I'm a seasoned geek and I couldn't care less if the Motorola Atrix had a quad core processor, thunderbolt connectivity and a mini display port. It has no good apps. That's what makes a phone these days. Good hardware is only half the equation. Ask Nokia, they are learning the hard way.

Not true. Nokia doesn't even have good hardware anymore. They have 12.99mm thickness, 640x360 resolution, 1200mAh battery.

It's alway someone huh, if it's not crapping yourselves over the russians invading, it's the arabs, before long it'll be the chinese. You americans must go through a lot of toilet paper ..

I love Russians and the Chinese and I go through a lot of toilet paper.

I'm sure its the people who think the battery life will be 1 hour. I, on the other hand, am very excited.

See this is what i'm trying to understand ..

A dual core A5 is giving more compute power for the same energy consumption. So, it would use less energy than we currently use to produce the same compute power as we currently get ..

You want the greater compute power? Why is that? Again, i'm not judging, i genuinely want to know what it is you're using that makes you want more crunch over better battery life ...

I think its just going to make the device more capable. Better gaming of course and more powerful apps. What apps need that kind of power, I cannot say. Like my grandma used to say about food, better to have too much than not enough.

Software is a crapshoot. Who knows about that anymore. I mean, even the predictable iLife series has stopped coming out on a yearly basis.

Lion a crapshoot for 2011 when Apple is already sending out developer betas? Really?

You have a point there, and a wise grandma to boot.

Augmented reality apps no doubt take a lot of juice, there was that excellent app that did live translation of whatever you pointed your camera at, eg a signpost, it would take the text, translate it, and then make it appear on the screen as though the signpost were written in english. pretty cool, though i forget what it's called now.

No doubt stuff like google goggles would only be made better, or that siri personal assistant.

Though, with all that said, and whilst it would be exceptionally cool .. i still have to charge my phone way more often than i like ...

Nice to get some solid evidence for something we already knew about!

People who are afraid the battery life is going to be 1hr, don't be.
The A5 CPU along with the GPU will actually use battery more efficiently, and thus the battery life will probably remain the same, hey it might even be able to give us a bit more battery life.

Its amazing. These already powerful mobile computers keep getting smaller and smaller, and better and more powerful.

I'm holding out hope that Apple will do what I _know_they're capable of, build a great iPhone 5.

Now's the time to cease with the smart ass, condescending comments ("you're holding it wrong Bozo") and build a world class iPhone.

Come on Apple you can do it.

Show Google you're the best!

Or screw up again, insult us, play the pitiful victim ("they all do it") and YOU APPLE, may be the one to receive more push back than ever.

Yet that said, who knows, your gullible customers may buy whatever you toss in the box. Good or mediocre.

It's time to get honest and treat your customers as the valuable assets they are. Thousands & thousands are waiting, money in hand.

It's up to you Apple, to perform, no excuses.

Nice!
Send that over to Steve at sjobs@apple.com

Steve Jobs, June 2011;

"So you've got your dual core iPhone 5....improved processing power, larger screen, more RAM, all in the slimmest form factor of any cell phone in the world today. And we asked ourselves...what else do you guys need?

...I'll tell you what....guys.....this time we've gone all out....

...we're bringing augmented PORN apps to iPhone 5..."

iPhone 4 is already a great phone. The only ones who still have issue with the antenna now are those shysters at Consumer Reports tying to hit whore off bad iPhone press.

iPhone 5 will basically be the great iPhone4 + improved verizon antenna + A5 and iOS5.

Millions of sales of the iPhone 5 will back that up, doesn't matter if you think all those people are "brainwashed" or not. Frankly your opinion doesn't mean jack at that point anyway.

Thanks for letting us know that the iPhone 5 is going to be a dual core...
How is this a rumor or news? Of course it'll be a dual core. The motorola Atrix, LG 3D, etc.. are dual cores. If the iPhone 5 wasn't then they are behind the game. No one will attempt to buy it unless sheep purchase it anyways from the sleek design and features excluding the dual core part, which wouldn't surprise me whatsoever in this dysfunctional society. Which is an understatement. (Should be another word for it), but it's not worth the effort in prolonging my rant against Apple's flaws & secrecy in redundancy.

This is why I'd switch/disown other then their apps which we can duplicate & get within time, I'd get out of this infinite loop hole of brainwashed of a faq that'll linger worse than a gay guy complaining about his washed out jeans and cold bagel n cream cheese.

Sorry to say. But had to be said.

(me being real)

I'm not sure iPhone 5 really needs an A5 processor. iPhone 4 is hardly a slouch when it comes to getting things done. I'd much rather more battery life, or it not to drop calls if I don't use a case.

But maybe I'm old fashioned?

Yes, yes it does. I've had mine do a few random lag pauses already (I'm just glad I'm not still on my 3G). It's not bad, but it's there (only reason I notice is because at the moment it's still the newest iphone and yet it feels like it's already being outpaced by the software on requirements. If it was already replaced I'd probably just shrug it off as, "well, they're making this stuff for the newest phone now". Except they aren't).

And even if it doesn't, faster when it comes to computers is never unwelcome.
