What am I making up? Do you think that Apple lists every fix in their release notes? I'm not reading feedbacks from other beta testers. I am the beta tester. I tested every 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 beta. I saw the improvements and at least one improvement that Apple removed.

They surely do list important fixes.
Btw, iOS 8.2 is here :D

Not sure if it's just because of the restart or other have noticed this too, but it seems like some of the lag issues are gone with iOS 8.2? From the past few hours I've been running it, it seems much more smooth on my 6+ than 8.1.3 was

It is smoother but not as smooth as 6 or 5s :( i think it will get even better over time, though it will never be same as 6.

Some games are still laggy. SimCity on 6 is beautiful, 60fps-like, however, on 6+ it is still laggy. :(

I completely agree. Apple has definitely optimized the system performance for the 6+ with this release. There is a noticeable difference to me when moving between apps, opening apps, rotating to landscape, etc. Even the mail app, which used to take forever to log into the gmail server and then display the contents of any individual mail has been sped up considerably. I don't think this can be chalked up to the "placebo effect" as I've been using it heavily since upgrading yesterday and the phone is still very responsive. It operates like my wife's iPhone 6 now :).

All-in-all, I think there is a pretty dramatic difference and I'm surprised I've not read more about it from others. In any case....well done Apple! It is so nice to purchase a tech product that continues to improve over time.

Perhaps this thread will drift to page 2 of the forum now ;-).

Definitely noticing a significant performance boost on my plus as well with 8.2, even decreased frequency of page reloads in Safari and just overall better memory management and decreased lag in performing tasks. now I just wish they would get rid of home screen rotation into the upside down orientation, don't know why that bugs me so much

I believe upside down home screen is fixed in iOS 8.3.

And yeah I don't understand why rotating spotlight has caused so many issues. My iPad mini 2 can rotate the blurred passcode screen at 60fps while rotating the blurred home screen with a keyboard is a HORRENDOUS sloppy mess. Even if you hit the button to make the keyboard recede, spotlight still lags when it is rotated. Makes no sense.

8.3 doesn't allow for 6 plus homescreen to rotate upside down anymore? That'd be fantastic!

You can turn it off.

If I hadn't already given my iPhone 5 to my father the day my 6+ arrived, then I would have sent it back within the 14 day cooling off period and returned to my i5. Silly me expecting the 6+ to be better in every respect than the two years older i5.
Due to all the purchased apps I have and the 'ecosystem', it isn't quite so straightforward as to ditch my £700 phone and buy an Android one. I had strongly considered the Note 4 once the iPhone 6 specs had been released but I didn't like it when I went to try one out. Nor did I like the Nexus 6. So I figured that the 6+ would surely be no worse than my iPhone 5...
I certainly shan't be keeping it beyond 12 months though. Apple let me down with this one, and it almost cost the price of a MacBook so I'm not best pleased.

Sunking, tell me how do you think of 8.2? Better smoother?

MUCH smoother. Still a few bugs, a couple of them majorly irritating, but the UI is a million times better.

You have the 6+?

I have the 6+ and yes.. Its smoother then the build before. What kind of bugs you discover or appears?

It's kind of lazy to blame it on RAM. Most likely the issue will be fixed with a software update. It's not like rotating the screen in that scenario suddenly pushes the phone beyond its limits.

It's now March 17 and nothing fixed yet. The only sign of any attention to problems is Apple's decision to use 2 GB RAM in new iPhone 6 models. I really hope it's just software but Apple has had more than enough time to fix that and if software it never should have been sold like this to start with. What do they do when it's hardware, such as if it is RAM? Does AppleCare give me any more protection and likelihood of getting a new 2 GB model?

Source for that please??

Updated based on the comments here. Definite improvement, much more acceptable now. It's not perfect, but I'm happy they addressed it, even if done quietly. It feels like Yosemite vs first version of Mavericks on Retina Macbook Pro, which had the exact same issues.

Pulling up control panel right after launching an app has much much less stutter, pulling it up any other time is smooth now so far. I think they changed the way the icons blur when spotlight is pulled down, perhaps that helped it.

Where's this lag everyones talking about on the 6+ ?

Had the phone since dec and yet to see any lag on this beast. Please educate me of this lag everyones gossiping about.

Everybody isn't talking about it. Just one sinking person and a couple of his "friends".

I don't experience any lag. Some people just "look" for problems or create them by using the product in extreme ways most others don't, then they expect perfection. I would rather use my iPhone and enjoy rather than attempt to turn into the defective product that it's not.

Pull down spotlight and rotate the screen. Enjoy looking at a 5 fps animation :p

Yup, this happens to me.

Not like some huge deal or anything though.

iOS8.2 has much bigger issues.

Like the fact that stopping the Health and Fitness tracking doesnt really stop it from gathering the data and just stops the dashboards from updating.

Flick through the menus, rotate the screen and scroll quickly down a long website on an iPhone 5, 5S and 6.
Then do the same things on a 6+ and observe the differences.
For many it doesn't appear to be an issue, and that's cool. Don't go looking for problems if you don't ordinarily see them. Some are bothered though when their upgrade is less smooth than their previous iPhone.
8.2 has fixed some of the problems but my 6+ still performs worse in certain respects than any other iPhone I've owned.
As for Henry saying that only a couple of folk have complained, it's worth noting that 199 people or 44.52% of those who contributed to the ten page 'iPhone 6+ lag' thread said that their 6+ exhibited it.

8.3 is a treat even compared to 8.2. Very satisfied.
