It's just a 100€ of from the f####ing 699/700€ they want for the same storage sized 5s, just a slight rebate for buying last years phone in a plastic shell.

Now offcourse if you one of those signing up a 50++€/$ per month contract and actually believing your only paying 99$ for the phone.... well lets just say that joke is on you :eek:
 
I ordered 2 Gold 16GB Sept 20 @ 9am EST. I just got the phone on Oct 10th.

Production is catching up and demand is slowing down? This isn't a terribly hard thing to figure out.

Define inexpensive. $549 is NOT inexpensive.

A large gap in performance/value for a small $$ outlay is not proving anything other than people recognizing when they are being taken, in relation to an obvious better choice.

That, and Apple can't pick a color palette that appeals to everyone.
 
I stood in line for launch and they only had space gray. So I went with a 32gb AT&T model.

I kept using this website to check for a gold 32gb AT&T. When one became available at my local store I purchased on my other line for pickup. I went to the store and "purchased" it and then returned it. I then exchanged my space gray for the gold one. :)

You can yawn at the sales figures as well. Only problem is they'll be shattering all analysts expectations...

Also Forstall is never coming back. Get over it.
 
Just a reminder that correlation != causation. That is to say, everyone wants to draw conclusions regarding sales figures by examining the availability of various devices in various places, but we are missing the larger context that includes major details like intended/actual production output, hard sales data, etc.

With that said, it is safe to say that they have sold a boatload of iPhones in the past few weeks, will continue doing so through the holiday season, and are not doomed financially.

I constantly check but no Gold 64's are ever in stock. Just the 16gb Gold:(
 
In Australia, the cheapest 5s is $869 on the apple store, such a joke. How anybody would ever even consider buying one outright here is a bit beyond me.

Wow,really? Well hopefully you end up getting one soon. Maybe order online and just keep checking how you've been. If you find one before it ships,then cancel. You'll still be able to keep your upgrade pricing.

That price includes GST and the general fact that everything in Australia is expensive. I don't know how you blokes get by.
 
still, even with GST of 10% it's still incredibly expensive. I thought I heard a while back of some sort of enquiry into the pricing of apple products amongst other things in Australia (e.g. console games), not sure what has come of it so far though. : /
 
Every year is the same with Apple with long delivery times. :mad:

If you don't have the money then move on. Many do have the money and buy the iPhones who have worked hard and saved their money.

Prices are not really expensive just try an see a doctor in the US then you can see what is expensive. Health and education always comes last in Amercia but cars and gas has to be cheap:confused:

Not sure how that addresses the concerns I expressed in any way. I didnt want one to start with, and now I want one even less.


It would be interesting to see how expensive the plans offered on the US apple store turn out to be. Is it even possible to actually buy the phone outright with no plan?

You'd have thought that Apple would have had enough time and resources to, like, derrrr, actually plan for the 5S release date wouldn't you.

Apple has run with this idea for a long time now.

I am pretty sure it was worse last year, people who did not order early on pre-order day had to wait for longer than 2-3 weeks at this point.
 
I'll be ordering my 5s with T-Mobile late next month and everything should be fine by then, if not sooner. I'm more concerned about iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 shortages that could possibly last into early 2014. Maybe it will be easier to get a space gray 128GB iPad 5 or iPad mini 2 than a gold one?

Your app will not work on an iPhone 5 (or 5c)?

You know there is a large number of people who have a 5/5c/4S and will not get the 5s (Some buying them now, after the 5s came out) you are missing a lot of sales! (just speaking in general, I know your app is free and requires the M7)

The iPhone 5C is $500 off contract, that's cheap? Lol

Must explain why Walmart and best buy can't sell these things and need to already cut the price by half
