same $h!t every year. Maybe they will finally rent additional server space to handle the load by the launch of the iPhone X
 
So the app is working sort of... I get everything picked out, when I select AT&T or Sprint I can "continue" but not Verizon - that still says unavailable. Of course, I'm a verizon customer.

Woe is me.
 
I can report now that I got my order to go through (space grey, 6, AT&T, 64GB) on the iOS app. I did immediately get a confirmation email as well as an order number, unlike the limbo I'm seeing this year and saw in past years from carrier sites that took a while to catch up.

There do seem to be problems even with the app. It took a number of tries for the continue button to light up and there were a few timeouts after that, most notably on the upgrade check, but all eventually went through. I did not add any accessories, and was offered a choice of shipping or pickup at the closest store. I changed the pickup point to the other local store and the app didn't blink at that.

My husband and I have a shared plan, but I am the master account holder, so it was my SSN that was required (last four), so if you're secondary on someone else's plan, get that info now before you try to check out. I do know that the app does ping AT&T for plan status as it correctly determined that we have a grandfathered unlimited data plan. The confirmation email does state that that plan remains in effect.

As of a few minutes ago, the app was displaying "Available on 9/19", so I'll be picking it up next Friday. Again, this has to be done by the master account holder, so kids on parents' accounts, your parent will need to be the one presenting ID at pickup.

We plan for me to use this phone, since he's not as anxious as I am to play with new toys (the new camera, for instance - I'm the shutterbug, and the NFC feature doesn't interest him) so I'll be swapping the SIM out of my 5s before activating it, but we will need to visit an AT&T store to get him a new SIM as his aging 4s (with fading battery life to match, hence the upgrade badgering from him) has a micro-SIM, which will not fit the 5 and up. Hopefully there will be no problems; we did something similar to this some years ago with a different iPhone release.

If the continue button doesn't light up, change colours and see if that makes a difference, then back to the colour you prefer. And I wouldn't advise switching away from the in-progress order, especially if you are upgrading -- it's not fun to have the carrier's system think you ordered an upgraded phone while Apple's thinks you didn't. Just tap retry when prompted, or press Continue again.

Purchased via app on ipad mini crashing ONE THOUSAND TIMES, picking up at local store on 9/19.
 
Dude, i actually was able to get into At&t WAY before 3am, and it says my order will ship on this date lmao!? I got my confirmation email at 2:48am. I hope this will eventually update and At&t is just off right now. I got two btw for two of my lines.

Tried website without success. tried app on iPhone and iPad and finally got through with the iPad app. Got 128GB Space Gray 6Plus for pickup.

Where do you choose pickup?? I want to pick it up in France but I don't live there..

It kept saying unavailable for all colours and capacities. I went for any 6plus I could get for AT&T and finally just now...I was able to order. It took about 8 mins for me to get my order in with all the bugs and hiccups in the app but I got a confirmation.

I was getting a delivery window for the first few days of october but was able to switch to a pickup in store for 9/19.

Was this an ordeal. If I'd known the Apple Store website was going to be down I'd have ordered through AT&T or the Apple Store App directly.

App store website is still down for me. Hot mess....HOT MESS!
 
Site up but 3-4 weeks delivery on 128GB 6+

Very disappointing to find that if you order a 128GB 6+ it says 4 weeks but 64GB models 7-10 days :(
 
I love all the complaining and blaming apple for everything. Supply and demand folks! And no it could not have anything to do with the crappy networks supporting your internet/providers would it. Get a grip! Lol calm down. It's not always apples fault.
 
I think I'm good to go, but not sure. Got an order # but it said we will send you a confirmation shortly. Not sure if that means that i'm good to go or if there's a chance something gets messed up...
 
So other people on verizon are getting emails. The site didn't open up until right at 3:00 and I probably finished ordering at 3:04. I have yet to get any confirmation other than the initial order confirmation page.
 
Good god. That was the most hectic upgrade I have experienced thus far. Verizon's site utterly failed, and Apple's own site is out cold.

Got my first order in at 2:55 on Verizon's site. The 2nd order took me until 3:35 to reach checkout.

They also already took out the tax since i am doing it through NEXT, $45 for each.
 
Apple out of stock; AT&T still has some

It took an hour, but was able to order two iPhone6 via AT&T (128 Gray + 64 Gold). The Apple Store app worked, but says that they have no more iPhone6 inventory of any color or capacity. Apple's website just displays "We'll be Back".

Don't want to worry you folks but same thing happened to me last year with ATT. Got through the ordering process in a breeze, with confirmation number in hand. Waited, waited and waits more for that damn confirmation email...nothing. The next moing I called ATT and it turns out the order never went through! I was so pisses I bowed MEVER to buy through ATT. By the time I ordered shipping times had slipped to 2-3 weeks

Maybe considering buying from Apple and cancel the ATT ORDER

First order for my wife used bank card and nothing is showing as a pending charge. No email yet

Second order for myself also no emails, but used AMEX and I see the pending charge ($1 preauth), but it is there twice. I guess if you see this then the order submitted ok?

If that first order didn't go through my wife is going to kill me!
 
finally got through on verizon

iPhone 6 to be delivered by 9-19! only took 53 minutes, and apple website was down entire time
 
Had to be patient. Apple website is a loss. Don't waste your time.

Managed to order the wife's 64MB 6+ Space Gray on the AppleStore iPad app with lots of effort. She'll get hers the 19th it said.

Mine went through AT&T and took some time. Finally got a 128MB 6+ Space Gray. Site says it will ship "In 14-21 days"

Thank God I ordered the wife's first! :eek:
 
Apple Store App

Success: iPhone 6 128GB Space Gray (GSM). The store app on my current iPhone displayed 'We'll be back' status until 12:25 am (PST), then allowed me to place the order. I refreshed constantly by killing / relaunching the app. The "being processed" email arrived at 12:30 am. Didn't need to enter my line number via store app, it was automatic. Impressed.
