iPhone 6 Begins Shipping to Customers for Sept 19th Delivery

I ordered two iPhone 6 64 GB and they're showing delivery on the 19th...but...shouldn't they have shipped if they're supposed to be here on the 19th?

Apple usually requires that, but AT&T does not do that all of the time.

Apple ships FedEX, so you can print out a form that gives the driver permission to leave it if you feel safe doing that. You just have to tape the form on the door when you go to work.

Nah not weird, probably a lot of people will get the tracking monday/tuesday. No one has announced they got tracking from apple yet only the carriers.

Well, due to my upgrade situation (my main number isn't available to upgrade until 11/14/14, so I'm pulling an upgrade on another line), I will be at the store Friday morning.

What is a good time to show up?

When I got my 3GS 5 years ago, I went to the Apple Store on launch day at noon, and got the one I wanted (I think it was a 32GB Black one),


I usually get there at 8am the day before at the latest. I love camping out. Have. Ever had any issues getting what I want. Portland is a pretty heavy apple location, but we have three locations. Here I'd say midnight based on quantity of 6+ if that's what you're after.

Dates changing on AT&T

I had my order in by 2:10 Central for my 128 GB slate gray Iphone plus via AT&T. I had the ship date of most (10/31-11/11). Well it updated today as many have told you to wait as they sort things out. It moved to 2 weeks sooner for the range of ship dates:

So now down to a month to wait. Things are indeed settling on the Plus Preorders!

The lady at our office who handles cell phones just asked. Me and another co-worker got to keep ours. People who were in the field (construction managers) were unable to keep it. I don't ask. However I onow Verizon is sneaky, so when the phone arrives Friday...we will have to make sure they do NOT change our plan once they activate.

I moved from a Note3 to a Nexus5, and all I can saw is WOW. Touchwiz is such a POS. Android is pretty sweet with the Nexus line. I still prefer iOS just because of its fantastic tie-ins with OS X and other iOS devices (iPad and such). If you're only using the phone on its own, I can see why Nexus is a viable choice. If you're got any other iOS device or OS X, then it's a no brainer to get an iPhone.

i preordered mine iPHONE 6+ 128 GB space gray 20 minutes after 12 and still got a delivery date of 10/31-11/11 from the AT&T online store.... cause the apple store was down.

What's with the big panic in buying a 6. It's only a updated iPhone it seems you Americans require everything today.

I always wait until the S iPhone comes out then you know problems are solved, and with not great leap technically with the iPhone 6 I'll keep my 5s until Apple stops providing ISO updates.

Ha!* The place I got the 3GS was at Washington Square! It's weird how they have the Washington Square and Bridgeport Village 5 miles from each other, but nothing on the east side... (Never got to the 3rd one downtown). Thinking back, I don't think the 3GS was as big an update as the 6+, so I think I'll take your advice. Thank you!

Apple just put out a press release saying 6 and 6+ orders top 4 million in just 24 hours. Wow.

Almost everyone who orders in those first hours from Apple gets a notice saying they will get it 1-2 days before launch. It's because that date is calculated automatically. But then when the packages get to the final stage before they hit the actual truck they disappear. Apple has a 'hold delivery' order that kicks in at that point. They don't do it at any earlier stage because they don't want any hiccups on getting it delivered on the right day.

perhaps 100 out of all the phones will accidentally get delivered early having slipped through a crack. But one should never count on it.

I'm roughly same as you. Early Friday on the Apple site they said I had my place in line and had to complete it when servers were less busy. 6plus hold 64 with Estimate 7-10 and delivery the first week of October. Only time will tell!

Anybody got a UPS tracking number yet? I ordered a 64gb plus from Verizon and just searched the order status and it has a UPS tracking number. I also ordered a 6 at the same time and it has a FedEx tracking number. Also, when I click to track it I get carried to the FedEx website????

I have appointments most of Thursday, I'm wondering if, just to be safe, I should put a tag on the door so they'l leave it if somehow they delivery date switches back to the 18th. Does anyone know where to find that form on FEDEX website? Otherwise, I should be available to get it Friday.

There is pretty much 0% chance they will deliver on Thursday. Apple has a hold on all iPhones until Friday morning. There will probably be a few phones that make it through the cracks, but 99.9% will not be delivered until Friday.

I'm signing one even though I'll be home. Our dog likes to try and attack anyone in a uniform. All of our delivery drivers know to just leave packages on the front porch, they don't even knock due to the dog.

Did you order a 6 or 6+ ? And if you checked your shipping date online after you ordered, did it show the same delivery date promised when you ordered? I live in GA and ordered at 3:27 am Friday and still no word on shipping. When I ordered it was promised "delivery by 9/19" but online later that day, the shipping date shows 10/14.

Ordered a 6 w/ 128G. Got tracking numbers from FedEx earlier this afternoon. Bpth phone and SIM are sitting in Memphis waiting to be delivered by this Friday.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Talked to a VZW rep today, said it won't show any change in status until it ships, and that won't be until tomorrow or Wednesday. When I pre-ordered the iPhone 4S, I freaked out at the wait between the order time and ship time, and it shipped just a couple of days before delivery. I was also told by that same VZW rep if my email confirmation said deliver by 9/19/2014, that it WILL deliver on that day. Now it's a game of patience and pacing! 

Lol, for some people it was only 12, that's soooo late. Idk how anyone could still be up at that time.

Here in Hawaii, it was only 9 pm. I finally got my phone at 11:30 pm, then got a good night's sleep.

"FedEx (and I'm sure others) will divert to some of their locations for free (I've got an old Kinkos, that's a FedEx very close) and they just deliver it there and usually call me when it's there (usually VERY early!!!). I do that for lots of packages. Obviously this might not be convenient depending on where you live. They might even deliver to other shipping partners for a small fee (I think FedEx or UPS) does that."



Traded emails with Fedex Customer Service who said that they cannot reroute or hold Verizon Orders, they have to attempt delivery. Since delivery will be by 3pm, it'll be back at the local Fedex Hub by the time I'm on my way home from work..... Oh, it's UPS that charges a fee to divert packages.
