omygod yes i would like new products every month , ipad mini2, ipad5, iphone 5s, Iphone 6, iphone+, New ipod, there should be a new product every month, hurry apple pleaseeeee....... What does OP mean by "in the know"?, He sounds really cool when he says that.

Yes I actually care quite a bit, to be honest.

My launch day 4S - while it still fits most needs - is showing its age. Plain and simple, the 3.5" screen just makes for cramped quarters, and I watch stuff a lot on my iPhone.

And while AT&T's 4G speeds are OK for now, I probably won't feel the same way in another year from now. I passed on the 5 last fall mostly because I was (am) still under contract, and was not willing to pay full retail for it.

Also, the fact that the 4S got all the benefits of iOS 6 meant that aside from the larger screen and LTE there was really nothing the 5 could do that the 4S cannot.

But now that I have an upgrade available, and I have a phone that is nearing the 2 year mark, I am ready with open arms for the 5S.

I care in that pretty much all new smartphone launches excite me. Will I get one? That remains to be seen. Although I owner more smartphones than the vast majority of smartphone users, I still haven't even come close to owning them all. The device has to impress me in SOME way for me to be willing to fork out the cash for it.

As long as it's as good, if not better than the HTC One, I'll get it (also assuming my finances haven't changed).

More interested in a larger screen, will keep the 4S and hold out to see what happens with iP6. iOS7 and the 4S should keep me entertained for another 12 months. I don't want to get the 5S, be stuck in contract for 2 years and not be eligible to upgrade.

I'm intrigued - do you find the iPhone 5 sluggish? Is the 8MP camera too pixelated for your tastes?

I realize you weren't responding to me, but I do find the 5 sorely lacking in low light situations. The best camera in a smartphone currently on the market, for a handful of reasons is in the Lumia 920 IMO. At launch there were some issues that proved to be software related. Now, it's a solid performer. Granted, cramming more megapixels isn't going to do diddly.

Personally, I can't wait for the iPhone 5S. My 4S's lock button no longer works so I have to use the accessibility features to lock it. Also, my battery is not doing too good anymore. Hoping it holds up till the 5S comes out.

I do a little ....I have a iphone 4 and my upgrade is on 5/6/2013 so I am going to wait and see what comes out. I would love to have LTE but I am willing to wait till the fall or even wait till the 6 comes out.

I upgrade every year. Every year its the same old song and dance. Those who profess to not upgrade can't control themselves once Apple announces the new hardware features.

I expect the following improvements that will make the upgrade worth while to me.

1. 802.11ac (AirPort Extreme upgrade as well).
2. More power efficient processor (battery life improved).
3. Improved display technology (battery life improved).
4. Better camera (Since I only use my iPhone for pics...this feature alone justifies my yearly upgrades).
5. Even better scratch resistant displays.
6. 128GB of storage.

I'm sure Apple will throw in more bells & whistles, but the above list alone will cause many on here to change their minds and upgrade to the 5S. This phenomenon occurs every year...without fail!

I care to know what features it will have, and then I'll decide if it's something I want or not.

But I can't really say "meh" or "I want it" until I've seen what the next iPhone is. And so far, no one really has, for sure.

I can't wait to see the 5S. Apple is no where near "falling behind". The competition is getting better (which is great for all us consumers) but apple is 100% happy with where they are going. The 5S is gonna sell better then u think.

How long does your battery last?

Bit of a narrow-minded question. Of course many people will care. The ones looking for a decent upgrade will care. The ones who are disappointed will care too!

I struggle to think of a single 'innovation' found in other phones that I'd want in the next iPhone have. Have you read the reviews of the S4? Full of poorly-executed gimmicks that make the phone difficult enough to use to warrant an 'easy' mode. If that's innovation, then I say no thanks.

New products are always attractive to people. But I think the old iphone 4 or 4S is still better than some ordinary phones. Some of my friends would still want to replace their phones with iphone 4S now.

I care. I made a decision to buy every iPhone from now on. Only I know it's gonna be such a boring update that it hardly matter. Just getting new scuff-less phone again. 4s was actually a nice upgrade from 4, because it was a huge speed increase. Everything was snappier. Now the iPhone 5 is pretty much as snappy as it can be, so you won't really notice the difference. Lets hope Ives new design actually has some beautiful animations that requires some phone power - so we have a reason to upgrade :)
