I care about the features, NOT about the look or shape or how shiny it is.

Shape it like a wedge of cheese, but
put in a better lens with image stabilization and a real flash
and a bigger battery so it runs all day.

And please, rubbercoat the thing instead of making it all smooth and slippery; it's not as pretty, but the other choice is having to buy a case for it...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only physical evidence of the iPad 2 redesign was 3rd party case manufacturers based in china.

Were there part leaks for the ipad2? Maybe a flex cable or something.

Evidence of a 4S model is in no way evidence of a lack of a 5 model.

Not necessarily. But if there's evidence of a 4S phone, where is the evidence of the redesigned 5 phone? In iOS 5, the only model identifier is N94. We recently heard about a revised iPhone 4 in AT&T's database (which suggests that the iPhone 4 will remain available after the release of the next phone--the iPhone 4S is supposedly the low-end replacement for the iPhone 3GS).

Believe me, I would love to see a redesigned iPhone on Tuesday. I probably won't buy it if there isn't. But at this point, we have no reason to believe that this is true. We have heard from reputable sources that the next iPhone will look similar to the iPhone 4.

Could you point out to me which of those is evidence of no iPhone 5?

These are evidence of the 4S phone. Combine it with the rumors of one phone being announced on Tuesday, and that is your evidence of no redesign. Don't want to believe the rumors? That's fine, but they're not any more or less evidence of a redesigned iPhone than the cases are.

Lol Rude! Some of us do try to keep up with the most up to date information so we can provide our customers with good advice, you know. We aren't all there to make a buck dude.....For what it's worth though, I have my doubts that this is from an actual corporate AT&T store just based off the packaging. Could be wrong though, as you seem to think most of us are.....

What I'm hoping the poster meant was "If they claim to have insider info, I'd be weary." I know several AT&T store employees, and the run the gamut from "say whatever it takes to make a sale and get the commission," to talking rumors and jailbreaking with me. Its really an individual basis, but usually these front-line employees have very little if any advance knowledge. I'd even say the same for Apple store employees; I'd bet money that not even store management knows whats going to go down on Tuesday, let alone regular joe employees.

Evidence enough for me! No way AT&T would actually ship iPhone 5 cases to stores by chance!

Until Tim Cook takes the stage and announces that the only new phone this year is a "4S" (God I hate that name), we still know nothing. That's all I'm trying to say here.

I've seen that kind of crappy packaging in my local AT&T store. It's all over the place.

Not necessarily. But if there's evidence of a 4S phone, where is the evidence of the redesigned 5 phone? ...

Your point (this one) is well taken and accurate, but there is a huge difference between circumstantial evidence and concrete evidence, both in what they are and what they imply. It's odd for us to still be talking about semantics, but the weight of "concrete" (pardon the pun) shouldn't be thrown around when there has been none.

As I stated earlier in the thread, after the prototype in a bar fiasco of the iPhone 4 and patent litigation ongoing, I'm sure Apple could and would go to great lengths to ensure a radical new design wouldn't be leaked ahead of time. Do I personally think we'll see a redesign? I honestly don't know, and that in itself speaks volumes for the subterfuge this go 'round. There have been few if any Apple events in recent history where rumor sites haven't had a pretty firm grasp on the content beforehand. The fact that this one has a huge question mark still is a great indicator that Apple may be upping its secrecy game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Casemate is taking the gamble here. Something like: AT&T agrees to exclusively cary Casemate cases for the first month if Casemate ships AT&T their best estimate of what the next iPhone will be today.

If Casemate is right, they're ahead of everyone else. If Casemate is wrong, they have to take back a bunch of useless cases from AT&T.

I need a new phone so badly, and will buy whatever Apple releases. However, if they don't release this new redesigned phone I'm gonna be really disappointed.:p

As much as I'd like this to be true, it's just an "Authorized Reseller" ordering accessories on a hunch. I'm a former employee of the corporate stores and that looks waaay to cheap to be packaging for a new product. Where's all that hideous orange? But gosh if i5 is real and looks like the earlier dummy I'm in love.

I agree with you. We know nothing, and that's why there isn't any reason to be particularly excited by these cases.

Point taken. :)

I have no doubt that Apple stepped up their game this time around, but once it leaves their labs and hits the factories, it becomes much harder for Apple to maintain its tight hold on its secrets.

I know for a fact they don't know anything. We've tried pumping our management for information all week, and their just as clueless as we are. In fact probably more clueless, as we still haven't gotten any confirmation for that reported vacation blackout for the first two weeks of October. We actually also today tried looking for the supposed inventory leaks that supposedly revealed the iPhone 4S, but couldn't find it anywhere. Same thing with the case leak from AT&T today. Like I said in an earlier post, the only reason we know it's coming is because IT has been puttering around the computer's updating iTunes.

It's just a tad annoying sometimes that people do tend to characterize all AT&T employees as borderline evil and clueless. I'm all about commission, but not if your just going to return the phone in the end anyways. Some of us do try lol.

This seems just as legitimate as anything I've seen in regards to the 4s. Here's the thing too, that isn't some Chinese guys hand. That's a black guys hand and we all know that there aren't any black people in China soooooooo get where I'm going with this?

Oh, ps. I really hope this is real. I hate the 4's and am long overdue for a new phone. Souping up the innards of that ugly, uncomfortable phone would make me angry. And you wouldn't like me... when I'm angry. :D

I'm gonna say thats a camera button on the right. They will make the mute pure software only. The button on the right side of the phone will be the camera shutter button. You heard it here first!

That's not gonna happen and if it does, that'll be the blunder of the iPhone 5. Go google image search any major brand of camera; Sony, panasonic, canon, nikon, leica, etc. The shutter button is ALWAYS.... Top right. So unless the current button becomes the shutter release, I don't see it happening. Besides, if you jailbreak your phone and you should always jailbreak when you can, there is an app called camera buttons that let's you use the volume buttons as camera or video shutter release. If you end up right, I feel bad for Apple, because the media will tease them over it.

The packaging of ATT accessories typically has the ATT logo on them, and these photos do not.

Well, I dunno about you guys, but this is as close to confirming an iPhone 5 as we will get before Oct 4th.

For me, this is mighty clear. iPhone 5 and 4S coming out on Oct 4th, with iPhone 5 being the glorious phone that we have discussed so lovingly about. iPhone 4S for people who love the iPhone 4 design (which there are many).

Pretty much all the signs pointed to this. Besides, leaked cases are so much better than parts leaks. What can you possibly get from a parts leak? A comparison about how different a part looks? I doubt you could have drawn as many conclusions about the design of the new phone as we have been with these case leaks. And these case makers definitely had the physical handset to work off of, not just CAD drawings. Unfortunately for us, no one leaked a picture of it, but that prototype is probably still out there somewhere.

Either way, getting me an iPhone 5 as soon as possible this month! Anyone else think it's likely that the iPhone 5 will launch much sooner than expected, considering how these accessories are proliferating everywhere, before the damn phone has even been announced?

I've seen that kind of crappy packaging in my local AT&T store. It's all over the place.

Are you sure it's an actual corporate store? Like I said, the packaging for the accessories we have now all have some orange emblazoned on them. Especially the new stuff. None of them say "Cell Phone Accessory" on them either. They usually have the manufacturer listed on the packaging. Like I said, I'm down for a redesigned iPhone 5, but I don't think this is packaging from a corporate store.
