Ordered thru VZW business on 10/9, shipped today, expect to arrive tomorrow 10/18!

32gb & 64gb blk

Hmmm. I ordered a 16GB black on 10/8 from the local verizon store, and I got a ship date of 2 November. That's a heck of a lot slower than your Verizon experience. :(

A nice rep says that all the phones are being built and even amounts are going to suppliers such as att, verizon and sprint. Because of att being the biggest of the suppliers they are shipping the slowest of the suppliers but still quicker than apple because apple has the most orders. 16 gigs are still the one that are in the highest demand but they are expected to arrive to most apple customers by the time that is estimated ship date. 64 are the second highest in demand. 32 are the ones that are shipping out faster but only by about a week. The white iphones all across the board are not being made as quickly as the black phones.

I hope this little bit of info is of some help.

I dont know how this is at all possible because i also spoke with them and they said they skew their supply to match their demand. This means they make say 2 or 3 16gb black phones for every 1 white 32 gb to ensure that everybody gets phones at the same time, this is done in an attempt at fairness

I ordered a Black Verizon Iphone 5 16 Gig on Sept. 25 on apple.com and I was able to get a hold of one last Friday at a Sams Club cause I got tired of waiting. Today a credit card charge from Apple goes through and it looks like they are shipping the apple.com order. Weird huh?

Finally got notice that my i5 shipped today, it says estimated delivery on Oct 23. How long is the usual estimated delivery time for fedex through verizon that any of you have experienced?

My CC shows a charge today from Apple (ordered Sep 26th via Apple.com 64gb AT&T Black) still in the processing phase on the Apple Order Status Page...hopefully it ships soon!

Ordered the 16 GB White iPhone 5 on September 21 through AT&T online and today is October 16th. Still NOTHING!

Update 10/19/2012 - Received email that it shipped via UPS on 10/18 and the phone will arrive on Monday 10/22! PISSED! Nice 24 hour service huh?

For anyone else reading this, I went to the apple store and they told me that you can go to apple.com between 10pm and 4am every day and try to find the model iphone that you want and choose pick up in store option. The thing that pisses me off about this is that this means there are PLENTY of phones to go around, and they aren't fulfilling the pre-orders on a first come, first serve basis. I have a friend at work that got her phone 3 weeks ago by doing the 10pm to 4am trick.

Yes, this is messed up for anybody who ordered online, BUT understandable given demand and Apple is going to engage every trick in the book to pad their 4th quarter numbers. I attempted to add a line just for curiosity to see what was available with in store pickup and its basically impossible where I am (South Florida) saw the In Stock option but by the time I clicked got an error message saying it was no longer available - they had one in Brandon (Tampa) that was available and I was contemplating making the 3hr drive but then by the time I refreshed it was no longer available either. Played around with different zip codes and its definitely harder depending on the area.

Orderd 2 16gb blacks via Verizon online on 10/7. As of yesterday still processing with a ship date of 11/2.

Cancelled order yesterday evening and reordered 2 32gb blacks in hopes of getting them sooner. My credit card just got charged and my order status has changed to a blank shipping/tracking status page. Fingers crossed its on its way!

You will need to check between 10pm and 4am EST at apple.com. That's what I was told by Apple Store employee and my friend from work. She did it and picked up the next day. I walked into apple and asked them if they had any white iPhone5 in stock and they had 1 more left in stock, but there was a lady ahead of me who wanted a black one and they didn't have anymore so she "settled" for the white one. lol My luck.

I ordered two 32 gb AT&T through Apple.com, one white, one black, on 9/25. The white one just switched to preparing to ship, though charges have gone through for both. Hopefully not much longer.

I'm just trying to figure out when people ordered versus when they are shipping the phones. My main question is are the phones arriving before, in, or after the projected arrival window.

Ordered Sept 21 through AT&T - the website says shipping in 14 to 21 BUSINESS days (Monday-Friday) excluding holidays. Mine shipped at day #19, so yes, in the window.

I ordered from Verizon on 10/10/12 and the website said it would ship 10/26/12, It actually shipped 10/18/12 with an arrival date of 10/22/12.

My white 16GB iPhone 5 has just shipped within the last couple of hours!

Ordered and processed on 9/23 through AT&T, instore. Went off backorder 10/19 sometime after 1pm and received a tracking number sometime afte 7pm.

Good luck to the rest of you!!!

I ordered two 16g White from the Verizon kiosk at BJ's on 9/29 and I checked this morning and they have shipped and will be here by Tuesday - yay!! My estimated ship date was 10/26 like a lot of the rest of you. So It was about a week early. Very happy :) Good luck to the rest of you!

Ordered 16GB White from Apple.com on 9/26
Card charged yesterday and status changed to Shipped with ETA of 10/26.

----------

For clarification; when I ordered the estimated shipping window was between 10/26 and 11/1. So it seems like Apple is on time with some people getting a couple days early. Standard shipping probably means on time. Faster shipping may mean a day or two sooner.

I ordered a 16GB black directly from AT&T on 9/24. Yesterday midday it went off backorder. Last night around 11, I received notification that it had shipped from Fort Worth, with a tracking number. As of 11:21 pm last night, it was at DFW Airport, and this morning tracking indicates it's scheduled to arrive here in Tennessee on Tuesday 10/23 by end of day. I'm hoping for Monday, though.... maybe. :) As of right now, they have not put through an official charge for the phone, only the initial authorization the day I ordered it, which I believe fell off after a few days.

So, I want to order a black iPhone 5 AT&T version. Should I order through the Apple site or the AT&T site, and should I get the 32 gb version or the 64 gb version? I want to get the phone as quickly as I can, so I'll pay the extra $100 for the 64 gb if I need to. Thanks in advance.

I waited a whole 2 days. I ordered it Friday, got it Monday. A black, 32 GB iPhone from Sprint. Sorry to all you folks who are still waiting. And for the record, my phone is not scratched, or otherwise damaged in any way. One more thing I have to NOT complain about Sprint. Friendly, cheap service, never had a single issue with them in the 14+ years I've been with them.

You can apparently watch to reserve one at your local apple store starting at 10pm to 4am. I'm not sure of the site though.

I have been trying this, but there has been absolutely no iPhone 5's available for next day pickup in or around the Austin, Texas area. And I also called my local AT&T store yesterday and asked them if they had any iPhone 5's in stock and they told me that they haven't gotten any since launch day!
It seems that Apple is having a hard time keeping up with demand, that's for sure.

Try an apple store that serves a college town.
