So my sister and brother-in-law both picked up a iPhone 5c over the weekend.

My sister wanted 16GB white but the store was out of stock, so she got blue.

And then my brother-in-law got blue too.

So that makes three blue 5c's in the family.

Dangit I wanted to be unique. :(:p

Because the wallpaper matches the phone color???

while i love the sarcasm... no... its not just the fact that your wallpaper matches the color of your back case. Its the whole thing.

Its because the entire ios 7 experience from the colorfull design of the icons (which are as bright as can be) to the wallpapers, to the design of the icons themselves, to the overall shape of the device (round edges, glossy feel), seems to be designed for iphone 5c. One compliments the other perfectly.

To me, ios 7 looks kind of... strange in an iphone 5/5s. It just doesnt seem that it is something designed perfectly for it. I am not saying it is bad or ugly, i am just saying that, for me, it is better suited for iphone 5c.

I skimmed through tons of pages here and didn't see an answer to my question...

How are the back shells holding up to scratching for people using it case-less? I was in the apple store Tuesday and the display units looked scratch free therefore I pose my question to you guys.

Perhaps too early days for users to have scratched their new phones?

Well I mean for "most" users who don't put the phone in a case and set it down on tables etc daily. Are you guys seeing scuffing on the back? THe units in the apple store were scratch free and I know those get beat up. Loooking for real world experience from you guys.

Looks perfectly suited to my iphone 5s in space grey. :)

This is the same worry I have. I'd love to go caseless, but the phone is rarely in my pocket. It's either sitting on a desk or in a dashboard compartment in my car

The 5c does not scratch. I don't even think it's plastic that you're touching it's some kind of industrial plastic.

There's never been a phone like this. It's definately holding up better than my iPhone 5 did.

I'm still surprised at how much it shines. The shine comes from within.

Lol, yeah it feels like some kind of super plastic. I was extremely shocked the demo store units were scratch free. Those things get ABUSED. The area around the lightning port is scratched from people jamming them into the charger dock they have set up. That's expected.

This is A grade I've honestly never seen this before. There's nothing to compare it to.

It's soo shiny.

I knew when I opened the 5c box, I was like "oh my goodness"

And the 5c fits right into an iPhone 5 case, the only thing is the volume button shape which throws off an otherwise perfect fit.

I'd like to have a 5c case though it would give it a really good weight to it.

I'm rocking the green, wife has the yellow, and my daughter has the pink 5C...dope phone and will definitely last me until the next iPhone.

Hi i have had my yellow 5c from launch and its been without a case, has to be in my opinion, why cover that lovely cover
Any way mine gets thrown all over, on desk at work / home, kids using it, thrown in center dock of car etc etc and its showing no scuffs or scratches at all
The phone looks as good as i got it and still love this phone!!:):)

I've had my white 5C for a day now and absolutely LOVE it. I played with a few in shops, but it's obviously not the same. I had a few second thoughts about getting the white and thought I should have gone for green or yellow, but I love the white and the way it goes with everything, especially all my other Apple kit whether it's white, silver or black.
I honestly prefer the feel of it to a 5/5S with the smooth edges too. The plastic almost feels like ceramic, but without the coldness. When I hold it and my S3 at the same time, the S3 feels like a cheap toy. I think that's mainly because of the weight though. Personally I prefer my phone to have a bit of heft to it.
Another big difference coming from the S3 is the screen size obviously. It is noticeable, especially when watching TV, sports, etc but it's not too small. I couldn't go back to 3.5" now though, that's just teeny. I remember Jonny Ive talking about how 4" was best for using it with one hand. I called BS at the time, but might just eat my hat now. I have big hands, but tended to use the S3 with two as, although I could manage with one it wasn't comfortable. I knows it's OS related, but hated the keyboard on the S3 (either Samsung or Android) and found it really inaccurate, even in landscape. I could barely get a single word right first go. With the 5C I can use it in portrait with no problems.

It's all very personal, but I love the 5C. It may not be as premium as the 5S, but it is a premium phone to me. It is really nice to have something different from the norm as well. Not that I'm an attention whore (far from it), but nearly everyone I work with has an iPhone and a few have got a 5S already, but no one batted an eye when they pull them out, but nearly everyone wanted to see my 5C (I'm going naked btw). It certainly got a lot of "Oooooo's". :)

I've dropped mine twice, against a wood floor. I work for a fiberglass company, lots of abrasive dust. My blue 5c still looks brand new, although I would recommend a screen protector.

Had mine for a week now. Still as shiny and new as the first day I got it. I use it naked and it I don't take too much care with it either. I bought it to be durable and abused and so far it's holding up.

In lieu of a screen protector I've just decided to do my best in keeping it to its own pocket and not being wreckless.

This morning on my drive into work I realized the pocket my iPhone was in also contained a few coins from the night before. Gah! I hope it didn't scratch the screen.

Got my Blue 32gb 5C this afternoon and I'm in love!! Very impressed with the build quality and feels very nice in the hand.
Have got a clear plastic case on the way as I'm a bit OCD about scratches

I don't use a case but this is the first iphone in years where after a month it still looks as shiny new and unscathed as it did when I opened it!

My wife bought yesterday the white one and I love her and it :) I compared the 5c and the 5s a lot and the round edges and everything is simply perfect. Now I definitely need one, too :)

So after about 16 days of waiting I finally got my blue 5C yesterday I LOVE IT!

Thanks for this thread inspiring me to get one!

I'd be curious to know if there are any 5C owners that don't like their device. It seems that those bag on it the most don't own it nor have any plans to own it.
