Serious question: people are pre-ordering a case for a phone that hasn't been released yet?
What else are you going to protect it with, if you get your iPhone shipped to you on launch day? ;-)

AFAIK there aren't any other cases around.

I hate cases but 6 months ago I bought a J Crew brown leather snap case for my black ip5 and it is more gorgeous now then ever, beautifully aged. Fun Fact: the CEO of J Crew is on the Apple board of directors. Coincidence? probably.

Dont worry guys i fixed it!

I see "non" myself, but either way it's an embarrassing oversight by Ive. I can only think he must be stretched too thin, as this kind of detail would normally not be missed. Ive is more thoughtful (in a design sense) than that.

Or maybe it was totally deliberate. "It's a case and should read like a case," would be consistent with his design philosophy.

Go get a case after you get your phone?

I just wouldn't figure that a case was something you'd need to pre-order.

That case is hideous.

----------

These claims of Apple's new case for iPhone 5C looking like Connect Four are way out of line.

Connect Four's holes are 6 x 7, whereas the iPhone case's are 5 x 7. Completely different.

Plus, you can easily tell the difference because you won't see the letters "hon" nonsensically floating in any of the holes of a Connect Four game.

Are you serious? The iPhone 5C/case totally looks like a Connect Four game. It is hideous.

I can tell you exactly what is going to happen here.

Dust and microscopic grit particles with get in the holes on the back of this case, and tiny movements will abrade the back of the phone.

We will see over time people showing photos of these abrasion rings in the shiny coating on the back of the phones.

+1 Perfect imitation of the average humorless MR poster.

HAHAH You can't patent round corners!
HAHAHA You're holding it wrong!
HAHAHAHAHA iGarabage!! AMIRITE?!
HAHAH Careful Apple will sue!!!
HAHAHAHA iFruits!

HILARIOUS!!!

Ew, those are really ugly. Then again, so are most of my friends' iPhone cases. I guess they're nerds, not artists. Those "half" cases drive me nuts to look at.

Not only do they look very cheezy (get it?) but they will allow grit to enter and scratch the soft plastic casing of the phone.

Of course I disagree about the look (because I love polkadots) and I also don't think the polycarbonate is "soft" plastic. But if it starts to scratch then I'll have to pick something else, or just let the battle scars accumulate to prove I really loved the thing by time I gave it up.

You should see the back of my U2 Special Edition iPod. Ain't just the band's autographs on there, I can tell you that. That iPod looks like it went to Iraq and back a few times. I feel zero compulsion to keep stuff looking like it has never been used.

I know it's so uncool to let even the faintest hairline scratch blemish get on one's precious mobile entertainment devices, but really I don't care. So I'll give these dotty cases a go and see what happens!
