I imagine they ordered through the Apple Store app, since that was somewhat working from early on last Friday.
I was trying that starting at 3:01am that morning and by the time I did get in the date was already in October. what gives..and how do they justify allowing some people who were trying just as hard to get totally screwed while others sail through? They should have delayed all of them till October to be fair to those like me who were trying just as hard to get through.
Apple preorders are always a disaster. Their site crashes or comes up late literally every year and lets totally random people through.
I had to keep refreshing on the Store APP but I got a hit at around 12:30am on the 12th. Madness. Picking mine up tomorrow.
Even though the apple store came up late I waited for them because they always have more stock. I got a gold 64 plus being delivered tomorrow. I ordered within 7 mins of the store being up on the iPad app. I think most pluses were gone within 30 mins.

I ordered at 12:01 pacific from AT&T. My phone still lists a ship date of Oct 2-Oct 13 and won't be arriving this week...or apparently this month.
My wife ordered 90 minutes later than I did, but from Apple when their store was briefly online, and her phone will be here tomorrow.
Both space gray. Both a 6 Plus.
Won't be bothering with AT&T ordering again.

Wasn't showing any results a little while ago. Though I used the full 9-digit ZIP code this time instead of just the usual 5. The top reference is the full order number while the second is the phone number.
Hoping for an early delivery next week. Hovering over the purple arrows says "in transit" like the screenshot above. No serial number from Apple yet though.
Original delivery range was Oct. 1-6, which the order status page still says. 6+, space gray, 16GB, T-Mobile.

I was able to use the Apple Store app. I got the order in at 2:39 am. It did go down for about 10-15 minutes. I even had to pay my phone bill before they would process the order. Accidentally had two 64 GB phones in the cart. Luck of the draw I guess. I used the app last time to order my 5.
I order two Plus phones and my package is 3lbs. I only have one tracking number and it's through FedEx.
Apple is only using UPS this year I believe. That's where I ordered it.
Good to know. Her package is listed at 1.5lbs, which is interesting.
I didn't read the whole thread but thought it might be UPS/FedEx difference, which is why I wanted to mention it.
I spoke to Apple customer support today. They explained what happened as being due mostly to the various carrier's servers crashing under the load. Every order has to go through the carrier for verification before Apple can do anything with it, so while Apple's servers only crashed a couple of times, the carriers were doing a lot worse. At any rate Apple decided to throw in one of their nice leather cases as compensation for my troubles on the 12th.
The sort of class one utimately expects when dealing with Apple. Much as I complained about what happened the actual people with whom I had contact did their utmost to be helpful to whatever degree they could.
That is how I got mine. Just got my tracking number today, and it appeared in my support profile, mine is in Harrisburg, PA, awaiting a flight to Commerce City, CO, then a truck ride to me in Boulder, CO. I suspect they had a lot them already here in the states, so that is why the tracking, info is showing up today.
I Ordered my 128gb iPhone 6 plus on the 12th at 1:30am that's the time I finally got through from refreshing over and over and I ordered a blue leather case to (don't no if it makes a difference ) I got that yesterday the 17th so my cc has been charged for iPhone my delivery date is on October.1st- 6th but it has preparing for shipment that just came up today so I'm hoping it will slip through cracks and be here tomarrow.
I'm hoping for you that you do get yours tomorrow. But I can tell you that my order has said "Preparing to Ship" for several days now. And the shipping date is showing as 10/2 - 10/13. (I should be happy about that; it started by saying 10/31 - 11/11. But I am envious of those folks who will get theirs tomorrow.)

Maybe the delay in my shipment is ultimately a good thing. For one, I end up with a free case that would otherwise have been $49 (it's their good leather case). And I get to see it in the store first in case maybe it turns out I'd rather have the smaller one, though unlikely (the rep on the phone told me that if I cancel my phone order to leave the case in so I'll still get it even if I buy the phone in the Apple Store)
