Having WiFi issues as well, as well as a couple people from work. Didn't restore from back up, set up as new phone (also on my iPad). Tried all the tricks out there and still the problem comes up. Sometimes the speed is just super slow or it won't show any networks available. I really hope there is some sort of software patch they can do.

Wanted to edit just because I do not know if the people at work all set up as new or restored from back up. Also not everyone is having issues, just a couple people

I updated to 8.0.2 and its still happening. Wifi signal toggle of and on and sometimes it forgets the network all together. Battery is draining too.

iPhone 6 occasionally falls off wifi?

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. It will occasionally fall off Wifi without rhyme or reason. Only way to get it to re-join is to turn Wifi off and back on again.

The first time it happened I thought it was the router, but this time I checked the iPad and it was still on the Wifi, and so was my laptop, so it's gotta be the phone.

Pretty sure it's a problem with iOS 8. It happens on my iPhone 6+. Sometimes I have to restart the device. Last night I had to reset network settings to get it to recognize any Wi-Fi signal. PITA

Oddly I haven't seen it on my iPad running iOS 8, although I haven't used it as much so maybe I've just not tickled the bug.

I'm a bit aghast at how Wifi of all things can break; isn't that something that should be pretty much 100% perfected by now? This is the phone equivalent of buying a new car and the wheels occasionally can't rotate.

It's also happened on my Air running 8.0.2.

What happens is, after resetting, my device shows 10 or 12 available networks. I live in a condo development. I just checked on my Air and it shows 3 available. It doesn't even show the lousy wifi that comes with our modem, which is 5 feet from where I'm sitting. Then, it'll die altogether.

I'm experiencing exactly what you're describing, but I'm using a 5S. I have a 6 being delivered on Friday and this is making me hesitate keeping it. At what point are they gonna fix this?

Same issue here. iPhone 6 setup as new phone, Drops off wifi. Can't find any wifi connections until restart or reset network settings.
Happened last night AND this morning.
Both times seem to happen after visiting the App Store.

Happened again upon wake unrelated to App Store. Shut down.
Reset AirPort Extreme (4th Gen) phone connected automatically..

This worked perfectly, the restarting the router. Until I downloaded 8.0.2 This morning.
Wifi dropped out 2x, first time I rest iphone network settings, second time I restarted the router.

Hoping that fixes it again.

My theory is that iOS 8 has an issue where the phone has a harder time locking onto the signal. This results in decreased range and more susceptibility to interference.

The people not seeing problems likely have their router centralized in their house so the distance isn't that great and/or have no close by neighbors so there's no nearby interfering networks.

Well, it's as good an idea as any so far... except that when I had the problem at my girlfriend's house I was 15 feet from her G-router.

No way.
There are 5 neighbours close to me and the phone doesn't see any of their routers. Only rebooting the phone fixes it.

My phone is usually just 3-6 ft away from the router so I don't think it's necessarily the range that's being affected. Likely just a bug in the wireless driver or something that causes wifi to drop out completely.

Being too close can actually be a problem if the router's transmit power is too high, but your likely correct and it's a problem in the drivers.

Here's how I fixed a friends wifi issues with his 6+. Setup your device to get on the network. Once connected, turn off wifi on the phone and power it down. Next go to your modem and router, shut them both off and wait at least a minute to turn the modem back on. Once the modem shows your connected online, turn your router back on. Check with a different wifi device that your connected and getting a good signal. Turn your 6+ back on, turn wifi on the device and run a speed test via that app or a different one you have. Should be good to go.

I'll say this, once I updated his device to 6+ to 8.0.2 he had no additional issues.

To me it sounds more or less like a software issue and Apple will nail it down probably on the next small update. One more thing to check, make sure your router has the latest firmware update installed. :)

Apple Store agreed to exchange my 10 day old phone but only for one of the refurbed units without a box. The guy tried to explain they are new but no way, I kicked off. My consumer rights state that I am entitled to a brand new retail unit, not a white box. Eventually they backed down.

Sharks.

I'm experiencing a different flavor of WiFi issue with my 6 Plus. It sees my router and connects just fine (I get a solid WiFi symbol in the upper left corner), but there's no data flowing through the connection. Everything (Safari, Facebook, YouTube, etc) simply times out without ever loading the data. When I switch over to LTE then I'm fine.

This is with an Apple Airport, which we got just before getting the new iPhone. The same problem is happening to my wife's 6 Plus, so could it be a problem with the Airport? We switched channels and that seemed to help for a couple days, but the problem eventually re-occurs. I should note that the wired connection through the Airport is fine -- it's only a WiFi issue with the 6 Plus's.

HELP! Any suggestions?

I was having issues with wifi at home (FiOS) and then I switched the router security to wpa2 and it works great now. I've never seen faster speeds at home (around 50-60 mb/s down and 40-50 mb/s up consistently)

I'm having similar speed issues over wifi with both my 6+ and my wife's. It's so slow it's unusable. I can run the same speed test with my iPad mini on iOS 8 and the speeds are blazing. I'm going to try switching to wpa2 and see if that does it. Pretty frustrating.
