I'm tired of this same scenario every launch! Why don't they just wait until they have enough supply? Well we know why don't we?!VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
Yes, we do. That would be really, really terrible logistics and cash flow management.

How hard is it to make a phone that's a minor variant of the phone they were already making?
So do all companies, even including shoemakers like Nike.
Minor upgrade, hence the "-S" . But, by all means, rush out and buy it. That fingerprint thingy will be awesome.
redesigned body (inside shape, screw holes, etc)
redesigned logic board
redesigned CPU
redesigned camera
redesigned radio
new coprocessor
new fingerprint scanner
Yes, minor variations.
Literally the only reason I enjoy buying new stuff is being a prick to people who don't have it yet.

Reminds me of the 90s-era incapacity to deliver the PowerBooks that people most wanted - so it is a double failure: OVER-DELIVER on crap (5C) and UNDER-DELIVER on the better model (5S)...terrible approach.
God I hope this is a joke. ...can I add /s please??
If it's not, pay someone to stay in your spot at least! It's not worth missing the birth of your first child man.
Someone reddit this **** and see if we can find the real guy to make sure he's just joking!!!
So the fact that I want a space grey 32 GB AT&T one should work in my favor then?
My thought exactly. In the same boat.
Your life must be very fulfilling.
Hmm, so if I want a 64GB Space Grey iPhone 5S, wake up at 3am for online or chance it that I can bet to an Apple Store in NJ burbs by 8am.
After this news I think I'm just going to order it online. Does anyone have any idea, based on previous launches, what the typical shipping time should be if I get my order through in the first few minutes?
Why does this happen EVERY year? Apple, why the hell can't you figure this supply chain thing out and start a month of two earlier than normal - or add a few production facilities/expand teams or something?
Every time a new iPhone comes out it's a total pain in the butt for weeks on end for people. (And I typically pre-order - but that obviously wasn't available this time)
It's frustrating.
