Have only had my iPhone 5s for three days when i found that my phone makes the clicking noise in the middle of the screen. :(
Purchased my phone via apple.com.
Home button, top and bottom of the screen make no noise at all.
So phoned apple, they could have not been more helpful, new phone being dispatched ASAP and old phone being collected as well.

Apple service is fantastic :D:D
Just a shame the product had the fault in the first place. :(

Please keep us posted on the result. I am thinking of doing the same but waiting perhaps a month or so in the hopes that the problem is being corrected with subsequent builds...

Got a replacement because of a dead Pixel, the original phone had the loud clicking. The new one doesn't. Feels pretty smooth, like the iPad.

Yep. For me - all of the iPhone displays are a cool blue while my 5 and 5S have a yellow/warm tint. I took them back and compared them and the geniuses told me 'not all phones are the same' and that it wasn't a defect cause the phone works fine. -_- Always have found it odd how store displays are perfect and a lot of iPhones people purchase have terrible screens/defects.
I wouldn't call screen warmth/coolness a defect.
The other day, I saw someone's comparison between all iPhones' screens, and it even said that the displays for the 4s and the 5s are both different than the 4 and the 5.
Any ideas why anyone?

All iPhone home buttons have a clicking sound.

All iPad have buttons have a clicking sound.

What's the problem?

It's very simple. See flowchart:

Seriously, I find plenty of faults with Apple products but this **** is getting ridiculous.

Lol here's to add to this:

If(button != broken){
response = "Get a life";
} else {
response = "Get it replaced";
}

I kind of like the click. Feed back on that I actually clicked. One thing I hate about the home button is trying to double click, and sometimes only registered as one click, leading me back to home page. This way I know I clicked :p

People who insist there is no difference between the home button on the 5/5c and 5s are just ignorant. All 15 or so 5s's that I've played with have a "clickier" home button so I doubt it's a defect. My thoughts are that it has something to do with the different shape or the new button and the way it's built to include Touch ID.

Absolutely true. Some people are simply not as sensitive as others to it.

Yeah same people that always try to find fault with their phone. Just enjoy it. The exchanging phones with GB can be a pain in the ass at the end. Just be lucky you don't have a dead pixel.

My problem isn't the main button click — I have no problem with how "loud" that is.

But instead, my 5S has developed what I'd call a nasty *pre-click*. If I rest my finger on the button lightly, it makes an audible clicking sound that's been driving me crazy for days. I've hoped that a few hundred presses would fix it, but no dice. Just doesn't feel as well made as the 5 home button.

Sounds to me like its loose. That's a different story. I'd get that looked at if it bothers you.

My i5S clicks. However after less two weeks of use, it is now unresponsive and have had to get the phone replaced. It just stopped working all of a sudden. It still clicks fine though - just nothing happens. :(

The actual click and noise does not bother me. It's the second and third click that do. When I click the button and let go, I hear another click about a second later. Driving me nuts

Ah in that case it's loose. Try to press it slightly in corners without pressing it hard enough to activate the button. If you feel movement or pop then that's what's causing the secondary click sound.

Yeah that is what is causing the secondary click. But it happens when I press the home button soft or hard. Is this normal ?

No, in the past this was enough for me to get it replace. It was annoying. If it bothers you enough, Apple will replace it.

Well the UPS man came he took my old phone away and left me with a new one.
I opened the box removed the phone and pressed the screen.... and to my delight no clicking sound :)
