Here's a mockup from appleinsider where the glass is more of a cream color and the logo and lettering is champagne instead of silver.

I think I like the white glass better, but do prefer the champagne logo.

I expect all logos to be BLACK this year. With Apple black is the new silver.

I like the champagne color when it's front and back. Having white fronts with whacky colors in the back really bother me. It seems half assed and isn't cohesive. I'm also surprised no one has thrown iOS 7 styling into these mock ups lol.

Good work though kids!

I just got my iphone 5 replacement from Apple. Very nice service, instead of fixing it. THe iphone5 lastbility when it comes to scuffs are not impressive.

But, if iphone 5 gets a champagne color, I gotta have it :D so time to save up for a new one ;)

If it's what 9to5Mac has posted at the top of their front page right now it looks VERY gold to me.

I'm keeping to my guns on this one. This gold case iPhone is a high end model since they can't get the yields up on the fingerprint sensor.

My prediction it's called the "iPhone 5U" (unlimited) with an optional gold case. This 5U is the only one with a fingerprint sensor and 128 Gigs of flash.

The gold color is optional with black and white also available. It will also have a lot of security features with end to end voice scrambling, ITU defined IP-traceback and a bunch of other security features using BT 4.0.

It will not be cheap costing about a grand more than the 5S.

ummm, what? Bookmarking this one for the 10th.

This is classic marketing. If your yields are not as good as you want, split and price the product line to match the yields. Thus, I'm seeing three and not two product gradients.

iPhone 5C, student and such aimed at all the el-chepo Android users
iPhone 5S, main stream customers
iPhone 5U, high end customers and special enterprise needs

Note how they are all in alphabetical order.

I'm getting a refund from my college at the end of this month, I might have to buy this phone, depending on how different it is. If this 128 gig thing is true it shouldn't cost no more than $399 or else those sales will just be poof.

The fact that the 4S still uses the 30-pin connector is unsettling. The C would have Lightning.

I agree with you and cougarcat regarding the lightning connector and screen size of a 5C to normalize the product line. It would be interesting if this was the first step toward Apple obsoleting the 3.5" screen size within the year.

I have the 64GB iPhone 5, and I’ll be delighted if they bring out a 128GB version and will buy it for sure.

I have iTunes Match, but my preference for iPhone is to have my music library on my phone, I also like to keep a few movies and TV shows, as well as taking loads of HD video of my son.

You have to remember, that everyone has different needs and requirements, not everyone’s requirements match yours.

On the colour, I’d like to see a ‘Champagne’ option, but looking at how white and clean iOS7 is, I can’t see myself choosing anything but the white model this time... I’m sure it’ll sell like hotcakes though.

:)

They have more Red products now, then when SJ was about.

They're extremely dedicated to this cause, which is great to see.

Oh, I could see needing the space if you have some shows and movies from iTunes on it. I don't bother putting that on my phone. I wasn't putting people down for wanting it, just curious how you could use up that much space. I have countless photos, songs and videos of when I get to see my nephew and I have a small dent into the storage space.

Could someone give me link to full research made by Ming-Chi Kuo, which was quoted by Macrumors?

Quite simply, you can never have enough RAM. It does not matter how optimized iOS 7 is, if you throw more RAM at it, it'll work better. Not all third party apps will be this optimized, some of them will use lots of RAM.

After constantly having to refresh apps in 3GS, I just want more RAM! Some people want a faster processor, some want a bigger screen, for me it's RAM and camera.
Agreed. It would be a much better excuse for me switching to the 5S from my Galaxy S2 if it comes with 2GB ram preinstalled.

you do know what wax is right? It goes on to protect the paint. Also...have you ever seen a 3 year old mitsubishi?

I do know what wax is. Can you tell when a car has been waxed? Probably not because it's still the same shape/colour. A phone with a cover on looks completely different - so much so it's not immediately obvious if the iPhone is a 3, 3GS, 4 or 4S.

My point here is, for most, does it matter what colour the iPhone is when the vast majority put them in some tacky case? If the iPhone was made from a more suitable material, maybe there wouldn't be the need to protect it from - dum dum duuuuum - some keys.

Thank you, OllyW. I stand corrected.

I hope he is right again regarding the 128GB option for the next iPhone.

In my opinion (which isn't really worth a lot), Google and U.S. cellular carriers seem intent on limiting storage capacity in order o drive customers to their streaming services.

The new Nexus 7 is a perfect example of this with only 32GB max of storage.

I'm not sure if a gold colored case for the iPhone 5S is a good idea. After all, many iPhone users put their phones in protective cases, and once in a case unless you look really closely you can't tell the color of the case of the phone itself.

Also, why 128 GB of internal storage? With a proper iCloud configuration, you really don't need that much internal storage. I'd rather have 64 GB internal storage maximum but raise the internal RAM to 2 GB for faster operation and/or more apps loaded into main memory.

What if the 128GB model is the only one that is in the gold color and is the only color choice? Making it the stand out model. What will you do then nay sayers?

A lot of people though, would rather have all their stuff on the iPhone. This way its always there and there is no reliance on needing to have an Internet connection to access your Cloud based storage.

For Cloud storage to work, we need to have fast mobile connections, and also generous data allowances. And in some countries this isn't the case.
