Where is the taste level? White is the only reasonably acceptable color, at least from the photos. I sure hope these look better in person.
Who makes a nice, thin, crystal clear, scratch resistant phone case that would show off a colored 5S well?
Do you really think people who opt for the 5S will only care about the color? Other factors, such as build quality, materials and oh yeah, faster processor, better camera, dual flash and fingerprint sensor (if rumors hold true), will probably be much larger considerations. And if they want a blue phone, there's no shortage of cases available for the iPhone.
Funny thing is, a lot of people who buy the 5c will likely cover it up with a case anyway so the color they choose will be a moot point.
I'm glad they are going back to colors everywhere. I'd rather have a 5C than my current 5 if the specs are equivalent. I don't care about a fingerprint scanner or a better camera on the 5S. My first 5's battery failed and that one and the replacement have had some weird glitches, hopefully the new iOS and/or phones fix the glitches. Plus I always thought the 5 is a touch too thin & light.
Colorful iOS 7 and rainbow phones will make the world smile more!![]()
Pretty sure that aluminum and polycarbonate have not had a major tech breakthrough in that time period. We're so desperate that we are comparing 2013 tech to 2008 tech? Oh boy...
Uhhhh. Is there supposed to be a "/s" tag in there somewhere??
wow...

looks more like a protection film on the alu parts of the 5S to me. why would the apple logo be covered up in blue tint like that.
This! Apple should sell this kind of casing indeed.
Oh man, I literally laughed out loud at this.
These plastic phones are the antithesis of beautiful industrial design. They cheapen the Apple brand.

I guess there isn't an objective test or measurement of ugliness, as it's a subjective feeling.
Subjectively I think this may be one of the ugliest Apple products ever made.
Great. So now when I make fun of my Android using friend's cheap plastic casing (all I have left in my arsenal) they can just point to Apple's new Easter color plastic phones and laugh
Small screen + dated/limited UI = I may finally be going Android this fall. Sad Apple.
Yea, at work when my buddy drops by to show me all the things he can do on his Galaxy that I can't on my 5, I say yea but that blue plastic is so cheap and ugly.
Just a common work conversation among two young tech enthuisiasts. Not the geek to geek convo your question made it out to be big guy...(not that it matters)
I honestly think most people don't mind plastic; it's just the posters who have taken such a hardline "OMG Samesung uses plastic lolllllllllllllllllllll" stance that convincing them that there are benefits, which include reduced cost and increased durability, is virtually impossible.
I guarantee that the image of the "blue/turquoise" iPhone 5S was inverted from a gold iPhone 5S mockup (a.k.a. it was photoshopped to look that way) so don't expect a blue 5S anytime soon, if ever. Apple isn't going to allow for 4th, 5th, etc... color variants within the flagship 5S line, that's what the 5C is going to do.
What if...
Who makes a nice, thin, crystal clear, scratch resistant phone case that would show off a colored 5S well?
The area around the camera and flash looks horrid - It better be flush with no signs of dimpling - that black back looks like crap.
(I have no issues with the 5C in general, I just think it needs to look like a quality phone.
