Me thinks it's a fake

Compare the True Tone Flash from this post to the ones pictured on Apple Store sight. Note how all the Apple pictures show the more orange portion of the flash positioned down.

In the pocket picture the orange portion in on right side of phone, left side of picture. Anyone else notice that?

The iPhone 6 with character and number tag on the front panel is the real one.

Those are Apple employee / internal used phone....

Which I am wondering where they get those from....

I was all set to get the 4.7" iPhone 6, but I decided to print both mockup on cardboard and pocket them.

The 5.5" is very pocketable in the front pocket of my jeans and work pants.

Before you make a decision, definitely mock it up, its surprisingly smaller then you think.

See below image link for size comparison to Apple Magic Mouse and standard post-it notes.

I did the exact same thing... I was surprised as well. I think the picture with the phone in the pocket is a misrepresentation. Thats obviously not a standard adult size shirt.

I want to upgrade my iPhone 4S, but think they are too big. I didn’t like the 5 series because of the weird screen size ratio, but now I’m considering to skip the 6 series as well. The 3,5” is still the perfect size for me.

Weird?
It's the exact right ratio 16:9 like a movie screen

The SAR values are too high, I'll pass.
I want something better than my iPhone 5 in that domain.

For the curious, according to the FCC, this is for the iPhone 6 :
Head : 1.18 W/kg
Body : 1.18 W/kg
Simultaneous : Head 1.51 W/kg, Body 1.58 W/kg
The permitted limit is 1.6 W/kg (over 1 gram of tissue).

The iPhone 6 Plus is slightly worse.

2 cm is a lot though, especially when the 4.7 inch is pretty long to begin with. It's close to the Samsung Galaxy S5 in height

The point of that was poking at relative points-of-view. There's a vocal group singing "monstrosity", "HUGE", "will look stupid", "only women with purses" and on and on often followed by something like "which is why I'm glad I got the 4.7". RELATIVE to the one they got, it's only 2cm taller but that group is just fine with 4.7" in spite of it being noticeably bigger than the prior "perfect".

I find it funny how easily "we" jump on 4.7" as being perfect… how "we" got up in the wee hours to be sure we could get 4.7"... but then we find such fault with an iPhone just a little bigger. 2cm is about the size of U.S. penny. I can't see that as "a lot" (bigger) myself. What it does look like is some kind of weird need that in spite of getting the one "we" want, we feel compelled to put down and wish away the other one. The weird part is that BOTH are made by Apple, so this isn't choosing an iPhone over an Android; instead, for the first time that I can recall, this is the usual gushing love for one new Apple product while detesting another new Apple product (even though the other one existing has ZERO effect on "us"). Apparently, Apple is absolutely right in building the one "we" have purchased and terribly wrong for building the other one.

Again, it's also PERSPECTIVE. "We" have long been accustomed to 4" as "perfect". However, the market beyond "we"- which is much, MUCH larger than "we" has been exposed to Android phones bigger than 6". To them, 5.5" may look small and 4.7" may seem "too small". Apple knows it's die-hard fans will buy ANYTHING, which is evidenced by how readily this crowd is finding 4.7" as the new "perfect". So Apple will get their money. Now that there is also the "HUGE" choice too, they can also attract a much larger market of people who will see these iPhones as "small" and "too small".

You thought someone was a "show off" and a "jerk" due to his size choice in a consumer product? I'm pleased not to be your friend, if you have that kind of attitude - some folks buy things because... oooh, I dunno - they LIKE them, and have no desire to "impress" other people.

It says more about you that you judged a stranger's personality from his size of phone, than the stranger.

LOL you take things WAY to seriously. It was exaggerated. LOL if I was that serious I wouldn't have even considered the plus.

Well I can say this...my phone most certainly won't go in my breast pocket.. wait I don't know if I own any shirts with breat pockets

With 4.7" availability slipping to 7-10 days, you look to have a solid week to determine whether or not the 5.5" is for you - well within your 14 day return policy window.

While I'm pretty sure to stick with my 128gb, space grey, 4.7" scheduled for in-store pickup on Friday... I'm definitely interested to check out the 5.5" on display to see if an exchange is in order.

