I have a red dead pixel about a half inch from the top, center. Headed to Best Buy to see what they say, then Apple if they don't have a solution.

I'm having an issue where my iPhone 6 will not connect to my home wifi network after returning home. I'm using the latest Apple 802.11ac Airport Extreme. I have to reset the network settings in order for it to be able to scan and see available networks.

Has anyone else had issues of flickering screen on 4.7" ip6? I think this is a hardware problem. Scrolling causes pixelated aberrations on the screen. Any animation causes the animated part to flicker. Scrolling in something like settings, the left icons are visible flickering underneath the header bar. Web pages have all kinds of problems. I guess this qualifies as DOA as I've run a DFU restore on it and still the same thing.

I checked "NO" and for the most part that is true ... I activated my iPhone 6 Plus through iTunes using my iPhone 5 encrypted backup. Everything came across - with passwords in place - and the phone activated through AT&T immediately.

I did have a slight mail problem where thousands of old, deleted emails were continually downloading ... over and over and over. Still not sure why, but I tracked down which account was causing the problem, deleted it and re-added it with all the same settings, and all is fine now.

So ... no, I really had a trouble free activation/repopulating of my new phone.

I had a bad phone staight out the box. I turned it on and it said temperature the iphone needs to cool before using it. It wasn't even warm it was cold. So I called apple they called the Jacksonville store and held one for me to swap out.

So I took my phone into the AT&T store. Right off the bat they told me that there was nothing they could do because they are not Apple. They said the only place here in town that could help me is the MacAuthority. So I called them and they spoke to me like I was crazy. "We don't have any iPhones to give you, you'd have to go to the Apple Store in Atlanta or something, that's just crazy."

So, I call 1-800-MYAPPLE and speak to someone. He tells me that since I have AppleCare on my phone, no problem, he'll get me a new phone right out. So I ask what if I didn't have AppleCare? Well then you'd have to pay the service fee. What?! I'd have to pay a fee for my DOA, brand new out of the box iPhone?! Ok, so whatever, let's get this ball rolling. He puts me on hold while he enters some information. Comes back and says he needs a credit card number to put the funds on hold until I send the defective phone back. He tells me I'll see a $299 charge. There's no such thing as a "hold" on credit card funds - you either bill it, or you don't. So I put him on hold for a second while I make sure I called the correct number, because this is just getting crazy. I ask him if there other options. He says he can send me a link to pay online and complete the claim. He sends it while I'm still on the phone. It's billing me for $849.88. WTF?! I'm not putting that on my card at this point. I ask why it's more that he said. Uhh, because I clicked past something or other and saw the wrong number, blah blah blah. So I ask can he just send a phone to an authorized retailer so I can go switch it out. No.

This is BS, I might just go get a Samsung and send this worthless phone back.

Go to Apple Store and get it swapped. Stop being a baby.

Uh actually there IS such a thing called a hold on a credit card. what you got was an express replacement. There is no fee for AppleCare subscribers but there is for non AppleCare subscribers. They ship you the replacement phone first and then you out your old phone in the box to ship back. They put the hold on your credit card for the reason that if you don't return the phone, they have a way to bill you for it, or partially if the phone was damaged.

Hmm thanks for the input. If I bought it at VZW, would I go back to the carrier store or Apple for a replacement? I don't really wan't to deal with the carrier if I don't have to.

Apple Store. Apple provides support for all phones no matter where you bought it.

Cross post from defects thread

I did the in-store pickup and the first iPhone 6 they brought out for me had an issue with the SIM card tray. It was stuck half way from coming out. Couldn't access the SIM card. Ended up getting a new phone thankfully that so far works flawlessly.

You're crazy if you are restoring from a previous phone. ALWAYS ends up a mistake.

A bit of a stretch there. I always restore from backup and never have issues. I restored my last three new gen iPhones from JB backups of the previous model and even then no issues at all.

Not really an issue, but the volume and power buttons are loud when pressed on. Just feels cheap. That's what I get for ordering a first batch I guess.

My iphone 6 plus keeps crashing. The battery seems to drain really fast.i have used it quite a bit, but not more than my iPhone 5. I set it up as a new phone, so as not to make the mistake from my iPhone five. My phone seems to crash about every four minutes. Sort of frustrating for coming right out of the box!

Faulty iphone 6

I have a faulty ip6 about 7mm of the right side of screen doesn't work it has picture but the toutch doesn't work so you can't use letter p
Anybody else have this problem

I guess you and I, and about 1000 other people will be going to apple to get replacement phones. Sad, but as someone else said, the gamble you take with getting first generation product.

----------

I have the issue of when I'm talking on a call and I put it on loudspeaker, the person on the other end can't hear me... There is nothing coving the bottom of the phone so all ports are free...
Anyone else have this problem and or know how to fix it??

My iphone 6 plus has the same issue, as well as crashing during application exicution. The same app works flawlessly on my iphone 5 without issues. Back to apple on Monday.

I am having software issues I think. I notice some apps are not loading fast and I am lagging from time to time. I think this is a IOS 8 issues and app problem tho.

Other then that my phone is flawless

I noticed that my 6 warmed up quite a bit today when I was playing music through it today in the car.

Either way I don't have access to that money while its on hold. It might as well be a billed and refunded.

They don't have the phones in stock at any of the authorized sellers and the nearest Apple Store is 100+ miles away. Did you not READ? The attitude was that all the onus is on me - as if it's not their fault the phone doesn't work.

The only real problem with my 6 Plus so far is the vibration. Its noticeably loud and is kind of annoying. During an incoming call/text/email I can hear the buzzing of the vibration just as loud as the ringtone or other sound.

Problems with iPhone 6 syncing apps

Hello, there is a fairly large issue with many people experiencing problems with syncing their apps from a backup of a iPhone 5S to the iPhone 6. It locked up repeatedly while trying to move the apps over to my phone as well as my wife's phone. We both have MacBook Pro's and iPhone 6's, and it happened to each of us. We were syncing via Lightening cable not over the air. This is what I did to remedy the issue.

After forced quiting, I unchecked all my music, photos, books and movies. Then I moved the apps over on the first sync. Then I selected music for the second sync. And I chose each category for a separate sync until they all moved over. It's a pain, but it worked. Best of luck!

My iMessage won't connect on 6+

Keeps saying awaiting activation. When I enter my Apple ID in iMessage and FaceTime it says it wasn't able to connect please try again. It's been elevated past teir 2 support

Try turning off iMessage, doing a hard reboot (not plugged into anything- hold the home button and power buttons until your iphone shuts off, then just turn it back on), and then switching iMessage back on. I've had that same issue on my 5S.
