Agreed. I hate this insistence (thanks Android Brigade!) that a phone needs to change cosmetically every 6 months to remain marketable. Nonsense.
The 4/4S was a much better-looking (and feeling) design than the 5. Wish they had stuck with it - maybe just replaced the back with a more durable glass-like material. I have a 5 and love the speed, but I miss the design of my 4. I think it's the most beautiful mobile device ever designed. So much that it still sits, unused, on my desk - I feel unwilling to give it up.
Stainless steel band > aluminum.
Are you kidding? The 4 and the 5 had way more than that, i actually think the 4 was the largest upgrade of all the phones.3GS - improved internals, faster, better cameras and extra features to take advantage of better innards. Easily supports all latest iOS features.
4 - cosmetic redesign only

wouldn't it make sense to have the fingerprint sensor part of the home button?

He should have run a complete wipe / restore, without restoring the previous backup. No 6.x backup restore = no battery drain.
What exactly are you doing to your phone? I've never had this happen with my iPhone 4 or 5.
I agree it was stunning when it was released. In saying that I have 3 iPhone 4's sitting at home and was getting them set up for the parents last night. It is very heavy having glass in the front and back. I do like the stainless steel though. Steve said the 4 looked like a Leica camera, and owning two Leica bodies I can agree, solid, heavy, well built and timeless design.
I skipped the 3GS and waited for the 4. I skipped the 4S and waited for the 5.
I'll probably skip the 5S and wait for the 6. As with the previous S models, there will probably be a feature or two that makes me envious of those people that have it, but I'm on a two-year upgrade schedule, and I'll survive.
The iPhone 6 is going to ROCK!

Agreed. There will be nothing new with the iPhone 5s other than faster internals, a slightly bigger battery that will give us 30 minutes more life if we turn everything off and dim the screen to 10%, and the exact same "everything-else-that's-in-the-previous-model" that we always get with the "S" models.
If you're looking for something new, wait for the 6.
I wasn't aware that the finished public release version of iOS 7 was available yet? I thought it was still in the first developer beta with a lot of work to do before it is ready for release.
The demise of the iPhone started with antennagate; when they took the gorgeous iPhone 3 and turned it into the dull slab of a design mess that was the 4 ... and all it's inherent issues! Then along came the 5 and yet another backwards design step. God knows how they're gonna fook up the 6 ... That is when it arrives in 10 years time at this rate!!!!
