Where is the taste level? White is the only reasonably acceptable color, at least from the photos. I sure hope these look better in person.

I guess there isn't an objective test or measurement of ugliness, as it's a subjective feeling.

Subjectively I think this may be one of the ugliest Apple products ever made.

Do you really think people who opt for the 5S will only care about the color? Other factors, such as build quality, materials and oh yeah, faster processor, better camera, dual flash and fingerprint sensor (if rumors hold true), will probably be much larger considerations. And if they want a blue phone, there's no shortage of cases available for the iPhone.

Funny thing is, a lot of people who buy the 5c will likely cover it up with a case anyway so the color they choose will be a moot point.

Consumers care nothing about build quality.

I'm glad they are going back to colors everywhere. I'd rather have a 5C than my current 5 if the specs are equivalent. I don't care about a fingerprint scanner or a better camera on the 5S. My first 5's battery failed and that one and the replacement have had some weird glitches, hopefully the new iOS and/or phones fix the glitches. Plus I always thought the 5 is a touch too thin & light.

Colorful iOS 7 and rainbow phones will make the world smile more! :)

Uhhhh. Is there supposed to be a "/s" tag in there somewhere??
wow...

:apple:

For all I know these could be fakes, knock offs, etc. Anyway, not interested in this kind of product if Apple really produces it.

However, I am looking forward to whatever the next iPhone has to offer, and I would like to see improvements on camera, battery (it is quite good on iPhone 5), LTE and Voice simultaneously. Screen is already gorgeous, so, not sure what can be improved there, but they might figure out something to improve on it.

Why would that be sarcastic? If people are happy with the current specs and the 5c meets those and his/her other criteria, who are you to tell them that's not what they want?

I understand Apple tells you what you want, but let others think for themselves.

looks more like a protection film on the alu parts of the 5S to me. why would the apple logo be covered up in blue tint like that.

Exactly. The film is probably removed after final assembly to prevent scratching. Any stainless steel appliance I've ever had has that blue film on it when it's new.

I think these colors looks a lot better than some of the renderings we've seen in the past. The white looks really sharp and will be a HUGE hit with younger females(16-35). I would never get a white or colored iPhone, but I can see a huge market(think of all the people you know who have bought a beautiful, sexy 4/4S/5 and have put a cheap, ugly case on it) for these fun colors.

So much hate. These things will sell like crazy I'm betting though.

Oh man, I literally laughed out loud at this.

These plastic phones are the antithesis of beautiful industrial design. They cheapen the Apple brand.

Really not all that different than the 3G series....

Great. So now when I make fun of my Android using friend's cheap plastic casing (all I have left in my arsenal) they can just point to Apple's new Easter color plastic phones and laugh:(

Small screen + dated/limited UI = I may finally be going Android this fall. Sad Apple.

android, iphone, they are all great phones compared to phones 5 years ago. why do people need to "Take a side" and call the other person's choice names? maybe if that's your concern in life you need to rethink your priorities? things like this can't possibly bother you right? who cares what phone you/your friends use and why you guys use it? everyone uses whatever he/she likes no one needs to judge him/her over merely a phone...

that "blue" iPhone 5S is clearly photoshopped...

I guarantee that the image of the "blue/turquoise" iPhone 5S was inverted from a gold iPhone 5S mockup (a.k.a. it was photoshopped to look that way) so don't expect a blue 5S anytime soon, if ever. Apple isn't going to allow for 4th, 5th, etc... color variants within the flagship 5S line, that's what the 5C is going to do.

Yea, at work when my buddy drops by to show me all the things he can do on his Galaxy that I can't on my 5, I say yea but that blue plastic is so cheap and ugly.

Just a common work conversation among two young tech enthuisiasts. Not the geek to geek convo your question made it out to be big guy...;) (not that it matters)

I understand... but you wouldn't find yourself in this situation if you simply said something like "Yeah, that's cool... enjoy your phone". Features alone don't make a phone, and you never want to get into a "features" argument with someone attempting to prove something. You'll never win.

I honestly think most people don't mind plastic; it's just the posters who have taken such a hardline "OMG Samesung uses plastic lolllllllllllllllllllll" stance that convincing them that there are benefits, which include reduced cost and increased durability, is virtually impossible.

Come on, the posts were not "OMG Samesung uses plastic", they were "Samsuck uses cheap plastic", pay attention, the emphasis is on the fact that the plastics chosen by Samsuck are the cheap types -- looks cheap and feels cheap in hands.

Well said. If you want multiple color options, 5C.

It's obviously fake, the texture on the metal etc.

What if...

Nice mockup, but I just don't see it happening.

Plus, Why pastels? Why? All of these things going pastel and flat- it's like Easter all year round...

Is no one really getting this

1) I will buy the 5C for my 14 year old because it will be cheaper
2) Has anyone figured out that the glass shatter "rate" is going to fall drastically with this phone? The plastic backing is almost like a hard bumper with less corner exposure of the glass.
3) It looks like it is going to handle rough handling better overall at a lower price

win-win.

I hope this is for the US market as well.

The area around the camera and flash looks horrid - It better be flush with no signs of dimpling - that black back looks like crap.

(I have no issues with the 5C in general, I just think it needs to look like a quality phone.

It looks like crap because the protective plastic film is still on it. You see this film on most of the leaks so far. Apple has already made black plastic phones. I think they know how to do it right.
