Okay 1st off if a a chat rep really said that and you did not photo shop it then she should be fired. Unless your tracking info is updated the chat rep doesn't know squat. I can't even think a chat rep would even say that . I was in my local sprint store and the manager was on the phone with corporate and he said nobody has a clue but the shipping department and the iPhone was only coming into there warehouse today so this bs about what a chat rep said is all nonsense And the banking thing I have not read anyone who did a real pre order had there charges fall off as once you pre order from sprint they charge you right away even if it's 6 months till they ship it all these trolls are having a field day on here. Either your order status will change then you will know or as in some cases the phone will show up at your door then you will know. As a side note the manager already told me do not bother to get in line if you want a 6 plus as he was told the pre orders they took will even be delayed. Sprint has no control over how many they get only apple does and from the looks of it very few 6 plus will be around come Friday for them to sell

Great information here.

I just wanted to chime in on the "pending" versus "posted" debate. I worked in finance for 6 years for both Wells Fargo and US Bank. I can tell you that there is a big difference between pending and posted charges.

A pending charge is one that is temporary. It may or may not turn into a permanent posted charge. A posted charge will not fall off and is part of the permanent transaction history. A charge can be refunded, but the original charge stays on the account with a separate credit transaction. A pending charge once it falls off appears that it was never even there on the account history.

Most merchants will place a charge at the time of purchase, which will move from pending to posted over the course of a few days. This is for POS transactions, such as at a brick and mortar retail store. Online retailers typically do the same, with the exception of pre-orders. Now, some merchants post a pending charge for a pre-order which later falls off until the order is shipped, at which time it will be re-posted to the account and will become a permanent charge.

So according to Sprint's website, they will charge you for pre-orders immediately, meaning posted vs pending charges could mean nothing. Though I just think it's curious how some people here have seen the charge fall off while others have seen it move to a permanent charge. Seems there's potentially something to that.

There's my little lesson for today. Do with it what you will. ;)

This information is exactly what people need to know. Although, I do think it is the act of wondering through anticipation, which is part of the experience here. Some will hear it and some won't.

What's wrong with what the chat rep said? Not saying that you're wrong, it's just exactly the same thing that they told me when I called them.

I think those that pre-ordered online should feel a lot better because at least they can track it.

I did my pre-order in the store and I don't get nothing but a receipt and a phone call when it's ready for pickup

Same here. Got there twenty minutes after they opened to preorder after failing miserably to get to the pre-order page a few hours before. Worked out because I had a gift card with $$ on it.

I also ordered a gold 6 16GB this morning after seeing the ship estimate at 2-5 business days. This is my screen right now..

As someone else stated before in this thread, I think people really need to stop bugging customer support for this. Multiple people here have posted the link to Sprint's site saying that exact same thing about what time you ordered vs. when you *should* get the phone.

I also think if a person orders a phone through any carrier or apple, they need to not cancel that order just to try to weasel a day or two sooner from another source. It's getting ridiculous and I truly believe this behavior is driving a lot of the delivery times back for everyone else.

Of course this is all just my humble opinion and anyone else is entitled to think something else. I do think I'm right, though.

Before anyone says "oh he mad cause he can't get one on release day" that isn't true.

day or 2 sooner? You mean 4-6 weeks or november? That's when most will be getting the iphone 6 +'s . That being said, i am not going to the sprint store and waiting and hoping they get any in for "sale". Sprint charged me, and if they expect people to wait a month to receive an item they already were charged for, that's ridiculous in my opinion.

Yeah the 4-6 week thing worries me. My bank definitely posted my charge and it's not pending. But I also got my pre order in later than the midnight people as I had to add a line to my family plan and the sites crashing made it impossible to do so. So I got my order in at 8am PST after being 2 hours on the phone. So my order was technically over the phone. I have no status update on my 6+ But I can check the orders status on the tracking section of the site.

I'm just assuming I'm ****ed and I'll be getting mine in late October. If I wasn't without a phone then I probably wouldn't attempt to go to the store in person on Friday to try to get them to fill my order vs accepting a month delay.

I keep hoping I'll go to this thread and see someone who has a tracking number. This is my first time pre-ordering. I'm getting impatient!

I'm sure regular 6 models will start getting tracking pretty soon. I would be shocked if like not a single person that ordered the 6 model didn't get a tracking. Although someone did say that sometimes Sprint doesn't even give a tracking # until the day it's out for deliver to your house. So if that is the case, I still think we'll hear a lot of people who get their phone on the 19th.

Now the 6 + model is different. Maybe a few people will get them on the 19th. But I really do expect most people that pre-ordered to be in limbo (unless Sprint is telling people the wrong info).

I agree with you. I wish people would stop posting questions and answers that have already been brought up multiple times earlier in this thread. Go back and read. And be patient. You'll get your damn phone when you get it. And to all those who are threatening to cancel your pre-order: please do, it's just gunna move the rest of us up and we'll get ours even sooner. So thanks in advance.

