IT better not be in the final product.

What are you going to do if it is?

If this is the final product then people will line up to buy one just like all other models that people have complained about before announcement. Face it, I don't want a bigger iPhone but big phones are all the rage now. I can't wait to walk around like a ****ing tool with a small tablet against my ear. I hope those kids in skinny jeans understand they need to buy a new purse to hold their new phones because there is no way these are pocketable phones.

Curved glass? Is that now the 1st iPhone ever that's guaranteed to break if you drop it, even when in a cover?

..

we are all now eagerly waiting for a brand new "crude mockup" from macrumors'-yet-another-mockup team!!

I agree...

I miss the all glass front and back also.

Funny how nostalgia has a way of making people fond of stuff that wasn't completely liked during its time. The iPhone 4 had its share of haters.

As far as the iPhone 6 goes, I can tolerate the breaks on the black model (which probably will not be black but "slate grey"). But the breaks on the other models, especially the gold, look terrible. IMO, the HTC One looks much sleeker.

If a 5.5" phone can't fit in your pocket, you need bigger pants.

All rumors need to be taken with a huge grain of salt but I never did buy those thick antenna breaks being in the final design. Most photos we saw of them they were either not completely straight, pieces chipped off. Never did they look like a final design at all. I've said it before and will say it again: I'll sell all my Apple stock if those thick bands are part of the final design.

I haven't been worried at all about the antenna breaks. For the design of the 4/4s, I was really worried about the dual glass design being too fragile, and it was fine. For the 5/5s design, I hated the mockups of the back of the phone, with the metal/glass combo, but it ended up looking fine. Basically Apple has yet to disappoint me with their phone hardware, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Did everyone miss the part of this story that said the antenna breaks will not be part of the final design?

My Nexus 4 has curved glass (slight at the edge). It looks and feels great. I've dropped it a few times (in a case) and it still looks as good as it did when I purchased it. Curved glass does not mean easier breaking.

Maybe thats why its Sapphire

i suppose, we need us some diamond glass lol

It's only saying that the glass will be flush with the aluminum, not that the glass itself will wrap around the edge. If true, it's most likely that the aluminum will wrap around the edge and meet the glass on the front, in sort of a seamless transition.

i see what your saying, would be a rather "smooth" design if it comes to be, not big on the antenna strips but whatever

So mock-ups created by people outside of Apple do not in fact represent the final design?! Stop the presses! More at 11.

Told you ... looked like a dummy in the first place.
There is no way Apple would go with that mix of build quality.
The design might stay, but not the material and finish.

That is a relief, and the curved display sounds interesting, though I'm really curious as to how it'll be implemented as I can't figure out how a curved display would be functionally superior to a straight one (easier to grip, as I'm assuming the curve will only be at the corners?).

VERY happy to hear the bands hopefully won't make production. Very un-Apple like.

My biggest concern is how it appears Apple will keep the MASSIVE front borders on their phones. One video showing the 5.5" iPhone 6 next to a Samesung Note 3 shows the iPhone is considerably larger, yet with a smaller screen. I don't know why Apple is so insisting on keeping industry-leading border sizes which compromise their screen real-estate. I'm assuming it's because they feel it's what gives an automatic visual recognition to it begin an iPhone, but I'd rather the functionality of a smaller physical phone size using as much screen size as possible within it.

Either way, iPhone 6 seems to be what's gonna kick every other phone in the pants, especially after Samsung's dud of a GS5 (which I have, and yes, a fine phone, but a dud, nothing too interesting).

Perhaps these hideous mockups are a controlled marketing exercise from Apple.

1) Introduce dog ugly 'leak' of new iPhone with ridiculous plastic antenna bumpers that otherwise basically looks like an iPod touch.

2) Reveal that it was a prototype and the the real iPhone basically looks like an iPod touch with two cuts.

3) People rejoice, buy millions of units regardless?

Ever carried a 5.5" phone in your pocket and did anything more than walk? I'm not an inactive individual and I could not stand having a 4.7" phone in my pocket.

For being a tech fan these people seem to fail reading comprehension.

I agree with you. not everyone is a 6feet tall male. These people can stuff their big phone up their asses for being condescending and dictating.

Ever since these mock ups started to float around the net, I was hoping this would be the case. It would still wouldn't look as clean, but at least it wouldn't be obtrusive as hell like the mock ups. Let's hope that this rumor has some truth in it.
