and not first come first served.

just got the pick up e-mail at 7:28AM EST, now will apple hold the phone for me until they close today? as long as i have the pick up e-mail i will be safe to go any time today right?

i ordered 2 white 32gb for at&t, only received one "ready for pickup" email but not for the other :(

exactly my experience with regard to the UK reservation. Made two reservations the other day, one at 9am and one at about 3pm for a 64GB white contract free. Got an email at 23.54 that night to say the second reservation had been successful and I picked the phone up yesterday. So I think its a bit random, maybe a lottery.
 
Ordered last night and picked up 8:00 am :)

I ordered two last night, initially i was trying with my iPad, was showing unavailable. Tried with my iP4 and it was available:eek:. Ordered one at 9:56 pm and second one for my bro @ 9:55. Picked both of them on my way to work from Fifth Ave.:D.

I was starting to get worried that the order went through with it somehow going out of stock.

But i just received my pickup email for the 2nd order! cant wait to pick them up!

I reserved one last night and neither my processing email nor the pick-up email stated anything about a timeline for pick-ups. There was an FAQ section at the bottom of each email and a hold limitation was not mentioned. Your best bet is to call the store you plan on reserving from and asking how long they will hold it.
