The A9 is wickedly fast
I'm not getting it.
Man, it's fast.
I'm not getting it.
Shockingly fast.
I'm not getting it.

it FLIES through everything
Oh, finally a nice analogy I can work with!

Ok, serious now and fun aside:
You're not getting it. You're not seeing the bigger philosophy behind it. you don't buy an Apple product for its functionality, its speed or its usability (anymore).

You buy it for the spiritual experience of self discovery you are having for the period of owning and using an apple products. it's about discovering and learning about yourself, just with how little (material thicknesses, battery life, new features) you can life with.

After using the IPad Pro for a few months, I don't think I can go back down to the iPad Air screen size. I love the keyboard, typing on it now, I love the apple pencil. Doing homework and watching movies on this larger screen it great. Now it just looks normal.

Ipad air 3 will get the same res as the ipad pro, and will feature a slightly downclocked a9x with 2 or 3gb. Or it will keep the same res as the air2. But will still feature a downclocked A9X.
It is physically impossible to put in the same components in a much smaller and thinner package than the ipad pro , add more speakers and maintain battery life.
So it will be a tad slower.
But will still be a great update.
Ipad pro 2 will hopefully be thinner like the air 2/air 3, lighter , use 7000 alu and have a speed bump together with special pro ios features( filemanager?)

I'm glad I returned my iPhone 6S - very much looking forward to having a new iPhone that comfortably fits in my pocket.

I just hope Otterbox stops resting on their "laurels" and provides a solid Defender case or even Commuter this time around. Or, alternatively, Jony STOPS making everything senselessly "thinner" (why?) and instead focuses on making the iPhone more impact resistant. And wouldn't it be insane to be able to read the screen in direct sunlight?

That would be great and i think iphone 7 will feature a laminated display just like the air2 en ipad pro.

Whoa, you seem know me better than I know myself.

Say what?!? I went from a first gen to an Air, and there was a huge difference.
They are probably referring to the performance of the iPad with the iOS version that shipped with it. I'm sure your 1st gen was running something a couple generations past what originally shipped with it. And thus, the performance was rather degraded.

If that was the case, then this poster is not too far off.

Don't expect it to be the A9 at it's maximum potential.

The iPhone 5se's A9 will be to the iPhone 6s's A9 what the iPod touch 6th generation's A8 is to the iPhone 6's (under-clocked, but still powerful).

Market Share. Not Margins. :apple:
You have that sooooooooooo backwards.

Do you not remember the pricing of the 5c? That was pure margins and very little market share. Expect more of the same. Apple is just hoping to capture some of the folks who have not upgraded since the 4s,5,5s due to the massive displays. They will NOT be going after the mid tier pricing market.

four inch screen fans are going to love this news.

Yup. I guess I waited until the right moment. Don't want the larger screen. My iPhone 5 is ready to be traded in to Apple and I'll take that sweet 24 month plan.

I wonder if I buy the phone from Apple, can I get the TMobile $30/mo 100 min/5GB data plan? On T-Mobile's site says you can get that plan only for phones purchased at Walmart or activated at TMobile. Hmmm.

There are about to be a whole lot of happy MacRumors readers!

Why? Unless they introduce another 4" iPhone a few months later that shares the latest chip and features as the larger iPhone 7 models, the 4" model will continue to be a tech hand-me-down. That's not what we want.

Processing speed in a tablet is just a useless spec these days. I got "suckered" into upgrading because I foolishly convinced myself that somehow a faster processor meant a better iPad experience and the speed/experience has remained essentially the same since first gen.
[doublepost=1455837123][/doublepost]

Because it has an X after it.

There's no way you can mean the iPad 1 right? Even with the Air "1", the Air 2 is significantly faster doing... almost everything. I don't know how you can suggest there's no difference (I use an Air 2 day to day but encounter regular Airs and iPad mini 2's regularly).

You could argue that processing speed isn't important for a certain set of given tasks, but to make a blanket statement that it's a "useless spec" is ridiculous. There are plenty apps that can use faster SoCs (advanced painting apps, audio apps, games, websites that are javascript-heavy, etc). And as they feed more features into iOS, they need to keep upping the CPU speed to maintain good performance. We even have 2 apps on screen at once now- you don't think processing speed helps with twice as many user level apps at once?

I swear that there was ONE rumour saying that the new 4-inch iPhone will be called the 'iPhone 5SE'. One. So why is every single article everywhere calling it this?

I think it's all P.R. Apple will go with the 5SE name to avoid having three iphone 6's. 6 6 6