Doubt it will move people up substantially at this rate. Seems like Apple really dropped the ball with the supply side of things for launch, and it will be 3-4 weeks regardless if people drop out now. The phones don't exist right now! :p

While I agree with this and I personally would be happy if I got my 6+ before the end of September, you have to admit that it is very poor business that Sprint can't give anyone a clear answer as to when to expect their purchases. A broad "3 week" delivery span wouldn't be acceptable in any other circumstance. If I had pre-ordered anything other than an iPhone, I would have canceled my order and purchased it from some place that I trust to give me accurate and honest expectations. That's my only issue with all this. I find it really hard to believe that Sprint has absolutely NO idea what's going on with their stock.

I'll hand it to you though, it's not benefitting anyone to keep asking Sprint the same questions because we've all figured out by now that reps are widely inconsistent in their responses and suggests they really have no idea what they are talking about, or are just being told to give us generic "good news" to settle us down.

Sprint says it's Apples fault. I guess they figured if Apple was that late to get them their product, and demand was so high, they might as well get the line started early. Apple totally botched this release. Should have just delayed 6+ to a Nov release.

There has to be some stock of the iPhone 6+. I'm part of the first batch saying UP TO 3 WEEKS. not 3-4. I'm completely fine with getting a new phone on October 3rd. Even though I dropped my iPhone 5 in water and am stuck using a crap android. Patience is a virtue people. When you all began your pre-order, sprint had a notice of shipping delays and now you're all bitching because you handed them your money even after seeing shipping delays. I personally don't think it's that big of a deal if they are short on the 6+. I read tech blogs everyday and there were plenty of articles saying there were production issues with the 6+. You kind of had to expect it.

hey guys if you go to sprint.com/buyback & trade in any iphone thats not cracked & is still working i think they give you a minimum of $200 off your iphone 6 order.

so heres what i know already via sprint rep chat:

1. if you dont use the credit towards iphone 6 or 6+, you get the (non promotional) lower trade-in price (ex. sprint 8gb iphone 4 was $36 and 16gb iphone 4s by sprint was $102). so, if you trade in an iphone and get the iphone 5c ($29 w contract extension), for example, you dont get the $200 off your bill, you only get the quoted price.

2. you have to use the promo code "iphone6" without quotes and go through the drop down menus to "add" the item, then fill in your address & stuff (actually you add that promo code in this area), then click a terms and agreements box, then "submit". then you have to print out a shipping label and mail your iphone on or before 09/29/14.

heres what i DONT know:
i ordered a few iphone 6 pluses on sunday (i know this was late, but im ok with not getting it first...had to think about it for a while & what really convinced me was the iphone trade in program) and it said that i have to wait 3-4 weeks. now does this mean that i have to mail in my iphone 4s and wait to get an actual phone? do i have to be without my phone for about 1-1.5 weeks or so?

it was sunday, so they gave me a # to call for today but i havent got around to it yet...if anyone knows, pls lemme know!

thanks!

finally called up sprint today during a long drive. the first number (given to me by the rep via chat) couldnt say anything abt sprint buyback program but said he was able to tell me about my order status that i placed for my family instead.

so i said ok & (pre-orders placed on the 14th @ 7pm-ish sunday night) i should get the 3 iphone 6p's within 4-6 weeks of the preorder date (so about oct. 14th - nov 1st-ish). that was for 1 of each color 16gb iP6p's...

then he transferred me to the sprint buyback program & the lady said its all good, dont worry about the iphone buyback deadline & keep your old phone until you get the new one in your hands & activated...she said they dont want you to go 1.5 months without a celly. she said that they "take care of all that stuff on the back-end" & we will get the full $200 trade in value as long as the form was submitted before 09/29/14...

TAKEAWAY: deadline is kinda meaningless, submit forms by 09/29 & send in old phone only whenever new iP6p is in hand & activated. keep documents for proof.

I read tech blogs everyday and there were plenty of articles saying there were production issues with the 6+. You kind of had to expect it.

This. I really wasn't expecting the 6+ to be available alongside the 6. I was completely shocked when Tim Cook said they would both be available on the 19th. I figure as long as Sprint holds true to it's "up to 3 weeks" for the first group of orders, I'll be a happy camper. It's still earlier than 2015!

This is good to know. I wasn't able to process any of my 3 trade-ins when placing my pre-orders so it's nice to know there isn't a huge rush to get it done.

Apple totally botched this release. Should have just delayed 6+ to a Nov release.

Because in November there wouldn't be demand?

Stockpiling 8 weeks of inventory for November only means that 4 weeks of inventory will sit in a warehouse rather than in customer hands. Demand is going to be high throughout the rest of the year so moving inventory as quickly as it is created is best for everyone.

Well I spoke to Sprint about those on Easy Pay and those of us who pre-ordered won't have to start paying until the phone is activated
