My guess is no one wants a phablet. It's too damn big to actually carry around and use and really for the ultimate tech geeks who don't want to carry around a tablet in addition to a smartphone.

When u look at that pic showing the sizes from the 5 to the iPad mini, it's like wow, they're so exponential in their ratios. It's like the golden mean or something. Perfectly scaled up from size to size. My hope out of this is that they don't can the 5c. I like it and I like the form factor. Bets on for next years 6s in both 6 models, while the 5s case goes and gets recased inside a 5c case, with new colours to boot. They should have actually done this when they announced the 6 but they probably wanted all the focus on those new phones.

I stopped in the Apple store today to check out the 6 and 6+. Darn, too big for my pockets. People I see using large phones always seem to have bags (purses, backpack, messenger bags etc) where they keep their phones.

I like the 4S size for it's compactness that fits easily into any clothing. At this point I'd be very happy with a 5S size phone with the power of the 6.

Yes, it is very annoyingly large. Even the iPhone 5 barely fits in my pockets comfortably.

A 4" device doesn't fit your pockets well? I'd say that's more an issue of your pants than phone sizes.

That being said, with the reports I've seen of iPhone 6+'s bending, if I get one I will not keep it in my pocket unless it is sufficiently large enough.

Very misleading chart. I ordered a 6 Plus at 2:01 AM CST on the 12th and still haven't gotten it yet. That said - it is due to arrive tomorrow. :)

Give Apple about a month to see what the real adoption rate is. 6 out of 7 people I know that pre-ordered phones - ordered the 6 Plus. Another is on the fence. He wants the battery and screen of the 6 Plus but fears it is going to be too big. He is waiting to see how mine feels in my hand. Seeing one in the store with the security cable attached to the back doesn't really allow for a realistic hand holding experience.

I have seen bent iPhone 5 and 5S phones. If you are hard enough on these devices...they will brake. If anything - the 6 being thinner would make it easier to bend...or at least offset any advantage that it has over being shorter than the 6 Plus.

i had the plus on order but i cancelled it after i saw it at the store for the very first time. i literally laughed out loud in the store because it just seemed silly and so huge to me. i knew it was gonna be big but i didnt expect it to be THAT huge. ill be fine with the reg. 6

my sis was like "how cool is that the new iPad Mini?"

Haha! When I chech out the 6+ someone said that it was just like the Mini!!! But in my opinion the 5.5 is pretty nice. Praying for a 5.5 iTouch 6
:D

too soon

This measurement has no real value right now. Local AT&T store got something like 50 iPhone 6's and zero iPhone 6+'s on release date. So, yeah, the iPhone 6 is really, really outselling the 6+ -- but that's only because no one can get the + at all. Recheck in 1-2 months and see what's happening then.

I seriously doubt there are a large number of iPhone 6 purchasers who purchased a 6 because they couldn't get a 6+. I think you're just telling yourself that so you can feel some sense of superiority because you were able to get a 6+. I'm sure the vast majority of people who bought a 6 did so because that's what they wanted to buy. An iPhone isn't like an ice cream flavor that you substitute just because they're out of your flavor. Think about it. If I had wanted a 6+ and they were out of them, I simply would have waited for them to be in stock.

did you wait in like for 8 hrs like i did only to find out i couldn't get a 6+ and talking to the majority of the people in the line when we all got hands on and towards the front of the line. People where choosing what they had in stock and not what they originally wanted. TONS of people chose what they had because they didn't want to wait. My older brother i found in the line did this and his son. Both settled because of stock. Me personally because I'm a techy i don't want to settle for something I'm living with for 2 years. I care about color and what phone it is and memory. They ended up with the wrong color they originally wanted and 6's not the plus they both wanted. I ended up complaining and getting a free case. pshh

Ah that's just North America. In the UK all iPhones are sold out with 3-4 weeks wait.

Could it also be that iPhone 6 is a more wanted device? I had a look at the 6 Plus but it's way too big for my pockets!

These numbers don't hold water at the moment, as they do not denote the shortages for various models. This will change daily. I purchased the iPhone 6 Plus Gold 128GB, and here in Australia the Plus sells more.

I'd love to have my Plus, it's just that I have a few more weeks to wait. :D

A hand full...

I visited a local ATT Store and played with both and while the 6Plus was impressive I wasn't keen on the handling of the plus, especially when you consider adding a case of some sort.

In my view, the strongest plus for the 'PLUS' is that it can logically be used as an in-car Navi that's easy to view with a decent mount. Frankly, I think I'd rather opt for an iPad Mini for that purpose and go for the smaller
6 :apple:

Like others have said, I don't think this really reflects the desire for the 6 plus entirely. Had I known I was looking at a mid-late November wait time being one of the very first pre-orders on the 6 plus, I'd have just gotten the 6.

I think this is still more of a chart of "People willing to wait 2-3 months for their phone, and people who wanted it immediately".

In my own opinion, the 6 is more than enough for everyday use. I am not very convinced to choose the 6+ just because it has wider screen. Plus, it might hardly fit in my pocket.

No. It's a smartphone. It isn't near the size of even the smallest tablets.

Yes it's quite a lot smaller than the mini. The question is does the way you use your iPad Mini translate well to the smaller iPhone 6 Plus, and if it does you may no longer want a separate tablet device.

I think I could comfortably do all the tasks I use an iPad for from the 6 Plus. But I'm far from sure I want to - yet.

On CNBC, a financial channel, one reporter had a source at Apple that reported 57% of 10m pre-orders were the iPhone6. Given the internet usage data there is a clear indication the vast majority of deliveries were 6 not 6+.

Rocketman

One theory is that very high percentage of Plus purchases are being made on behalf of someone in China, so thats why you arent seeing those in the useage stats.

This makes sense when the ratio of internet usage is about 7:1 but the production volume stats say its 3 or 4:1. So many of those Plus's will end up other side of the planet where they arent susceptible to statistics gathering.

Don't know why there are so many phablet haters.

I just think the 6 Plus is in low supply. I'm waiting another 2-3 weeks for mine.
