I ended up trying "reset all settings" instead of just network settings. Doing that plus deleting and re-adding the phone and audio allowed it to finally work. That being said, it glitched once and the audio didn't work. But it's worked 3/4 times since i completed the above steps---both phone and Bluetooth audio.

I had the issue on my 2013 f150. Did this, settings, general, reset, reset network bettongs, been working normal ever since.

I did the same thing, reset Network Settings and everything seemed to work normally. Only Caviat here is that I restored from a backup. not sure if that triggered the issue vs. if I had set up as a new phone.

Connected my iPhone 6 to Lexus Bluetooth. Works for Bluetooth music but no Bluetooth phone calls. Phone indicates it's connected and sending audio to the car but absolutely nothing.

Hoping others are experiencing similar issues so we can get this escalated

When I connect Bluetooth to a plantronics hands free device, that works without a problem

I was having the same issue with my iPhone 6 and my 2011 Mercedes Benz E350. I thought it was the car and was going to take it to the MB dealership this weekend. Today, I rented a car while on a business trip and experienced the same issue with a 2014 Chevelot Camaro. I took the phone back to Apple and had it swapped out for a new one. No issues. It's the phone. The technician says that its the vehicle software. That could be true but too many people are having this issue.

I have a 3rd party bluetooth adapter for my aux port and I can't get it to connect to my iPhone 6 Plus at all.

When I connect Bluetooth to a plantronics hands free device, that works without a problem

Mine paired with my 2013 lexus rx 350 easily and also a Lexus Rental yesterday with no problem, I have the 6 plus.

My 128GB iPhone 6+ would NOT connect to my 2012 4Runner, or my fiancés 2013 Sequoia, (even though my iP 5 did fine on both). I tried rebooting, re-pairing, removing devices and reconnecting...all to no avail. I then put my VZ SIM from my iP6+, into my iP5, and had the exact same issue...the music would play, but know phone function. That told me it was an IOS issue, and not a iP6+ hardware issue. Seeking the path of least resistance... I opted to reset 'all network settings' (knowing I could always do the more destructive 'reset all settings' later). So I tested it first on my iP5, and it was successful, so I then proceeded to perform the reset on my iP6+, and that was successful too.

Peace has been restored to the desert ...##

I seem to be in the minority, because I have reset my network settings, and still no phone call in blue tooth. After resetting the network settings, I paired the phone with "Sync" but still the car drops the phone audio after a ring or so. Bluetooth audio works, telephone book download works, but it seems that the car, or the phone, breaks the Bluetooth connection during the call. The call remains active on the phone, but it does not transmit over the Bluetooth audio in the car.

I'm still having the problems also, resetting settings either way will not fix it. There is for sure something wrong with the bluetooth stack on iPhone 6 because ios8 on my iPhone 5 works fine to my car.

I'm also having issues with my 5S connecting to Peugeot 307 handsfree bluetooth, since updated to iOS8. Everything was fine for 3,5 years until now with iOS8!!
Deleted the phone in the car settings, as well as in my iPhone, set to forget old 307 connection.
All set as new, as the very beginning, connection is fine, but NO sound heard in car speakers (either voice calls or any else sounds).
My car speakers are fine. Listening to radio or CD music works just fine.
This morning updated to iOS 8.0.2 hoped this would finally solve the issue - problem is still unsolved!!
Also reset the phone - no cure.
Apple, what is happening with you?
Shame.

I've had a ticket opened on the issue since Saturday. I got a call back from Apple today and the support tech referenced a new document on the issue that was just released today. I've called him to get the link.

Anyway, the bug problem with bluetooth is how 'connected' all apple devices are via bluetooth, wifi, phone call handoff from iphones to ipads via wifi, etc, when using the same iCloud account.

The fix for now is to disable 'find my iphone', reenable it, and then restart the device. Since my iphone was already paired, doing this actually solved the problem - and it still works after a reboot of the phone.

