iPhone 5se rumors suggest it will look like a cross between an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6s, using the iPhone 5s body with the curved display glass of the newer device.

If that is true, it shows that Tim Cook has even less taste (regarding innovation) than the already low taste he has previously displayed during his tenure as CEO.

I don't know why you all get your hopes up. They are going to hold something significant back to make the good news all turn blue again.

I'm really dreading that the inclusion of a9x means they will withhold the pencil to differentiate from the Pro. Sad, because that would have gotten my sale. Curious if another speed bump is really going to boost sales since I haven't heard any complaints that processing power is where the iPad is falling behind.

Processing speed in a tablet is just a useless spec these days. I got "suckered" into upgrading because I foolishly convinced myself that somehow a faster processor meant a better iPad experience and the speed/experience has remained essentially the same since first gen.

If you hardly used it before, how will an A9X processor make it more useful to you?

Because it has an X after it.

Can we stop hearing about this "5SE" , its boring now .

People getting excited like a 4 inch phone is some radical new idea

Awesome, this new iPad is shaping up to be an extremely nice device for my mum, a nice fast processor, light and thin, and with the four speaker system. It'll run her card games nicely haha, but it will run her TV catchup services well and offer better sound than her current iPad 3.
Wonder if it will come with 4 or 3GB RAM.

I don't know what it is about the model names with increasingly long trails of letters that bothers me so much. Really wish they had stuck with a simplified scheme to represent base/mid/high.

I am absolutely loving my iPhone 6s because it FLIES through everything.

The A9 is wickedly fast. But the most impressive improvement that everyone seems to overlook on the iPhone 6s has over previous iPhones (and any smartphone available right now) is the NVMe controller and the faster flash.

Man, it's fast.

Shockingly fast.

Most notable speed improvements can be traced back to the faster flash, although it is a combination of faster RAM, CPU, and flash.

So anyway, I hope the 5se has the A9 in combination with the NVMe-based flash, otherwise the speed improvements won't be as substancial as they are on the 6s.

Always something that they use the A9 instead of the A8.
But i had really hoped that apple would stop this nonsens with having a flagship line in form factor of the 6 and the 6+ and then the 4" with last years tech.

I think a few months to shrink it down is OK, making big phones is easy.
Fitting the same stuff in a smaller device is harder. :)

Well it's pretty radical compared to that gorilla 6S+, or at least seems that way to me. Happy camper here!

They may call it whatever they want. Finally a 4" screen again, and A9 chip? I'll call it grrrreat.

Nope

Except the Pro will be faster. Expect the Air 3 to have a 1.8GHz A9X with 2GB DDR4 ram. And no pencil support. If they offer pencil support and they are still weeks out on backorders right now, they will have hell to pay.

Ahem, the Pencil is showing 'In stock' and 'Available for immediate in store pick-up' on Apple Store UK. This is stupidly getting my hopes-up. I don't think it's going to happen, but absolutely hope it does!

I kinda wanna update my 5S but not really sure why I would get the 5SE.

Its faster but should I care when I think the 5S is plenty fast?

Its got NFC but thats no use outside the US and China.

Other than a better camera, faster touch ID and VoLTE support, will the update be meaningful?
Probably not, but you should wait for the keynote to make up your mind. I don't think this update is meant for you. Eventually your 5S will be worn out or just not be good enough, but by then there will be a "6se" or something like that for you that will represent a bigger leap forward (assuming you're set on staying with a 4" screen).

I think this update is so Apple can have Apple Pay on all new handsets it sells. Since that's not useful for you (yet) wherever you are, it isn't a selling point for you.

Say what?!? I went from a first gen to an Air, and there was a huge difference.

Thats good news for the iPgone 5SE. However, I hope Apple lowers the price levels on the iPad Air 3. I don't want to pay today's prices for yesterday's hardware.

"...and a rear LED flash, the first to be implemented in an iPad."

Yes, because we all use out iPad to take photos...*grumpy look*

You don't really think that the Air 3 will have the same internals do you? No way it will have the same RAM or the same clock speeds as the Pro.
I'm expecting an underclocked A9X, but that's fine. Very happy with this news, can't wait to upgrade my old iPad 3rd gen to this new Air 3!

I know it's pretty unlikely, but personally I hope they call it the iPhone Mini. No numeral, like the MacBooks. They don't have to update it every year, maybe every 2 years. This would be a good transition to eventually having no number models, with the iPhone Mini, iPhone, iPhone (Pro/Plus).
