We don't know how he had been using / carrying the phone prior to.

Given the size of the phone with an aluminum back, it probably won't take as much force as some might think.

I don't know if there is a design flaw per se, but people need to be careful with these expensive phones, unless they have money to burn.

This is true he could have been misusing it, or a Samsung conspiracy, but judging on the other posts and complaints I'm thinking it probably is somewhat easy to bend. Also, I feel that because this phone is expensive, that it should be able to withstand some hipster's skinny jeans. Because chances are I will be doing some project that will put the same sort of stress on the phone one day. In any case, tomorrow I will go get applecare + for mine, and begrudgingly buy a case when they start coming out.

Happily using my gorgeous iPhone 6+... never put the old one in my pocket and don't plan to do that with this one either.

It's so PURTY! ;)

this is a flaw at the volume section instead of reinforcing those flaws they used rubber gaskets.

After reading the first page i've concluded that it's just a bunch of fanboys who instead criticize apple for making a weak phone they blame the content creator for making a a video about it.

WHY THE HECK ARE PEOPLE DOING THIS TO PHONES

6's are harder to find than hen's teeth around here, and guys are chucking them at the ground and bending them on purpose.

I know why they are doing it, just let a brother vent.

Hmm, I clearly said breaking sales records with the 6's which means both of them. They are Both bigger than prior models. People are showing they want bigger models, period. That includes the 6 model.

To answer your reply though did you not notice how quick the 6+ was sold out? It was held back by lack of supply.

In the future it's actually better if you read the post you are replying to.

Ah, I see you edited your post. I think we won't really know as the 6 plus was out of stock pretty much immediately so the sales numbers are skewed by lack of that model being in stock. I wonder how many bought the 6 because the 6 plus is/was not in stock? Even in 6 months the figures will be skewed, but closer to real, as the lack of 6 plus stock threw it off.

Still, 4 million in 24 hours and 10 million in 3 days is blowing away sales figures on the 4" and below phones when released.

Good point about stock. I guess we'll see in the long run, shoud be interesting either way.

He states in the video there was a light bend after 2 days normal use.

And the apologists are discrediting the video based on that. You can see the bend yourself in the beginning of the video and make a judgement.

I saw the slight bend at the beginning of the video. Im not even talking about that, what about the people that have reported that their 6 plus bent? It was straight first. Clearly this is an issue for the 6 plus.

Things I learned watching this video:
  • A big piece of thin stuff will bend more easily than a small piece of thin stuff.
  • Scientific tests require no measurement.
  • The problem is Apple, not uncomfortably tight jeans.

Samsung Note 3 passed the test...

Apple it's time to use liquidmetal. It will cost more but it is more resistant than titanium.

http://liquidmetal.com

It would be nice that some company could change the body of the iphone and put it on liquidmetal. Some will pay the high price for doing that.

Wow, that video is eye opening. I bet I could bend and break a lot of phones in the same way, but I doubt they would bend in my pocket like the plus is apparently doing. I am now leaning toward the notion that Apple blew this one. It may not be a problem for many, but it sure looks like a design flaw. Bummer.

iPad mini bends as well. I don't know why this is getting so much attention.

The same thing happens every year when a new device is released, and millions of them are sold in the first week. There will invariably be quite a few people who bend their new phones, and then go online and post about it.

Maybe a little worse this year but people bending iPhones isn't new.

For all the plastic hate here i bet you cant bend a 5c like that!

He 6 Plus in a plastic body like the 5c would have been GLORIOUS in Product RED.

This bend test is some nonsense. I did cream and bend the Note 2 but I never sat on it or bent it for show. My IPhone will be fine mostly because I'm not an idiot that wears super tight jeans or shirts. There's not even a scratch on my Plus and its naked half the time.

I wonder why Jony Ive didn't design a couple ribs of aluminum running top to bottom through the phone. The 4 and 4S had separate structure parts and they never bent. Now the iPhone 6 and 6+ have no internal structure parts and they bend
That's not his job. It's up to the engineers to put his designs into a final consumer product.