If you can't get the device paired at all, even after the above, then reset your network connections. Then attempt to pair again after blowing away the bluetooth profiles on your phone and car(s).

I'll post a link to the document, but if you don't have multiple devices using the same iCloud account, you shouldn't be having the problem.

I'm sure there is a lot more to it, and this might not work for everyone, and quite confident they'll come out with a IOS patch to fix the problem, although the patch released today does not address the bluetooth issues.

Here's what I did on my 5S:

Updated to iOS 8.0.2;
Reset network settings;
Disabled Find My iPhone (read somewhere among these posts that this could help);
Rebooted iPhone;
Enabled Find My iPhone again;
Renamed my iPhone (I've also read somewhere this could be the remedy);
Rebooted iPhone;
Soft reset iPhone (sleep + home button);
Erased ALL remembered BT devices that had been connected to my car EVER;

All this for NOTHING! The problem remains the same!!!

Does ANYONE from Apple reads this at all?!?
Does ANYBODY from Apple cares at all?!

Does Apple think this is minor problem?!!

Can't believe. So untipical for Cupertino giant.

And its famous reliability is one of the main reasons that I (used to) love Apple devices...

I use mine in my car everyday. I think just a total reset should do the trick as others have said.

Bluetooth working fine here on my 2011 Range Rover Sport. Works for calls as well as Bluetooth audio streaming via a viseeo tune2air adapter plugged into the factory iPod cable.

8.0.2 fixed this for me. On 8.0/8.0.1 I'd get no audio even though the phone said it was connected.

Here's what I did on my 5S:

Updated to iOS 8.0.2;
Reset network settings;
Disabled Find My iPhone (read somewhere among these posts that this could help);
Rebooted iPhone;
Enabled Find My iPhone again;

Reenable find my iphone *before* rebooting.

Still waiting on the link to that article...

No problem here, on a 2012 RX450H and CT200H. The first time it paired, only the phone would work. I had to pair it a second time for the audio (music) to work. It's always been that way, having to pair it a second time.

After I pair it, I had to go back in and select the new phone as the default phone. Otherwise it'll keep trying to connect to the last device to which it connected. Perhaps this is what's happening?

Ok 2013 BMW 335i comvertible....so I had a 6 Plus running iOS 8 and Bluetooth calls were fine but streaming music via the Lightning cable was a nightmare as the start of every music track was jumping and I was no longer getting text messages through iDrive and every so often, the phone would completely disconnect from the car.
Exchanged my phone for a 6 and upgraded to iOS 8.2 and everything is working flawlessly from the outset.
So not sure if it was 8.02 that fixed the problem or I had a faulty Plus 6 but all is well.

Phones tested:
- iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
OS:
- 8.0 and 8.02

Car:
Porsche Cayenne 2014 with Porsche Communication

Issues:
Both phones managed to connect, could play music over Bluetooth.
Calls received could not be answered from car.
Calls made disconnected after a few seconds.

Managed to fix:
- reset PCM to full factory reset and car handover mode.
- reset iPhones with 'reset all settings' (tried all other forms of reset before without luck)
- once reset was complete went to Bluetooth settings in phone and removed the leftover profiles (tried this before phone reset without luck)
- changed iPhone name (tried this before phone reset without luck)
- paired phone and PCM in car.

Now all works as it should!!!

Notes: issue defiantly comes from the phone being restored from a backup of a previous phone when upgrading. All reset instances still had the Bluetooth profiles left in them. Only reset all settings deleted the profiles internals but still left traces. Which had to be manually removed.

I updated to 8.0.2 last night and now when I get in my car my phone is recognized and I can make calls but after 7 seconds the call gets cut off. The call still stays alive on my phone but is killed off on the car bluetooth.

Tried resetting network settings, erased all devices, no luck.

Working fine on my 2014 Toyota Corolla S.

I'm also in a business that provides customers with bluetooth solutions in their cars and I haven't had a single person call or come in with bluetooth issues since launch.
