It's on a 10 year cycle. Enormous phones 20 years ago. Tiny phones about 10 years ago. In another 10 years we'll be back to tiny phones embedded in our brain (if it's not fried by radiation by then). Hang in there.....
You realise I never said Apple should discontinue the 6 and 6 Plus right? I just asked why couldn't they continue the 4" form factor.
I have upgraded my 4S to 6 recently and this is the most I've struggled to use a smartphone. Can't do almost anything with one hand, I constantly have to take my left hand off my hoodie pockets to do even basic tasks on this phone like changing tracks, typing, etc.
I really don't get why Apple couldn't just release a 3rd 4" size. I loved my 4S. This is a big step backwards.
I will continue using my 5S for another year. I like the form factor better. We'll see what Apple does next year.
This is just stupid. Why did Apple have to follow the phablet craze? They did find the best size for a phone to use with the original iPhone. It was perfect. This is just less functional in almost any way.
Apple didn't "follow a craze" they caught up with a changing market. So have you considered that the problem has less to do with Apple and more to do with your desire for things to always remain the same forever?
My grandma had an old wired house phone that she didnt want to upgrade. But for Christmas one year I got her a cordless phone and she hated it because she'd lose the handset, the battery would run out or it was too complex. That didn't mean that "Wired > Cordless", it only meant that HER usage pattern was to sit in this old chair in the kitchen when she needed to talk and cordless was a disruption.
Change isn't for everyone. So maybe you're like my grandma and youre better off with what you got rather than "forcing" yourself to upgrade your phone or how you think.

I have had the 6 for the last 9 days. When I grabbed my wife 5S I couldn't help but think " WOW what a tiny postage stamp sized screen" didn't take me long to fall in love with the 6 and not look back.

4.7 is not a phablet..
That being said I think the 6 is a slight too big. I think 4.5" would have been a better size but I can live with 4.7" since I am able to keep using my phone with one hand.
Right. Before 9/19/2014, nobody used iPhones for anything but phone calls.tiny phones we desired because they were phones. they didnt do anything else. all you needed a screen for was to see the number you dialed.
And yet again......the most important part of your statement is left out........"for me". The "iPhone 6 is way to big (no not the plus) for me"
You realize that the world doesn't revolve around you and your abilities to manipulate an electronic device with one hand, right? I have a 6+ and I can do quite a bit with just one hand such has change a track that I am listening to, scroll through an read the Feedly app, Safari, etc... The Android guys have been doing it for awhile with 4.7" phones and larger. It does take a little time to get used to, especially if you are still using a 3.5" screened 4S. I came from a iP5 to the 6+. It took a little getting used to it but I can't imagine going back to a 4" phone, or a 3.5" phone for that matter. I use my iPad rMini now only to watch movies or TV shows. My iP6+ is what I use for everything else now. When I had the iP5 it was opposite since I hated reading websites on the small screen.
To each their own.
i have a 6 plus....but looking back at a 3.5 screen and i'm in total disbelief that i used it for so many years. we have definitely been missing out on the big screen madness for sure!

Having gone from the 4 size to 5 to the 6 now, yeah, I'm now in the 4 camp. I miss the small form factor and portability. I'm not complaining as I preordered a 6 at launch. I hope they offer a smaller size version in the future. I use my phone as a phone moreso than any other task.
People don't have to say "for me" after everything. Anything that isn't a fact is an opinion. Saying "for me" is stating the obvious.
If I say "the phone is too big" then it's OBVIOUS I mean it's too big for me! I don't have to explicitly say "for me." It is obviously my opinion that the phone is too big if I say "the phone is too big."

That's not really a solution though. I won't be able to use 5S forever either. Eventually I'll have to switch to this size, it seems.