I'm almost positive I won't change. I'll admit for a fraction of a second I considered switching

I don't think they know for sure, they said they couldn't test the battery on the 6 so they don't actually have the device it seems.

Looks like they are guessing...

Early benchmarking using the Geekbench application suggests that the processor is dual core, and has a frequency of 1.4 GHz. It's paired with 2GB RAM. The iPhone 6 Plus is consummately slick and zippy in use

hope this batch of phones won't have any screen issues like yellow tints or pink tints!
going to be fun trying to get a replacement this early.
cross fingers.

A 55” television? That’s like the size of a small car! My neighbor down the road aways has a 40” TV on which I could pretty much watch his movie picks from my kitchen if I made the effort. I hope he doesn’t upgrade to a 55” because the light-spill is already annoying. All that flickering when the villains race in for the kill...

How bout a 110" 1080P 3D ... Gotta love a good Mancave!

After looking at the 6+ in the front pocket I'm pretty sure I will be purchasing the 6. I would not want to carry that in my shirt pocket or the front/rear pocket in my pants. Not even in a holster on my belt. When I make an important purchase I like to hold it in my hand. I might change my mind when I see one in person but i doubt it.

You got to pick a time? Or is that when the store opens?
I'm in Canada and I did the iPhone reservation at:

https://reserve-ca.apple.com/CA/en_CA/reserve/iPhone/availability

I don't know how it works elsewhere but it let me select a 1 hour window (8:00 - 9:00 was the first available). Sounds like there will be two lineups. One for people who didn't reserve and one for people who did. Hopefully it will save waiting in line for more than an hour.

You didn't have a choice?

It's also an unlocked - no contract phone so maybe that is the difference.

Or just don't buy little shirts, which looks like the case in that photo. The 4.7" would stick out almost as much- the difference is only 2cm. To my eyes, I guess about 40% of the 6+ is sticking out of that pocket. 158.1mm times 60% (the amount inside the pocket) = about 95mm. The 5s is just under 124mm, so if that guy had a 5s tucked in that pocket, about 2cm would be sticking out (which apparently is "a lot" when talking about 6+ being 2cm taller than the 6, so "a lot" would be hanging out if it was a 5s in there). If it was a 4.7" in that pocket, about 4.3cm would be sticking out (about two times "a lot"). This subjective math says that's one short pocket, as all 3 iPhone sizes would be noticeably hanging out.

Again, the 6+ is about the height of the width of a U.S. Dollar. Put an unfolded dollar in your own pockets and it's very close to the length of a 6+. It's an easy, uniform way to turn wild imaginations into a realistic sense of the size in YOUR own pockets.

Fold over two $1 bills at Washington's chin, lay them out chin-to-chin and that gives you a close representation of both the height & width of the 6+. It's nowhere near as "HUGE" as some are trying to imply. Yes, BOTH are bigger than the 5s but that's key to getting bigger screens. If the 4.7" is fine, the 5.5" is only a little bigger than the 4.7". Some buyers will want & love one. Others will want and love the other… just like we do with iPad Minis vs. Airs, iMac 21" vs. 27", 11" laptops vs. 15", etc. Only apparently in this particular product do we find such fault with having 2 choices.

So what you're saying is, it's huge...

"Is that a 6+ in your pocket or are you just happy to me me?"

Seriously though, those going for the 6+, are you upgrading from the iphone 5 or 4? Thats a big jump in size. Having personally gone from a 4" to a 4.6" phone myself, I can say it felt like a big leap in screen space. Can't imagine from 4" to 5.5".

I'm upgrading to the 6+ from an iPhone 4s with a 3.5" screen and I can't wait.

----------

Apple should have shrunk the real-estate above the screen to make it less tall. All of that space may have been okay when the screen was 3.5 inches, but the bigger the screen size, the more that phone becomes too tall to fit in a pocket.

I completely agree and I'm not sure why Apple didn't notice this either. Other devices which have a comparable screen size or larger aren't as tall as the 6+ is. I think they could have been more efficient in reducing the bezel size above and below the screen.

Yeah but what are the chances I could get him to watch Downton Abbey on it?
