Honestly, i personally would have preferred an 5s with the polycarbonate of the 5c. Yes i said it!
That's what you will be getting next year.

To be quite honest if it wasn't for the fingerprint sensor and improved camera I would do it right away. Becides, you are missing the point. iPhone 5 C is replacing iPhone 5 and not going head to head with iPhone 5s. It's like asking someone, would you get iPhone 4 or 4S when the 4S was out.
I really think Apple just screwed this thing up by releasing the 5C. They focused on a lower level tier instead of their top tier, which as we can see now, is severely constrained.
smh. How much would the iPhone 5 be if Apple continued to sell it on contract? $100. Same as the 5c. And how old is the iPhone 5? 1 year. Same as the internals in the 5c. Yet you're sitting here saying you wouldn't encourage a friend to get the 5c, however you would tell them to get a used iPhone 5? Seriously?

Call me crazy but I like the design of 5C better and it feels more comfortable on the hand. I like rounded corner desig much more. And yes, some people prefer other colours then just B&W. I would change my iPhone 5 for a 5C anytime.
Evidence for this please? I'm guessing the 5C will have a different firmware designation to the 5 and will receive the exact same versions of iOS as the 5S.
What this may mean though is that a hacked firmware will give the 5 an unofficial extra year of iOS updates.
What I mean is that if you insist on getting hardware that's a year old you may as well save as much money as you can - i.e. the iPhone 5 is cheaper than the 5C
Example: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/64Gb-Bla...t=AU_Mobile_Phones&hash=item3385bc5320&_uhb=1
That's $650AU for the 5 with 64GB, instead of $739AU for the 5C with 16GB
SO YES I WOULD RECOMMEND THE 5, SERIOUSLY
Bloody hell ***** * *****
it happens every single year, you would think people would be smart enough to know it isn't because they can't supply it, it's because they choose not to supply it.

I made the mistake of believing targets "reservations", looks like apple cut target out of the initial shipments because none of the stores around me received any inventory. I should of went with my gut and taken the 1-3 day shipping online.
Hahahaha, good one
Paying extra money over the iPhone 5 to get a thicker, heavier phone is an ineffective way of spending money. If you want the new colours then sure, the choice is yours - I simply wouldn't recommend doing so because you are spending money so ineffectively (but I guess this is the mindless consumer world we live in)
Also, you should perhaps read some of the other comments about the cost of upgrading every few years
Anyone notice that as soon as they got rid of the down vote, this became a bash Apple site? Just saying.
Woo-hoo. My order went from processing to preparing for shipment overnight.
I called Apple yesterday because I intended to do expedited shipping when I ordered, but forgot. I asked the CR how much to upgrade and she told me it would be $10-$16. I agreed to the cost. She put me on hold to process, then came back on the line a couple of minutes later and told me that she comped the charges. That's so Apple...
Yeah I sure love the design of the 5C too. If Apple had made it a true "value/budget" phone as the rumours had made us hope, instead of just a "hardly cheaper" phone, then I would have probably bought it over the 5S to save some dough.
When and what model, color did you order? I ordered the AT&T 16gb gold expedited and my order status is still processing.
can those who got a 5S already (I see there are several in this thread) please comment on the touch ID performance. Any noticeable lag? how accurate is it?
