really...did the 3G/S cheapen the brand? the colored ipod minis?
or is just cheap now because you have a metal one? oooohhh....
Simple really with these kinds....Steve Jobs plastic = not cheap. Tim Cook plastic = cheap.

not at all -- there was no flaw. despite hang-wringing by the tech blogs, the dropped call data showed there was no issue. youtube videos showed there was no issue (all phones lose bars when cupped tightly). the free bumpers were an inexpensive PR move. watch the press announcement and review the data.
then just try it yourself -- find an iphone4 and make a call. it works flawlessly.
5C is not very pleasing. Can't they have a better color selection? I know its a rumor.

I think the problem is the colors, not that they're plastic. :/
I think only the white one looks acceptable, but it's hard to tell from the lighting and what's false rumors or not. I hope they'll at least offer a black 5C. Otherwise, how about a wine red, or light yellow / cream, or a very pale, icy blue? These are looking so toy like.

How do you know that the 5C will have a horrible profit margin as compared to the 5S? Cheaper materials, maybe easier to manufacture, maybe the 5C will be MORE profitable for Apple.

the 5C looks worse and worse every time i see more photos of it.
The 5C WILL be more profitable for Apple, and probably one of the best moves they have ever done.
Caze makes a nice one - 0.5mm - I don't own it, but have seen it - very, very thin.

That's because you're not the intended market.![]()
Just a common work conversation among two young tech enthuisiasts. Not the geek to geek convo your question made it out to be big guy...(not that it matters)
Probably, but it will crack like crazy, remember iPhone 3 and 3GS " crack gate"?Does this mean that the number of forum users crying over a small knick on their device will reduce? I hope so!
If this thing has better build quality than the 5 and is matte plastic, this could be a big deal for some people.
People want their premium products to stay looking premium. Not hard to understand that.I sure hope that they use a stronger grade of anodisation on the 5S. But I'm tired of the forum users here weeping that they have a tiny scuff.
Steve Jobs wouldn't have... Oh wait
I honestly think most people don't mind plastic; it's just the posters who have taken such a hardline "OMG Samesung uses plastic lolllllllllllllllllllll" stance that convincing them that there are benefits, which include reduced cost and increased durability, is virtually impossible.
how so? i wouldn't mind a more affordable iphone.. just wish it didn't look like a fisher price toy
