I wonder at what temperatures iPhone 5C starts to melt.

Do you think iPhone 5C will come with a flexible display?

----------

The area around the camera and flash looks horrid - It better be flush with no signs of dumplings - that black back looks like crap.

(I have no issues with the 5C in general, I just think it needs to look like a quality phone.)
Fixed that for ya.

I'd consider getting this kind of look and casing as opposed to the 5s if the internal parts were the same. Doubt it tho. I think it looks kinda cool. 5s is clearly for the more adult refined look

Why do most advertising in China or Japan look childish and tacky with bold non matching colors and font? Is why some many comments about the gold iphone appealing to Asians were left on the news about the gold iphone? And why do so many Samsung lovers defend Samsung actually spend time of all places, an apple rumor.......Oooooh, they must actually be Samsung looking for ideas to steal while they are still rumors.

5C is not very pleasing. Can't they have a better color selection? I know its a rumor.

Come on, the posts were not "OMG Samesung uses plastic", they were "Samsuck uses cheap plastic", pay attention, the emphasis is on the fact that the plastics chosen by Samsuck are the cheap types -- looks cheap and feels cheap in hands.

ha i can't tell if you're serious or not :D

Really not all that different than the 3G series....
I think the problem is the colors, not that they're plastic. :/

I think only the white one looks acceptable, but it's hard to tell from the lighting and what's false rumors or not. I hope they'll at least offer a black 5C. Otherwise, how about a wine red, or light yellow / cream, or a very pale, icy blue? These are looking so toy like.

I guess they didn't perform these tests on the iPhone 5...

Save the durability for the cheap plastic phone?

Am I the only one here that thinks the iPhone 5 doesn't have a scratching issue? Mine has been without a case since I got it on launch day, and despite being dropped, slid and otherwise used it's near mint condition.

aluminum scratches, dude. not sure how you expect apple to alter physics...

me, i either keep mine in a case or am careful with it. yet i expect some wear and tear -- just like on my aluminum macbook, or my old nokia 8860. why would this be any different?

entitlement.

If this thing is $299 outright, and isn't severely gimped compared to the iP5 specs, I might switch back to iPhone. On Galaxy S3 right now, but I like a change of pace now and then.

I honestly think most people don't mind plastic; it's just the posters who have taken such a hardline "OMG Samesung uses plastic lolllllllllllllllllllll" stance that convincing them that there are benefits, which include reduced cost and increased durability, is virtually impossible.

the metal iphone5 scored better in drop tests than the plastic Samsung Whatever. google it

Honestly I have no issue with plastic as a construction material. I have always said this, despite the HATRED of plastic on these forums.
And almost everyone saying no way Apple will make a plastic iPhone, etc etc.

That being said, boy or boy these backs look plain nasty.
High gloss ans VERY cheap looking colours.

Strong but deep tones with a variety of finishes can look really nice in plastic. Using the benefits of the material to produce something excellent.

But these colours with this shiny shiny finish looks so very cheap and nasty.

I can't believe the genuine items will look this bad. It's so in your face cheap and nasty.

They skip antenna testing as well.

youre high. they did quite a bit of testing on the iphone4 -- and showed that there was no issue. youtube shows tons of other smartphones showing the same signal reduction when cupped tightly. my GF still uses hers with zero problems. it was just a media landgrab, and you fell for it.

----------

so what if it's durable, it's still ugly and CHEAP:mad:. should've used metal

what entitlement.

anyway, if they used metal, it wouldnt be the lower-cost C model for developing markets, such as india, china, and children.

how on earth do you expect to reduce costs w/o changing the bill of materials?

Why don't we see people posting videos like this for other phones, like Samsung, HTC, etc..? Why always such the enthusiasm to get Apple's secret parts and test them out?

You think Apple would have used it on the iPhone 4. Go figure. That big cool room just going to waste for an entire year and Apple giving out rubber bands to fix the design flaw.

there was no flaw. it was a media hoopla designed to garner clicks. every single phone on earth shows signal attenuation if you cover it tightly with water/meat (your hand). all the other youtube vids show this.

the free bumper was a PR move to placate the sense of entitlement of so many. we still have our 4 and it works flawlessly.

You forgot the sarcasm tag...

Not every other company was stupid enough to put the antenna where everyone holds the phone.

Steve Jobs lied all the way through the press conference. After they gave away bumpers for the non existent problem they changed the design. Go figure. No more "you're holding it wrong" problems.

We're so desperate that we are comparing 2013 tech to 2008 tech? Oh boy...

rubbish. both are modern smartphones using plastic, both made by the same company. in one case you didnt have a problem w/ it, in another you do. there is no logical reason for that, other than, "Because, plastic."

These plastic phones are the antithesis of beautiful industrial design. They cheapen the Apple brand.

really...did the 3G/S cheapen the brand? the colored ipod minis?

or is just cheap now because you have a metal one? oooohhh....

Those colors. Meh. Like fashion-forward chinos from three seasons ago.

The plastic is fine, though, nothing inherently downscale with that.

not at all -- there was no flaw. despite hang-wringing by the tech blogs, the dropped call data showed there was no issue. youtube videos showed there was no issue (all phones lose bars when cupped tightly). the free bumpers were an inexpensive PR move. watch the press announcement and review the data.

then just try it yourself -- find an iphone4 and make a call. it works flawlessly.

Just keep telling yourself that and eventually you'll actually believe it.

Whatever makes you sleep better at night.
