For anyone that didn't pay for expedited, what does it say your iPhone was "Shipped by" (right side of UPS tracking page)? I paid for expedited and mine says "UPS Worldwide Express".

Mine is the same though I didn't pay anything extra for shipping.

My shipping was "free" and mine also says "UPS Worldwide Express".

Hmm, looks like I'll call in and try to get that refunded then.

Edit: Simple enough, they're crediting my card back the $13. I suggest anyone else in the same boat do the same.

My experience with past Apple release day orders is they do give you fastest shipping possible. Paying extra is just money in Apple's bank account.

Live and learn, huh? ;)

I've actually preordered the last couple of iPhones from Apple, but I've never had the option to select expedited shipping. I thought that maybe this year things were different because it wasn't technically "preordering" it.

I find that, generally speaking, things from Apple come pretty fast using default shipping method.

I do recall people "upgrading" to other shopping methods in the past with no benefit.

Case just arrived, nothing to put it on... torture.

Mine arrived on Friday. ;)

Gotta love it when a package "arrives" 11 hours before it departs. :D

Our 5s are on the continent. Next stop, Louisville, KY.

Same here! I think the flight to Louisville leaves in about 2 hours, and then there's about a 6 hour flight to KY.

I think all the first day, Canadian online orders are on that plane. :)

They normally fly directly from Louisville to Calgary so a Wednesday noon delivery is definitely still possible.

Mine says it will arrive on Tuesday 1st. Not sure if it'll get from Anchorage to Louisville to Surrey, BC for delivery by tomorrow.

With my experience from amazon prime, UPS never disappoints. Usually the package arrives in your city anywhere, for me between midnight - early mornings in Calgary and is usually out for delivery around 6am~8am.

I should call apple and ask for a refund on that expedited shipping.

Definitely. I called in and it took all of 2 minutes to get the refund.

Mine has officially left Alaska!

Sucks that mine has to go to Kentucky only to come back to Calgary.

Apples estimated delivery is Thursday but UPS says I'll have it by noon Wednesday!

Hmmm. Surprised that yours is not going to be delivered tomorrow. Mine's in Alaska right now (hasn't left yet) and is on track to be delivered before 10:30 in the morning in Vancouver. I would have thought Calgary would be similar.

Well, it's left Anchorage:

So on their way to Louisville. UPS must have a quick turnraround to YVR if they're going to get it to you tomorrow, but they know their business better than we do.

If it counts for anything, the last two accessory purchases I've made from Apple.ca and shipped via UPS have all arrived a day early so MAYBE Calgary will happen tomorrow as well, but I highly doubt it. Noon on Wednesday works for me.

I would have thought so too. UPS has a pretty decent facility here in town and they do get direct shipments from Louisville. It must be in their scheduling. If it's going to make YVR tomorrow, the package will probably hop a plane to BC as soon as it arrives in KY.

Good luck!

That's the way it works out of China. If FEDEX, it would have gone through Memphis. Major hubs. Packages clear customs in Anchorage for passage into the US. One more UPS broker to will touch it before it comes into Canada. I now have the same ETA as you do so I caught up finally. :)

If you really want to know where your package is now, see below. ;)

UPS has 6 flights from Anchorage to Louisville in the air that have departed within about hour of each other. What makes you sure it's that flight? Not that it really matters as they're so close, just curious.

Correction, based on tracking info, Calgary bound packages should be on UPS # 105 which is about an hour behind 109.
