case

The back of the new iPhones do not look nice at all. Those lines make the phone look really cheap. I'm gonna have to compare the 6+ and Note 4 in person. But right now it really doesn't look close. The Note 4 is becoming more and more appealing, in every way, over the iPhone. Still can't believe I'm finding a Samsung an appealing device.

with a case you will not see the back of the phone

Ahhhhh forget it, I just need to stop thinking and be happy with my choice.

No matter what, I'll just want what I don't have.
If I get the 4.7", I'll have 5.5" envy.
If I get the 5.5", I'll have 4.7" envy.

Thanks, Apple. :p

Since I can see that you already have an iPad mini, I'd suggest that you pick the 4.7" iPhone, since you already have a fairly small and portable device which might still give you a more convenient overall experience at home / school / work than an 5.5" iPhone. And when you're on the go, the 4.7" should be plenty enough. ;) But it's just my opinion.

I hope a lot of people think like that. At least I will not be accused of buying a phone only for trying to look cool with it. I'll look so silly with that huge thing, especially when talking on the phone, that people will go: "Huh? He bought an iPhone for the functionality, the ease of use, the integration with OS X and the build quality? Well, that is a surprise!"

You definitely have some problem if your only issue is what others think about you buying any phone.

So will it be HUGE or is that a smallish pocket? The 4.7" alternative is only 2cm "less huge" (tall) than the 5.5". 2cm is less than 1 inch. So it too would be sticking out of that pocket quite a bit.

Watch this video for a lesson in size perspective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEheh1BH34Q#t=86 On my iMac screen, VY Canis Majoris- largest known star in the universe- looks like it's about 2 inches tall. If I hold an iPhone 5s up to that same screen, it looks about twice as big as the biggest star in the known universe. Point? I wonder if the 6 or 6+ will even fit within the entire universe?

Or maybe the guy is just small wearing a shirt with small pockets?

One more time: the 6+ is about 2mm taller than U.S. paper currency. Is a $1 bill "HUGE"?

Thanks for the lesson, all I meant is that it is big, which it is.. I wouldn't only describe huge as height

You'd be surprised how many people do not use cases to flaunt the beauty of their device.

One thing we lost with the iPhone6 and 6+ is you can no longer stand an iPhone on the side or bottom by itself to watch a movie on a table without holding the phone.

I guess thinner is what we asked for... right?

Yes, that would be true if I had said anywhere that this is my only issue. Or even a major issue.

I always feel that if people read something into postings that had never actually been said, it says a lot about them.

The pocket picture of the 6+ reaffirms my pick of an iPone 6. I can see women keeping it in a purse but most guys will be laughed at. I work in an all male company and I guarantee I won't see one of these phones at work. I can see thousands of these being returned for the iPhone 6.

Nothing surprised. Phone stores in China and Vietnam already got delivery that they ordered and just wait for launch day. Some people with authority off course can get their hands on the phone ahead of time from these stores as always happened in communist countries.
I had a friend in Vietnam who imported 3 of 250cc scooters while the law over there allowed only up to 150cc version at that time. It made him a unique normal person owing one of them, the second person was the head of airport custom and third one was a high ranking official.

4.7" looking like the perfect size

5.5" probably isn't nearly as bad as it sounds to hold in hand. I'm just concerned about lugging it to the gym or on a run. Might be a little uncomfortable in fitted jeans too.

Can't wear skinny jeans cuz my knots don't fit... :)

Yeah the plus should be fine in slacks, but jeans may be a little snug... Sigh. Oh well... Can always sell for a crapton of $ this weekend after I pick it up Friday, and use my 5 till I get a regular 6. :) we'll see though... Will probably be fine!

It's like upgrading from a 40" TV to a 55"..

Really, you are concerned someone may laugh at you? I wouldn't want to work with a bunch of neutered wimps who are afraid someone may laugh at the size of their phone.

cancelled my 6+ preorder. I can wait and I don't want that thing without holding it first. May end up going with the 6 instead

I am talking about my biggest concerns re: the appearance of the phone. My biggest concerns about the phone itself are how fast is it and does it run iOS and not that Android crap! Believe me, I am not a girly girl, far from it, and if my husband every called me "his lady" he would get punched in the face!

Geez, learn to take a joke. I was actually complimenting you for your humorous comment and not acting like a lunatic/freaking out about the size.

That's a good point. If it's anything like my TV experience, the 5.5" will be an initial shock at first for most, with some lingering thoughts of doubt. But give it 2 weeks, and it'll just be normal and you won't want to go back.

I went from a 42" to a 55", and let me tell you, that was weird. My TV was set up, I was all excited, I turn on the TV... then my girlfriend and I both look at each other and said "Oh man, this TV is really big. Too big? Maybe too big for the space. Hmmm" We were changing the channel to sitcoms, news, etc. It looked too big. We had some worry, a little buyers remorse that we went too big.

It took maybe two weeks before the 55" was just "normal". I no longer even notice its size. It's just the TV as it has always been. And the size really is just normal, I couldn't imagine downsizing at this point. In fact, my next TV will obviously have to be at least a 65" to be worth the upgrade. ;)

Btw, I got the 4.7" this time, but we'll see what the future holds for my next iPhone purchases.

It's clearly a mockup running Android, I mean just look at those bezels.

I still don't believe Apple would sell an iPhone with these seams... ;)
